Does anyone have resolutions for the new year? I was thinking that we could post some and try to check up on each other every two months to see how we hold up on our resolutions.
My resolution is to have a 70% raw foods diet.
Anyone else?

My 2007 resolution is to be more organized. I have a makeup fetish. I have a ton of it, I need to get rid of it and clean out my bathroom...
I also want to run a marathon this year. :)
ooh, a marathon sounds great!!
Gynger, your man is coming home soon!! Yay!
Damn, I didn't see the other resolution threads!
I feel like a lame ass :'(
I resolve to keep in better touch with my friends^^^^^^^, and to let them know they are not lame asses, ^^^^^^ (cough, cough) lol;)
LOL, Awww Jayda :)!! Thanks, boo!!
I try not to make resolutions because they always get broken.
I do want to go to the gym more often, and drink less.
1) Get the tattoo of my dreams
2) Get a job that I'm going to stick with
3) Travel abroad with my boyfriend
4) Get a new hair due
1. To get involved with school.
2. To stop being a puss and finally get my butt out and audition at a club.
To give up sauerkraut. Cross your fingers, I've got an 18 year success streak on that one.
:crossfing
And just because I'm such a masochist, I'm gonna add liver and onions and pickled eggs to the list this year.
I'll hold off on giving up the limburger cheese until Lent starts. :P
Shoot my film :)
Fuck the Fire/Medic that is playing with me......At least just once and i am happy!
I resolve to have more sex! Three times a year just ain't enough! LOL! I resolve to snag my first commercial gig by the end of the year!
Keep chugging forward as things are.
Hey, I like who I am, I just want a year of keeping it this way with minor improvements.
Oh, And to make Jayda laugh more.
Just a suggestion here for making resolutions. There are some great ones in here and yet the reason Yekefah is right with how she breaks them probably has to do with the way the resolutions are set in motion. I think the best one in this thread so far that really has a chance of success is francescadubois'.
The reason I say that is because she's the only one who actually quatified her resolution..."A 70% raw food diet". That's an awesome one because it's actually something that can be measured.
Jayda, you said you want to keep better in touch with your friends, right? You'll have a lot more success with that if you quantify it. There is no way to measure "keep in touch more" but you can measure, "Call my closest five friends at least once a week." See the difference?
So rather than make a pledge to "make more money in 2007" make a realistic plan to "Earn $XYZ dollars this year" and keep that number in front of you at all times...on a post-it on your computer monitor, on a card in your wallet or purse, etc. Quantify your resolutions and you'll get better results!
Good advice DW!!! Mine are the standard: go to the gym more, stay more organized, finish paying off my credit cards, save x amount of money per month, oh yeah, and quit smoking for good!!!
1. To go to the gym 3-4 times per week.
2. Clean up my diet, eat more healthy food.
3. Quit smoking.
4. Work 4 days per week, minimum of 6 hours per day.
5. Put more effort into making money at work.
6. Clean my house every Tuesday.
7. Show my boyfriend I appriciate him more often. he puts up with a lot of crap for me.
My New Year's resolutions are:
1) To be making a steady income by the end of the year in a career I enjoy and be where I can GROW!
2) To learn more about diet, and to become physically fit and strong;
3) To get closer to my bf and to make our relationship stronger and healthier;
4) To GROW and GROW and GROW more- to learn about who I am and where I want to go!
5) To enjoy living... to do things I enjoy, and to share things I enjoy with others who are enjoying the same.
6) To get closer to my mother... to share with her and bond with her and understand her.
7) To make my deceased father proud that I am his daughter! :)
I don't do resolutions. Changes that are worth doing are done when they are needed.
to plant an absolutely HUGE organic vegetable garden this year, so that I can grow and preserve at least 50%of the food I'll be eating at this same time next year.
This is based on my concerns about the e-coli incidents which have already been noted re commercially grown vegetables, my concerns about Genetically Engineered vegetables having possible 'complications' for human consumption that aren't yet fully known / understood, as well as on the fact that corn for ethanol is now 'competing' for the same farmland which will raise prices of all foods over the next year.
Hubby is on a three week delay, set to come home by the last weekend in January, although if it gets extended further, it would be ok with me, I always go through "nervous nelly" syndrome before he comes home, being gone for so long tends to warp the mind a bit, getting readjusted.. I've been in my own world for awhile... now I have to change everything again.. LOL.. all for the better tho!;D
Yes, a marathon... hoping to start training in about six weeks.
I had things I planned that all happened last year. So this year I'll do the same and set time limits on each one but wont try to do them all at the same time. But since I have a huge list of plans to get through I will add this....
