The two border guards in Texas again.
There is still a lot on the radio, even after they've been convicted and sent to prison. From what I understand, they did not follow procedure and should have been suspended without pay for 5 days or 30 days. But not sent to federal prison for over a decade,
Most of what I hear is supportive of the border guards, but there are a few of the conservative talk show hosts, at least via what I hear from friends, who support the government's position. Yet this seems to be quickly morphing into a PR nightmare for the current administration and U.S. Attorney General.
There is also the matter of the so-called "victim," in this case (i.e., a drug smuggler), suing the U.S. for $5 million in a civil case. I wonder if the citizenry of the U.S. can sue the president and U.S. Attorney General's Office for economic fraud? (yes, I already know the answer). The fact remains if something similar happened in private industry, the shareholders could sue the company/corporation involved.
So why shouldn't the citizenry be able to sue the politicians when they screw up and squander taxpayer's money?
I have not voted for any Democrat or Republican for ten years now.
But I will make an exception for any presidential candidate, of any party, who agrees to permanently end the freakin' immunity of the Congress from civil lawsuits over the legislation they propose and pass!
Re: The two border guards in Texas again.
This case makes me absolutely boil over with rage. Those guys should've been given a fucking medal, not destroyed. Their kids are growing up fatherless and without the support of a full-time parent. It's just so fucking WRONG it makes my eyes bleed.
Re: The two border guards in Texas again.
political correctness ... what else can I say.
Hopefully GWB will pardon them and put an end to this travesty.
Re: The two border guards in Texas again.
Since I gave to the minute men, I have been receiving all kinds of sad stories of police officers imprisoned on the smallest of accounts. Today I got one from a woman who released her dog on a fleeing illegal alien crack dealer who was burglarizing a home. They tried the dude, put him on a bus and deported his ass. FIVE years later, she gets arrested for abusing his civil rights. Can you imagine wondering after every arrest if five years later one is going to get fucked over?
I am really starting to lose my confidence in the legal system of the US.

As the saying goes, "Don't get mad, get even!" Jury duty for me next week. I wonder if there has been such a concept as a "hostile juror" before?}:D

Faux News- Rupert Murdock has his own agenda. He never lets the truth get in his way. 9 out 10 things you hear on FOX are flat out lies.

What gives you the impression I heard this on Fox? Rupert Murdoch has zero to do with any of the radio stations I listen to the vast majority of the time, either AM or FM. As it happens, most of my information related to this topic is from a radio station owned by Disney. The corporation which also provides the liberally-biased ABC evening news on television. This, in order for their advertisers to reach both liberal and conservative potential consumers.
In fact, the afternoon drive-time guy supports the government's position, The evening guy immediately following the drive-time guy opposes the government's position. Both are registered Republicans. From what I've read, heard and seen from multiple sources, I agree with the evening host on this matter.
Re: The two border guards in Texas again.
Last weekend, Ramos got pulled out of his bed and beaten, to the point that he was bleeding out of his ear(s). He was supposed to be out of general population, from what I've heard. The whole thing is very sad. I can understand some kind of punishment for initially trying to cover it up, however, I did read a slightly different report on ths somewhere that stated they were given verbal order by their boss not to file the paperwork needed when there's a shooting. And the reason this bloew up like it did is because one of the SP or DHS (I can't remember which) that has been in charge of handling the case is a CHILDHOOD friend of the drug smuggler! Our guy picked up the drug smuggler and took him to the hospital and cared for him in the American home! Since they are childhood friends, he been cared for very well. There is definitely more to this story and I hope to see all of the lies and deception exposed and these two Border Patrol agents pardoned.
Re: The two border guards in Texas again.
They won't get pardoned - not by this fucking president.
