It's a sad day, one my favorites artists died this morning. Rachid Taha, repose en paix. I used to gig as a Darboukah percussionist in weddings, and this was the song that taught me how to keep a groove. The song is in Arabic, and it sounds natural to me because I have a North African part of the family too, however the groove is time less. This song mainly takes me to a time when we played live music together, regardless of dirty politics and religious convictions:

I've been listening to a lot of Junun after seeing them live. It's a collaboration between Shye Ben Tzur (a poet/composer), Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead), the Rajasthan Express and Nigel Godrich. I've had their album and documentary on repeat for a while now.
