Auditioning?
I have never stripped before, and if anyone could give me a sort of checklist/guide to auditioning, I would very much apprieciate it. How does one get an audition set up? What should I wear, etc? The club I plan on auditioning at is over an hour away, so I don't have many opportunities to go scope things out. Is the application process similar to other lines of work, or is the audition pretty much the only important thing? Thank you so much!

Re: Auditioning?
it's best to visit the club that u plan to audition at first and chat to the other dancers or ask over the phone what the audition process will be and what to wear.
i just wore casual clothing to my interview - jeans and a t-shirt. it did not involve an audition it was simply an informal chat to the dance manager.
however some clubs do expect an audition so if that's the case it would be best to find out what the dancers wear.
take a few lingerie sets and any shoes that u would be comfortable dancing in.
but your best bet is to phone before u go so u can get a better idea.

Re: Auditioning?
Call the club and ask what their auditioning is like. Some clubs make you come in for amateur night, some have you come in and audition any night, and some have no audition at all- you just go in and meet the manager so he/she can see what you look like, and they decide if your look fits their club. There really is no application for most clubs. There may be paperwork for you to fill out once you're hired (real name, address, SSN, phone#, etc.) but you really don't apply. Also, some clubs that have a website may have an online application that you can fill out and send in your pic, and they'll let you know that way.
Really you should call the club though, because different clubs do things differently.

Re: Auditioning?
^^^I agree with all of the above. You definitely should call the club and ask of their requirements, both for an audition and what they are expected to wear/do once hired.
You say it's hard to check out because it's an hour away, but isn't it worse to go there and be turned down because you weren't prepared?
I would seriously consider visiting the club, hanging out there, and speak to BOTH the managers and the entertainers there. You'll feel much more comfortable and confident when you go back to audition.

Re: Auditioning?
I would also suggest buying stiletto heels before your audition if you find out it is a "dance" audition. The heels are the same standard everywhere and it will really help spark your confidence wearing a nice pair of stripper heels...as if you are already a professional stripper. They will look very sexy with your costume, you can look pictures of them up on here somewhere and online.
Def call before hand, good luck.
