Feeling all pseudo-spiritual and shit.
I find this one uncomfortably relatable

A stripper without a club to dance sexy is like a unicycler without a unicycle

I can write songs, but I couldn’t come up with something like this

Deus lo vult Deus lo vult
The cry throughout the land
The council at Claremont
Brought the sword to hand
Salvations sweet promise
Oh-oh
In numbers unreckoned
Came commoner and thief
With women and children
Desiring Christ's relief
A hope for the hopeless
Oh-oh
Ten times ten thousand
The followed Peter south
Betrayed by Alexius
Across the rivers mouth
The bodies lie broken
Oh-oh
And Volkmar with Emricho
Waged war against the Jews
"Why fight them abroad"
They pillaged the Danube
A demon unleashed
Oh-oh
This fire rages no longer but could burn yet ten times stronger
We are grist for the mill
Whoa-oh oh-oh
Like a snake coiled around us
Islam's truth still confounds us
This faith of 'peace'
Whoa-oh no-oh
Still the Templars came onward
Along the middle sea
In Antioch was found
The Spear of Destiny
A tale yet to be told
Oh-oh
Then with hunger and hatred
Deep within their hearts
They boiled women; ate children
An image so stark
Would Jesus have partook?
Oh-oh
Is this fire something we know who was it struck the first blow
The Moors push into Spain, or Eastern Rome's domain
Many 'truths' there to blind us
Many oaths there to bind us
Who can claim the right today?
No one
No
On the seventh of May
They reached Jerusalem's walls
After two months fighting
The holy city falls
"The slaughter was so great
Men walked in blood"
Like a scene from a nightmare
A cariminium flood!
In those red days that followed
Godfrey was Advocatus Sancti
For he would not rule
In the place where Christ was slain
The vow was fulfilled
Oh-oh
In Ascalon did Godfrey
Stop the Fatamid horde
At his death Baldwin
Became the holy cities lord
God's will it was done
Oh-oh
Expelled in Saladin's times
Another war and untold crimes
That place will never know peace
The butchery will never cease
Peter Tudebode was a Poitevin priest who was part of the First Crusade as part of the army of Raymond of Saint-Gilles. He wrote an account of the crusade, Historia de Hierosolymitano itinere, including an eye-witness account of the Siege of Antioch, edited in volume 155 of the Patrologia Latina.
I mainly listen to the classic rock of the 60's, 70's 80's and sometimes 90's. Helps me work. Not so much the modern stuff, except maybe Hip Hop. But the rock these days is shit.
I’m pretty sure this song highlights the reason they tell you not to smoke the marijuanas. I bet they had a whole boing of it to come up with these lyrics.

I am back to country music. This is not a fan favorite in California so it's part of my personal playlist. Back to Kane Brown and the country channel. Lord have mercy lol. Was at a point of rap/hip hop for a while but country songs came back a-knocking lol.
I really like this song lately, very atmospheric - arctic monkeys i wanna be yours
Lyrics I should’ve paid more mind to in the past

It hits a little close to home.Quote:
“ Listen!
Where are we to go from here in time?
Do you see the future? Do you know?
What can you expect from years to come?
And what can you do now to make it so?
All of history is there for you
All the deeds done in the world of men
If you don't know what has gone before
You'll just make the same mistake again and again and again
Soldier, soldier, see where we were
You have to know the story
Older or colder, life isn't fair
Got to grab the sword of glory
If you can't see what bloody fools we were
Then you are also born a bloody fool
Listen to the hundred million dead
They didn't know it, but they died for you
All you know is that you're young and tough
Don't you think those millions thought the same?
If you don't know where it all went wrong
You'll just make the same mistake again and again and again
Soldier, soldier, see where we were
You have to know the story
Older or colder, life ain't fair
Got to grab the sword of glory
Read the books, learn to save your life
How can you find the knowledge if you don't?
All the brave men died before their time
You'll either be a hero or you won't
You know in real life the only way
Is see why all those brave men died in vain
If all that slaughter doesn't make you sad
You'll just make the same mistake again and again and again
Soldier, soldier, see where we were
You have to know the story
Older or colder, life ain't fair
Got to grab the sword of glory
What do you want? What do you want?
You wanna be a soldier?
Ah, you wanna be a soldier?
You want to risk your life, so better make it right
You'll just make the same mistake
Again”
