Re: **Dancing on the pole**
Have you been warming up and cooling down (doing stretches at the beginning and at the end) of your pole sessions ? If you have not, I would strongly advise that you start asap as you will do yourself (your body) some bad damage if you do not do so.
Plus i have found it helped with the pain.
Re: **Dancing on the pole**
First off you want to do ALOT of stretching before using it... I really suggest doing an online class with Alena Downs( ) if you have a webcam.. she can break stuff down with you and show you what you may be doing wrong. How fast you learn really depends on your upper body strength and coordination.
Stretching is really important... because I never used to stretch I now have major shoulder damage that flares up really bad... i've only been dancing shortly over a year and I now have a rotator cuff injury, tendon and nerv damage in my shoulder and am recovering from whiplash(yes whiplash from pole dancing).
Re: **Dancing on the pole**
Definitely stretch properly and fully.
As for how long the pain lasts...for me, it would be a couple of weeks in the beginning...as I got more advanced, it would be a few days. Take arnica for bruising.
Have fun!
