A couple more questions from a newbie
Hi All,
A while back, I posed a question to the board that helped out my excursions to my favorite clubs a lot. The advice you all gave was very helpful indeed. Now I have a couple more questions to ask the group. I'll shake off this newbie thing eventually but until then, your help is much appreciated.
1. A couple local clubs recently advertised that they went "pastie-free". I was wondering if there is some code or law on the books about dancers using pasties then ditching them after a while and is it considered a big deal that a club goes "Pastie Free" ???
2. Is photography bad form in a club? I thought of taking my handy-cam and shooting some vid or taking shots with my camera phone. I don't want to incur the wrath of the bouncers if I do take shots.
3. A couple dancers I've seen are very busty and I think a dance with oil or lotion on thier breasts would be a beautiful show. Is oiling or lotioning not done on stage for safety reasons or just too messy? Just curious.
Thanks for your input. Be sure to tip your dancers!!!

There are different codes and laws in every city of every state regarding clubs. Strip Clubs are regulated by local law. If the club was Pastie before and not Pastie now they are most likely either paying-off the right politicians or just pushing the envelope to see what they can get away with. It may or may not last.

My my , you ARE a newbie. Photography is definitely bad form. At best your equipment will be confiscated. At worst you will have the shit beat out of you by a very large and angry bouncer...or two...

Well, you can always ask but I wouldn't hold my breath if I where you... The point about the messy/safety issue is a good one but it's also just a pain in the neck in this day and age. Features will tend to do this sort of stuff but house girls are usually not on stage for that long and they want to get right to the private dance selling when they get stage. An oily dancer does not sell a lot of private dances...

Note to self: "Photography is a REALLY BAD idea!!!"
Re: A couple more questions from a newbie
^^^ Yes it is, lol - and so is the oil! (-:
Re: A couple more questions from a newbie
Oil on stage is super dangerous!!! Can you imagine, walking in 8'' stilettos on an oil slick???
and we don't get worker's comp.....
you should read more of customer conversation, I'm sure you'll learn a LOT!!!!!!
Re: A couple more questions from a newbie
what would make u think u could take pics? that would be extra $$$ if it were allowed and it's certainly not at my club. they dont even let guys have their mobile phones turned on in our club - not that it stops them. if someone took a pic of me id take their phone and keep it or brake it.
Re: A couple more questions from a newbie
Looks like oil and pic taking is a really, really bad idea. I never thought about the stilettos.

It would depend on the state and local laws where you live. In some locales, any sort of nudity is technically illegal in clubs that have a liquor license. Clubs have gotten around this by having dancers cover the bare minimum they need to to be in compliance. If a club is going "pastie free" there may have been either a change in the laws which permitted them to do this, or more than likely the clubowners found a loophole in the existing ones.
As for bringing a camera into the club, (or even a camera phone): No, no and hell no.
I'm clueness about use of oil/lotion for a show, but I could count on one hand (or even two fingers) the number of times I've seen them, and they were usually done off stage (wrestling), or there was a cloth covering the stage (feature show). I personally wasn't impressed by either.

Here's a visual for you:
I was doing a spin around the pole onstage. Apparently the girl before me had used lotion before she came up. So one minute I'm spinning, the next my hands slip on a greasy spot on the pole and I SLAM to the floor on my knees. It was damn near close to breaking my kneecap.
Oil/lotion=BAD and DANGEROUS!
