Nude photos and future employment?
So, I was recently given an opprotunity to model (nude) for a photographer I really respect.
The photos would not be AT ALL sexual, purely artistic. (I really mean this-- nothing would really hint at sex, he just wants some sort of natural thing. I know him pretty well, and trust him, etc., so this shouldn't be a problem.) I've never done any nude photography before, and I really want to do this, but I was wondering if any of you guys had any experience with this sort of thing effecting future employment.
I want to go into publishing, but teaching is sort of a backup for me, and I feel like this is the sort of thing that could mess up my chances of getting a job. :-\

Re: Nude photos and future employment?
It depends on what the photos are going to be used for. If you get on the cover of Playboy or something...that may come back to bit youin the ass later. but if its just for some coffee table book or somehting like that, it shouldnt be a problem.
I have done a lot of nude modeling, and I always make sure to ask what the photographs are going to be used for.
Re: Nude photos and future employment?
What specifically are the photos for, a book, a portfolio, private collectors, etc., and how many, and what type of people might see them? If he has some samples on a website someplace we might have a better idea if they are the type that a future career could be affected by. (Ironically, if you are an actress or model, this is taken for granted. For some reason, any other job is a question mark)

EDIT: I started writing before the above post was up.
Re: Nude photos and future employment?
Teaching could be a problem, judging from some news stories in the last few years.
There's always a risk, with everything. I've worked on occasions with models who either don't want the naughty bits shown, or they're fine with the naughty bits shown as long as their face isn't in the frame. I've also worked with some people who wanted to go into teaching or some other professional field who were quite concerned that their nude image could affect their future employment.
Really, if you've got some concern about it, don't do it. A picture is forever, and you don't want to be second-guessing yourself forever.
