Has anybody ever worked on New Year's? I'm contemplating on either working or going out. I don't want it to be dead. Has anyone had any experience? Is it a banking night? Or a gamble? thanks in advance.

it won't be dead, but it won't be your ideal customer either.
The only reason I'm going in is becase of football.
yea, what she said ^^ ... plus the mummers parade..
It depends on where you are.
I am in NYC, we (pec) are closed New Year's Eve. Our entertainers wouldn't want to work, they all like to travel. Plus our customers travel as well.
So, most likely if we were open, there would maybe be a few out of towner custies, and a handful of dancers.
All in all, it's better for us to just close.
come to vegas and party on the strip..
Done it and I wouln't recommend it unless you seriously need to earn some extra cash after the holidays.
I did it one year and it blew balls. So many girls and not my kind of customers either. A bunch of young guys who spent all their money on alcohol getting drunk before midnight. Of course there is the drunk rush after midnight too. It was more stressfull than fruitfull.
Im not working it this year. I worked today and it sucked again.
Our club is closed New Years but tonight we had a million custys and not enough girls to go around. Good for me but my manager was freaking out.
Its gonna suck! I am working because I am scheduled on sundays and cant get out of it without paying a retarded $100 fine. Fuck that. I am bringing a 6 pack and I am going to get my buzz on, if I make money yaay me, but I am just going to have fun and make the best of it. Should be a decent (drunk) crowd after midnight, but I work in a stinking college town so BLEH for drunken frat boys!
Get this, it was MANDATORY for all of us to work a shift on NYE. Somehow I talked our GM into letting me work 2 p.m. to 7. haha. I have no idea what that will be like, but at least I'll only be there five hours instead of eight.
Im only working because I have a feature gig... other then that fuck it lol.. though they say its busy but I doubt its anything to be desired...
Good luck to anyone going in today! I'm 'bout to hit the shower and put on the hairpiece. Ahhh, what a glamourous life, lol.;D
I'm workin, but random shifts, 2-4pm, and 5-7pm. I don't wanna be around for the drunken rush. I want to BE the drunken rush :D
From my experience, working on NYC,at least here in DC has always been very good.I usually work NYE,rarely take off, this I believe will be 9th or 10th working.Last year wasn't too great though, but we had a ton of friends and regulars in and we all drank a lot of champagne and had a blast.
So...hopefully tonight will be good,
Happy new Years everybody!
Well, working 2-7 was boring and extremely average. I don't usually talk numbers, but I made $250. Not excellent by any standard, but better than a lot of girls who were saying they hadn't cracked $100.
well, I worked from 6pm until midnight (actually, 11:45 because I really didn't want to hit drunk traffic) and banked. All the girls that worked did because there weren't that many of us. If I had stayed, I'm sure I would have made a couple hundred more.
I made over $1000 in about an hour off one guy who was ridiculously drunk. Like so much I think he peed himself. I think he drank like 4 bottles of champagne by himself (even though he was with a couple of friends.) he had no clue what he was spending and didn't care so I asked him to buy a lot of funny money. Then there were the lonely hearts and "Fuck New Year's Eve" boys night out crew.
I worked NYE (just got home) and made only $200. But let's be honest--I wasn't trying or hustling at all.
I worked every single night this week starting on Christmas Monday (and a double on Tuesday--a 14 hour shift!)...and I was BEAT. More mentally beat than physically--I was BURNT OUT on hustling, had no patience for custy bullshit, and really just wanted to show off my pole tricks to crazy Latin music and do some champagne wrestling for NYE. So I did. And the champagne wrestling was FUUUUUN! ;D
But now it's 2007...a new year...time to break out the DW HSC and other assorted sales-related reading material and get serious about hustling the pants off of everyone.
Shitty night.. none of the girls really made money tonight.. it was packed but just drunk guys there to party. I made decent stage tips(which never happens in Toronto), took me lighting myself on fire to get it though lol. I dunno I wouldnt have been there if I wasnt booked. I felt bad for all the house girls who paid to be there tonight..
this weekend was DEFINITELY worth the drive to Manhattan !
I worked the 3-11pm.... it was DEAD untill around 9ish... I should have worked the 8pm-2am I probably would have banked... they begged me to stay because there were only like 4 girls on till 2 but I promised my boyfriend I'd be home for the ball drop.
I did well but I didnt make anything BUT stage money untill 7pm... But I made great stage money overall and I danced for my first couple !! It was so cool. I like dancing for couples!
I'm kickin myself in the ass for wasting time from 3pm-7pm when I should have just worked the later shift.... But hey its the mom life I guess.
I debated ALL morning wether to work today (I'm a day shift girl) but I ended up saying screw it and not going... Mondays arnt my days but I thought "Hey maybe it will be busy with few girls".... but I didnt take the chance....
I'm still kickin myself I could have doubled my earnings if I stayed! I was so hungry though and the kitchen was NOT making food and they dont let us order out.... And my boyfriend still got mad at me when I got home..... Bah humbug.....
I'm guessing that's in response to Melonie, not me.
I don't think she worked there...just knows.
