Re: stage sets only clubs?
In DC that's all there is. You rely on stage tips and the tip walk. Also, regulars come in real handy.
Re: stage sets only clubs?
I actually just got burnt out from dancing at stage only clubs, lol....so I'm taking a break and being a waitress for a little while. Stage only dancing, you will still have to sit with the customers and still listen to them. Plus I do tip walks...sometimes a lot of people cannot tip a dollar. Or try to "make me work for it." I've worked at both Fantasies and Millstream in the Baltimore area (I'm not too sure where in MD you are) but they are both depended mainly on stage tips. They both do lapdances but they aren't required and is just extra money if you choose to do them.
Re: stage sets only clubs?
There are a couple here in WI that are stage dancing only and that pay a base pay, but the money isn't very good. Plus you are still expected to talk to customers and try to get them to buy you drinks in between your stage sets. There are also several other clubs here that you do a lot of stage dancing (you go up anywhere from 5-10 times a night usually), but you also sell lap dances. Maybe try a peep show place if there's one in your area? I think that would involve less talking to customers.
Re: stage sets only clubs?
Yeah i do at my club here in hawaii. its pretty cool, actually. like theres 4 stages...and at any time there can be like a few girls to like 10 girls on one stage!(i work dayshift, so i dont have to worry bout crowded stage) ...no poles..just floorwork. we have this little mats/cushions that we use when we uh.."get on all fours" i guess lol. its prety cool. laidback, u dont have to "work" as much. and u can go on and off stage as ud like...but generally, u shud be at least trying to sell drinks or having a smoke break if u aint on stage.
you CAN sell table dances...but most guys dont get em, cuz its basically the same thing on stage.
however, we can hustle drinks..20 bucks for your drink, and u get 10 off each one. of course, ull have to sit with the customer and talk and pretend yer interested in whatever he's saying , which can be a drag. :( lol.
but yeah i make alot of money on stage...i jus keep pulling the garter and dont get naked right away so its more of the tease. its jus annoying to count at the end of the night cuz u have TONS of ones! unless u trade em in...but im too lazy for that. usually my b/f counts all of my ones. lol!
anyways i know wut u mean about being a stripper being exhausting! IT IS! sometiems i jus get too burnt out from it, but then its hard comming back from a break! just like xmas break for school!
anyways, goodluck. hopefully u can find a club with mostly stage with good tips.
Re: stage sets only clubs?
I work in Utah, where it's all stage dancing. Can be good, or bad. If you have the hustling skills from a lapdance club, you'll be able to hustle tips. Sitting with guys and cultivating regulars. I have really good and really bad days, but if I don't wanna, I don't have to talk to anyone, which is nice.,
Re: stage sets only clubs?
Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada is strictly stage dancing, your paid per show can do anywhere from 20 to 40 shows a week... at night you have the option of doing private shows, which are done on a small side stage, or you can do jam sessions at night which is stage shows at different clubs.
Re: stage sets only clubs?
Richard's Rendezvous in Richmond Va.
I worked there years ago, it's a true gogo bar. They have 5 shifts a day with 4 girls on each shift. You go on stage for 20 minutes then you're off for 20 minutes. Yu have very little time in between sets to talk to anyone so if you don't want to you don't have to. If you do a schedule there you have to do it for the month (you'd work firday 8-11all month).
There are alot of regulars there but the money can be good. They are moving to a nw location in town by the end of the year.
Re: stage sets only clubs?
does that mean youre leaving there, or just taking a break? i heard fantasies is really good for stage tips, someone that just left your club started working there and really likes it :P . and you still have to tell me what you heard about my ex-friend!
Re: stage sets only clubs?
The two "stage only" clubs I work at have gone to crap. I do work at one that has both (the lap dances are done on a chair between the bathrooms lol). It's topless, the other two are nude - go figure. This club, though, the guys tend to come to you, in fact they highly dislike being "hustled" for dances, and you can make decent money doing only stage. 2 1/2 hr shifts (the last shift is 3 hrs), 3 girls each shift. No fees, no tip outs. My best night was nearly $500 for one shift (3 hrs), on a bad night I usually still leave with $100 or more - you can make that easily doing stage only at this place. I am not a top earner, either. The caveat is that I work through an agency, and I have to work the crap clubs, too, but only once or twice a week, and at one of them, the shifts are only 3-4 hrs, so I can get a shift in at the good one also, and make up the cash. Unfortunately, the city is trying to shut us down, sad, because we have the 'cleanest' club in the city. So far we are winning, though, yay!
Re: stage sets only clubs?
I worked both Lou Turk's and the PennsPort Pub in Philly. Turk's was my favorite club I've ever worked. 3 girls per shift, and the club pays per shift as well. Then you just walk the bar (actually on top of the bar at the Pennsport), get 3 bucks per dude or more if he wants to tip more, and by the time you are done you go back on the stage again. Easy money.
Re: stage sets only clubs?
Think of it this way. When you work at a club where YOU the dancer are focused on selling dances and using sales techniques and savvy to make your money, YOU the dancer have control of how much you make, and actually have control of the customer.
In a stage tip only club, THE CUSTOMER has control over you the dancer, as the only money you make is what HE WANTS to give you.
The problem with dancer burnout, is that the momentum or dance selling flow is not the way it should be in many clubs, thus making it require more talk and "leading on" to get guys to part with their money.
In other words, this business is similar to a cold calling selling business. It requires game and hustle along with confidence to shrug off all the corny and bullshit lines we hear every night and day that comes on the way to getting the sale and getting paid.
The only real solution to your problem is to move around if you are able, until you can find a few clubs to work in where guys are conditioned to buy dances more easily, or if that is not possible, find another line of work with comparable earnings where closing a sale or getting paid is a more straightforward process.
Re: stage sets only clubs?
Norfolk, VA and Virginia Beach-- pretty much everwhere. Also Newport News, Hampton, Chesapeake, and everywhere within a 1-2 hour radius. I work in Norfolk. Money is not that wonderful compared to working in a club that sells dances. My awesome nights/ days at RC's (Norfolk) were really crappy ones at the Moon (Richmond). I chose to work here because it's closer to my bf and shifts are more flexible. I can go in for 2 hours if I want, whereas going to Richmond was an all day/ night affair. In my limited experience, the girls are more friendly and (because?) there's less competition, so you're not going to get your throat slit for sitting with "someone else's" customer. That said, the most a customer is going to buy while sitting with him is a drink or two. (Woo freakin' hoo.) For the most part, you just end up sitting with weird ass dudes that may or may not tip you when you go on stage, most of which will give you a few dollars and want you to call them to "hang out." Again, in my limited experience, there's more pressure to meet with customers OTC (for "private parties" or "just to get to know each other"), to tell your real name, etc. It's a local hangout/ bar, so that's probably part of the "hey, this is a good place to hang out with strippers" mentality, and partially because a lot of girls will let customers get them piss drunk and then go to afterhours places with them. I spend a lot of time in the dressing room, but even that's not fun, because it's litterally the size of a bathroom stall plus a little place to wash your hands and doubles as the women's bathroom.
It's almost worse than a club where you sell dances, because you really have little reason to leave someone (don't want a dance? ok, guess I'll have to find someone that does) and it's rare that you can get someone to tip you that probably wasn't going to do so already. A lot of guys don't seem to feel obligated to give you anything for your kindness or time. (There's a lot of guys that will be all friendly, hug you, talk to as you walk by, and never give you a dollar, and there's not a whole hell of a lot you can do about it.)
That said, it's not as bad as I'm probably making it sound-- I average $150-200 working 6-11 Saturday nights. I only work one day a week, which works well for being in school, and it only takes 5 minutes to get to work. Compared to a "normal" job, it's pretty good. Compared to dancing, it sucks.
In a nutshell: stage show only clubs have their ups and downs. Some are more lucrative than others. RC's is probably the best in Norfolk. Ocean's Cabaret for Virginia Beach, JB's/ Headlights for Chesapeake. If you're stuck here and limited on time you can work per week, they're fine options, but don't come here from out of town.
That said, not all stage clubs work the same. JB's/ Headlights here does 2 hour sets where you do a 20 minute set on one side of the club where they have t-bar/ pasties and beer and then you do a 20 minute set on the other side where it's bikini bar and liquor. So, you're dancing for pretty much 2 hours straight and then you leave. My club has a lot more sitting time.
DC is probably best (that I know of) for stage only. There you can find actual gentlemen's clubs (nude), whereas here they're bikini bars.
Re: stage sets only clubs?
I've always wanted to try a stage only club, but I'm not excited about the idea anymore after what I've read thus far :(
Re: stage sets only clubs?
All of DC is stage only.I heard that Pussicat Lounge in NYC is stage only too,but might be wrong.
