Sydney has been very quiet for almost 12 months now so its hard to say whether the money would be great during the time you'd want to be there. Certainly its possible to get hired for just a few days and I think you would at least make the couple of hundred towards your trip with things at the very worst. Of course if you happen to be there in a good week you'll be laughing, right now though its unpredictable.
From what I can gather Melbourne is much better than Sydney has been so you could possibly make all the $ you need there.
What band are you coming to see?
Oh one more thing - check that you have acom booked in Sydney beforehand if you need it because everywhere - seriously EVERYWHERE has been booked out for the last few weeks!
Im finding melbourne really good at the moment. the first week of jan was shit but lately the money has been great even mid week.
I work at centrefoldlounge. Im pretty sure u would be able to work for a short period of time. Otherwise I know GoldCoastGirl has travelled and worked for a short period at goldfingers, bar20 and spearmint rhino.
jaizaine is correct. I have worked in Melbourne for periods ranging from three nights to two weeks so it is very possible to work in Melbourne for short periods of time. It is also possible to do so in Sydney - give Mens Gallery or Pure Platnium a go.
As for Melbourne, each club has its own personality and hustle so unfortunately I cannot recommend any to anyone due to how each is different. Some do really well at Rhino whilst others at Mens Gallery... whilst others still rather small clubs like Dallas Dancers or out of the CBD clubs like Crystal T's in Brunswick......
My experience? My experience before I started travelling outside of the Gold Coast was limited to working on the Gold Coast for three and a bit years. It does help to have some experience "under your belt" however it isn't required nor needed IMO. Just get out there and give it a go. That's what I did and it paid off.
In re: body modifications, your best bet is to phone the clubs ahead of time to ask. I've known plenty of girls who have body modification that worked in Rhino. As long as the body mods are tasteful I guess they wouldn't have a problem with it by appearances. Goldies would definately have no problem as they seem to allow all sorts of girls to work there (tho' they still have a standard).
A lot of dancers have tatoos where i work but u are required to cover them up- i think they use dermablend or something over the top and it hides it well.
Piercings are also ok. I have my naval pierced and there are a few dancers who have nipple, clitoris, nose, tongue.
A couple of dancers at my work previously worked at dallas and have said that they found it ok. I don't think the earning potential is as high as most of the other king street clubs though from what I have heard.
I had another thought, that as she is from New Zealand she might have trouble getting work at Rhino? Maybe GCG could confirm but I think u need an ABN to work there??
When you do go running around town checking each club out be very aware that Rhino won't let you (an unescorted female) into the club. I encountered this problem when I first checked out some of the King St clubs years ago and as far as I'm aware it is still enforced. I had no problems elsewhere tho' esp. MGs since I had a pass-out from there.
Also try to do so on night(s) that you plan to work. Yes Rhino requires you to be legal to work within that club - one of the reasons I liked it there. Plus Rhino is the only club I have encountered that makes you audition.
TBH the last girl who was heavily tattood (though did cover her tats) was rejected from SMR ... She was hot as :O but they still turned her down!
Gold Fingers is well worth the try for a few nights work!!
Nope. Nothing needs to be added to this thread. Still try Goldfingers tho' at the same time if you have absolutely no experience... Don't let the patrons/customers take advantage of you. They will damn try to do so if you let them.
Ill add to this thread that Sydney is the worst Ive ever seen it! Just incase anyone wanted to know.
Unfuckingbelivable!
Sounds like fun to me - stripping is how I've managed to see tons of the world. Didn't make heaps after expenses, but it was worth it for the experiences.
oooh... actually i will add!
if it u really are BRAND BRAND new and only going to work for a week or so, i'd definately stick to the larger clubs-somewhere like dallas might be fun and laid back but if you've never danced before, it takes a while to figure out how to make money and sometimes it can be harder where there's not as much foot traffic (and your only staying a week or so). If you bet on the big clubs, at least enough people go through the door that you'll still make money, even in your first week of dancing :)
good luck sweetie!
Im planning on doing a similar thing, later next year.
Im over in WA, but this state sucks :-(
I want to visit WA!
Btw Murdock, how did you go?
Sorry, I forgot to say welcome to Australia before too and its a bit late now! (-:
