Is there a permanent pink that doesn't wash out as quickly as Manic Panic?
How long does the Paul Mitchell Ink last? Manic Panic's cotton candy lasts maybe a day or two in my hair, and it's so light you can hardly see it. I'd like a bright pink like the OP.
I wish I were a blonde so I could put color streaks in my hair like that. :( It looks SO HOT!
Really, they're about the same...
Are you decolorizing the parts of your hair that you're applying the Manic to? Regardless of how light your natural blonde is, you need to to open the hairs' cuticle and breakup the natural pigment in the hair or else the artificial color, no matter what brand you use, will not hold.
I have highlights, but I'm not bleaching the hell out of it like I used to. I guess that's the problem... oh well. Where do you get those cute clip-on color streaks?

This is where I found the info. I think I will go extensions first, just to see. I'll let you all know when I get them in the mail and try them out!
You could make them pink human hair extensions.. then they won't fade! all you have to do is get them tightened! I used to have white and baby blue streaks under my black hair. It looked hot and it didn't damage my hair at all :)
I have a bright (ultraviolet!) purple streak in my hair right now...these Conair extension machines are on clearance at Shopper's for $20. They come with lots of 'funky' colored extensions. They last 4 weeks, really easy.

^^^ I've never seen that before! How does it work?
Woah! I'm going to shoppers this afternoon! Merci Scarlett :)
I want one I want one I want one!! It appears that they're only available in Canada for some reason, and if I buy it off that website, with the shipping it's like $40 (and I don't know if that's USD or Canadian). I'll paypal the money to some nice Canuck if you'll buy me one and mail it to me! Pretty please!
Ya, no prob. I'm back in Van on Sunday, my local Shopper's has stacks of them. Send me an email to confirm for sure and I'll pick one up for you. I really like it.
Holy crow, I want one too. What would be do without you Scarlett?
*runs to Shoppers*
Heyy I think I want some also!
Molly I think the pink would look really nice in your hair, especially the picture you showed us. I know two girls (both work at Silver) who have pink highlights, it looks horrid on one (sorry girl!) but that's just my opinion, the other one however, totally looks good! She's a sweet and fun person so it totally works with her.
If you end up doing, post some pictures!
I do this with my hair quite often, I've always got pink or purple or blue or something. No crazy colors are permanent, no matter what. They will wash out within a month, you just have to keep re-doing it, it's not that bad, it takes me like 20 minutes, no biggie, every 3 weeks or so. The pink is hot, it's totally different, but not weird, it's just sexy. People love it, I'm always getting compliments on my hair. People really love it, cuz it shows that you are daring, exciting, I don't know, just something about it.Pink is great and it fades pretty too, no icky colors when fading. I did my hair blue once, NEVER again, it fades to this nasty green that you cannot bleach out or dye over. I say, GO FOR IT definately
I've had my hair every color imaginable (right down to silver and neon yellow) and unless you plan to have your hair that way for a long time, it's a no win situation. It doesn't fade gracefully, so your only options are to a) keep redying it every month b) dye over it with a darker color or c) (worst of all) bleach over it multiple times until you finally get rid of it.
But..... I do think the color itself would look amazing on you!!! I'm just with everyone who suggests extentions over actual dye. Or, theres those temporary colored creams that come out after a wash or two. Whichever route you chose, please post pics of the final result!
I think it looks cool, just have it professionally done and have it done with temporary dye. Also, be prepared to possibly have to bleache your hair to get it all out. I put black and red streaks in my (blonde hair) once and wore really punky clothes at work, it worked for me.
There's a girl I work with who's hair is :censored:ed up, and I mean like, really bad, from getting extensions. She's going bald in the back of her head, and she's only 19!
They have a lot of temporary colored creams, like dollyrocker said, maybe try that first?
I just don't want you to have no hair in the back after getting extensions for two years.
Maybe I'll snap a picture and bring it in.. Hehhe.. Sorry getting off topic here
The blonde and pink is hot!!! My blonde, imo, is a little too dark for that look, but your shade looks fine. Try it, post pics, and have fun:)
Hmm, the shoppers I went to didn't have the thing Scarlett had. But there are like fifty shoppers in the region, so I'll make it a mission.
The website I saw those clips in doesn't ship to Canada. BOO! But the hair place around the corner has some manic panic, so I'm considering it. My hair is dyed, but since it's naturally already a medium/ darkish blonde, it's not bleached. Would the manic panic stuff work as well on lightened but not bleached blonde hair? What the hell- it's temporary. I'll give it a whirl.
Manic Panic only really works on bleach-blonde. I have natural blonde with highlights, and the Manic Panic cotton candy dye is barely visible, and it fades completely out within a day or two. A vinegar rinse holds it in a little longer, but you can barely see it, and that's when I leave it in for 45 minutes and heat-set it with the blow-dryer. I finally gave up on it.
I really really really want one of those things Scarlett has, but they only seem to be available in her area. I guess I'll try and order it off the website, even though the shipping is insane. Hopefully they ship to the USA.
^I can get you one, it's not a problem.
There are curently 3 left at my local store. pm me if you want one, OK? It'll be the cost ($20CAD + 15% tax), plus shipping (around 10-15, probably. Yeah, Canada Post is expensive).
