So does that machine add fake hair, or colour the hair you have? The shipping is cheap to where I'm at, so I might just order one. I went to three Shoppers and gave up.

It adds fake hair.
I was thinking about doing the same thing.
yeah, it adds fake hair. It comes with 40 pieces, and you can use heat implements on them (even though it says not to). The best part is the little heated applicator thingie...I think if I buy some extension glue on eBay, I'll be able to put in my own real-hair extensions with this thing. Yay!
Jenny's a moderator now?! Hooray!
Also, I ordered the doo-hickie. But in my spastic impatience, I also bought some manic panic to try out tonight. I'm on an extended work holiday, so what the hell.
Edit- day-ummm! I got an email that they cancelled my order because glorious hair device is sold out.
Oooh i love it. I have something similar that i wanted to do but i will def. use a weave!
I love it!!!!!
as someone with ridiculously bright hair (mine is always bright orange *see blow or bright red *see icon) i agree with jenny. it does, on occasion, make me more money than girls with "normal" hair... but i'm sure it loses me money on occasion as well. i know it does. in fact, i'm hoping to invest in a nice long blonde wig soon.
i just got tired of not being myself anymore. i still take out my piercings at work, but i thought to myself "fuck it. when i go back into corporate america (if i do) i'll have to be "normal" again anyway. i might as well do it while i can. plus, it gives me a little bit of sanity in my growing burn out.
i work with a woman in her late 30s who is blonde and puts pink or purple (she goes back and forth) streaks underneath. guys seem to love it. i think it makes her look "fun" and maybe even younger. i haven't noticed that she's lost any money from it. also, pink highlights in general are far more accepted as "normal" than most other colors. give your thanx to pink, avril and gwen. they're just a slight bit edgy without being extreme or shocking.
as far as how easy the upkeep is.......
it isn't. you'll either have to keep dying the steaks pink or bleach them out eventually. it will never just "fade back to normal".
*EDIT*
ps. the best brands (and i've now used pretty much all of them) for staying-power are the manic panic amped line and the jerome russel punky colors line
original manic panic fades pretty quick, as does beyond the zone and special effects.
the only one i haven't tried or used on someone else is the "fudge(i think)" brand they carry at hot topic as of recently.
you know...
i just realized i'm an expert on this stuff. lol i've already done a ton of other people's hair throughout the years. i should start doing punky stripper highlights. :P
I really like it. I'm thinking of getting Manic Panic Pretty Flamingo. It glows under blacklight. I've also considered an extension but haven't had good luck with finding one that would look good.
