my first night, read this if you've never danced before and are nervous
Hiya. Basically, last week, I sent e mails to 2 local strip clubs asking if they were looking for girls. I explained I had no experience, but they both still seemed eager to book me in for auditions. The first one I was meant to audition for, seemed more foucused on being a "bar" with sports so I got the impression it could be full of total chancers who stay there all night nursing a beer watching the stage shows and don't go for private dances. The second club, is basically the nicest lap dancing club in my city. I thought I may aswell atleast try and aim high, and if I didn't get the job there, fair enough, suck it up and go back after I had got a few months experience at a less nice club.
Well anyway, I went for my audition at the nicer club on Friday night. I was so nervous and had been for the entire week, since my only experience was kind of wiggling in the mirror and reading this forum and trying to grasp it. Basically, got shown about the club, recieved a dance from one of the girls and then had to dance for her. The manager didn't lie, she said she could tell I had no experience but she liked the way I didn't seem nervous and took my bra off without hesitation, LOL. She then told me she would hire me and I could start work on Saturday. I was so amazingly pleased and shocked, since I thought I had no chance getting the job.
I started on Saturday night, and didn't hustle, just spent the night trying to learn from other girls as it was the only night I don't have to pay house. I landed myself one customer who got about 5 dances from me as I was new and he wanted to "teach" me. He basically couched me on what guys like and paid me for it which I appriciated. The mistake I think I made big time on my first dance was going WAY too fast. Slow = sensual. I also ended up landing myself a stag show, but some skanky girl got herself involved so I went away with half the money I should of got for that since she involved herself and was trying to make it just her and the other girl doing the stag even though I had been asked first. But apart from that, no drama really. My legs are still so sore, but I'm working again on wendesday and thursday, then saturday.
Anyway I suposse my point is, aim high, even if you don't have any experience. Just come across as determined and confident, and you will be rewarded! :D
Re: my first night, read this if you've never danced before and are nervous
^^^ That is great advice for new dancers. Aim high, but also don't be disappointed if you don't do as well as you had hoped. It can take time to learn the ropes and begin to feel comfortable. It's natural to be nervous, but just remember that the first night (especially the first couple hours) are the hardest, and after that, it will get easier.
Also, like you said, dance slowly and sensually- a lot of girls get on stage and get so nervous that they can't stop moving around and they dance way too fast- kind of like they're in a dance club. Just try to move slowly and focus on your movements.

Hi Doeeyes,
First of all, just want to say Well done for your audition and your brilliant 1st nite! I'm in the same situation, love to try dancing, no expereince but reading this forum and learn soooo much from it.
If you don't mind me asking, where are you base?! I'm in the North of England..this little town doesn't have many clubs..like you said one sporty and one classier one..I might try the nicer one first and see...just summing up all the courage from you all.
Well, I admire your courage so much and enjoy yourself! I'm sure you'll be a success!!:-*

hiya, I'm based in Edinburgh. There's about 7 strip clubs here but the one I'm working at is deffo in the top 2. :)
Trust me, I was so nervous, I had the total shakes, felt sick, couldn't sleep every night thinking what if I end up falling on my bum and making a total idiot of myself or what if they don't think I'm toned enough. You just have to get on with it, make sure you look hot, wear your best undies and don't be scared. It was nowhere near as bad as I had imagined and I landed myself a job ;D
Re: my first night, read this if you've never danced before and are nervous
second night tonight, i came home wi a staggering 30 pounds. the club was DEAD. I might only work saturdays from now on.
Re: my first night, read this if you've never danced before and are nervous
DoeEyes, thanks for this. I've been kinda battling with myself for the last couple of weeks trying to decide if I wanted to try to audition for clubs. My only concern is if dancing will cause a problem when I apply for my dream job in a few years. But I think, since I have about two years before I can apply, that I will audition for clubs, and call around probably tomorrow. It helps to hear from other first timers. :) Thanks!

thanks for posting your experience. I am VERY nervous about auditioning.

I finally mustered up the courage to call this club that I am wanting to work at. Apparently they don't have auditions, they just look at you in your street clothes and size you up...that is what I hear. Anyway, I am soooooo nervous because this is a nice club. But then again, I am like the OP, if I don't get accepted then, well, I just don't get accepted! I really think they will take me, but IDK. I am soooo nervous. I am off work all week and I am really thinking about going and applying there sometime before my friend comes into town on Friday. I hope he says yes and I get the job. I am seriously so nervous that I get the shakes, my heart races, and my stomach ties up into knots and I get this feeling of nervous fear run through me....
wish me luck though if I do decide to go there this week!!

Good luck! I think you should go for it :)
I am going in on Wednesday to a club in B-more that I really want to work at...When I talked to one of the dancers working (I went in as a custy to check the place out last week) she said whether or not I will actually have to audition will depend on the shift I go in, and that the day manager doesn't really make you audition - just look at you & say yay or nay. I am going in on day shift & am neeeervous! Trying to shed the anxiety & go in confident! *crosses fingers*

Just a tip to you all that are new in this! If you contacted a club, went for an audition and they said they will call you back, well, the truth is that THEY WON'T. At least in my experience that's a way for them to say "you are not good enough for this club", so don't even wait up for them to call you, either you go there again and try out with a different manager or you go try somewhere else.
