Photogs help me buy a camera!
I dropped my beloved Minolta G400 and now it doesn't work. It costs more to fix than it does to buy a working one on eBay, so I guess I'm in the market for a new camera!
I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations for a good camera? I'd like to be able to use it to take some nice shots of myself so I can start up my modeling portfolio again (all my good pics are circa 2004 and earlier), so it needs to be, I dunno, at least 5MP I guess?
Other things that are necessary:
- rechargeable battery, comes with charger
- takes unlimited video (well, for the length of the memory card, anyways)
- self-timer
Things that I'd like
- shock-proof!
- affordable...I'd like to spend less than $150 on a used one on eBay.
- 3x or more optical zoom
Thanks for any advice!
Oh, also, if you have one for sale, let me know! I am willing to pay more for higher quality.

H-P PhotoSmart R272 is under $200 and got PCWorld's top rating for point-and-shoot.

I love my Kodak EasyShare 603. Its my third Kodak and it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. I hated my Canon. Kodak is super easy to use and very consistent. Plus, its adorable.

I'm sure you can find one cheaper on Ebay, but the only camera I got from there was a PIECE OF CRAP!

I've got two cameras.. a nicer Panasonic DMC-FZ5, 5 megapixels.. 12x optical zoom with image stabilization. Love it for outdoor photos and long zoom shots.. but not as good for quick off-the-cuff indoor shots. So I got a Canon A540 for those types of pics. Very pleased with both..
There's SO many cams out there tho, you should be able to find something that hits all your needs.. I'd just stick with Canon, Nikon, Fuji or Panasonic..

Also I'd keep half an eye on your local Staples.. They clearance cameras constantly, and you can get some really good deals.
