Gah! Any of these Picture Phone Guys are total time wasters. The most legendary PPG I ever had was also a grabber and an incessant talker who got up and followed me when I tried to leave. He was waving his phone around, all "Look, and this one time, I got to touch a bear at the circus. See this picture of me touching a bear!" I guess he was just trying to fit in, because at my old club, attempts to show pics of one's various children and one's assortment of baby mammas was commonplace.

Re: do u know a time waster when u see one?
it kinds creeps me out when guys show me pictures of their kids in the first few minutes of conversation. it comes across as some kind of weird pick-up-technique. like he's trying to use his kids to show me his sensitive side. creep-a-riffic.
of course, if it's someone regular or the topic of kids comes up or something, then i don't mind. at that point it seems more genuine.

Re: do u know a time waster when u see one?
these are how to spot a time waster in 6 seconds
my personal experience is whenever i approach a customer and stand near him and he immediately slides around and tries to put his arm around me before i've even introduced myself.... this equals one thing: tight ass sleazebag
the other is when i guy tries to get my attention by saying ANTHING after the word hi eg. baby, sexy, beautiful, honey i don't even bother stopping.
One more is when a guy calls you over in hush hush tones and points to a friend, whispering in your ear, "That guy over there really wants a dance, go talk to him". he's just playing a joke on both his friend and you and wants to have a laugh at your expense

Re: do u know a time waster when u see one?
Anyone who says they love me within two seconds of speaking. Or someone who says they love me after seeing my ass.
Basically, anyone who says they love me... who isn't another dancer.

Oh god damn, I HATE that! Do they really think they're being helpful?
Most guys are really nice, at the worst they'll ignore you but I had some asshole that basically spent the day telling me I sucked at stripping when I'd been doing it for about a month. I mean, what the hell?
And if there's one thing strippers are good at, it's revenge }:D I made sure he didn't get any attention from anyone that day.

Re: do u know a time waster when u see one?
I've gotten meaner and meaner since I've started dancing. I used to be SUCH a pushover.
The other day it was dead, a saturday day shift. This couple (white trash deluxe too) comes in in the middle of my set, sit at one of the tables near the rack and don't tip me anything. We get through the rotation and I go up to the stage to wait for my next turn and it's obvious they didn't tip the other girl either. They're just sitting there, watching, drinking beer.
So I go up there and for my first song I do dance but I don't get naked. No tip. Second song I half ass dance and the third song I mostly walk around with a holy-fuck this is boring look on my face. Finally my set's over and I walk off the stage when the next girl comes on.
I walk by their table and the guy goes "hey! do you enjoy what you do?" (obviously implying that I don't). I smirked and said "yeah, I do, but it tends to be better when people are tipping" and walked off.
Loved the look on his face when he realized what I said wasn't friendly.
Also the other day a customer was being ridiculously grabby, tried tucking a dollar bill in the back of my underwear and I snatched it and threw it on the floor. Later he got more touchy and I yelled that I was kicking his ass out and got dressed right then and just stood there waiting for the next girl while listening to him say "sorry, sorry!" in whateverthefuck accent he had. ::)

Re: do u know a time waster when u see one?
I have a little trick for saving myself dissapointment, if you are on the border about a guy, ask him,
"so whats the most you've ever spent in one night at a strip club?"
I had a guy recently answer "geez, well , I must have spent at least $100 at this one club..." I held back a laugh and said "nice! so you want to break your record tonight or what?" he then said "sorry, but I don't have that kind of money on me tonight" I walked away, I guess he worked for McD's or something
PS: To put the "I just want to take you to dinner" time wasters in their place, you can say "sorry, I only date guys who I find attractive" lmaoooo

I have to disagree here on Vegas locals... I've actually found that I tend to make GOOD money with people from Vegas or California. I think one reason for it is that the cover charges and drink prices are usually a lot higher in Vegas & Cali than down here, so they come out thinking that it'll cost them $100 just for cover & drinks, and then they realize it'll only cost them $30, so they decide to spend the extra money on dances.
And not to be insulting, but it has been my observation that "Barbie dolls" don't do as well with Vegas or Cali guys. I've had several of them tell me that they like SCs here better than "back home" because "back home, all the strippers look the same. They're all skinny with fake boobs and they usually are blonde." They like dark hair and (surprisingly) smaller boobs. They're the ONLY group of people that doesn't spend very often on our "Barbies". I think they like something different.

Re: do u know a time waster when u see one?
I disagree on the guys who ask when you're up next on stage.
Many guys who ask me that are just trying to figure out how long they have me for until I get called back up.. so they can take me for a dance or danceS. If I'm up next song and tell them so, they'll ask me to come get them when I get off the stage. If I have time, they will ask if I'd like to go do a dance.
I have seen guys who wait until I'm on stage and want to head to the dance area after each set, too. I wouldn't assume that every guy only wants to spend singles on you when he asks when you're up next.

Re: do u know a time waster when u see one?
AHAHAHA!!! I LOVE THIS THREAD!!!!
I've only been dancing for a month, and last night I made the mistake of hanging out with the two biggest time wasters of all FOR 2 HOURS!!! The one dude kept pretending to be interested in a dance, and kept waiting for the top of the hour VIP special, until the very last one...he had about five minutes to decide, and once he FINALLY was like, "Yeah, lets do a dance," top of the hour ended and I was called onto stage . He got all mopey and was like, "But I've been waiting all night to spend some time with you, can't you wait to go on stage till afterward?" blah blah blah...I was just like, "Sorry, maybe next time you should make up your mind faster," and walked off. (Fortunately, if we don't make any money we get an hourly pay at the end of the night, which actually equaled more than what the dance would have.) But anyway, I've been PISSED OFF about since last night, feeling all disgruntled about how much fucking time I wasted on that stingy bastard, and I've been wondering to myself how to avoid ever getting stuck like that again and how to avoid those types of customers. Lo and behold, someone just HAPPENED to revive this thread!!! I'm LOVING all the awesome tips, and I feel so inspired to release my inner bitch!!! Thank you ladies!!!

Don't fret Emiloo, we were all new once upon a time, and by and large have all learned how to spend our time wisely the hard way. But, that's a whole 'nother thread ;]

Re: do u know a time waster when u see one?
I've gotten surprisingly better at this than I ever thought! I've noticed increased revenue since I've increased my "spidey-sense" :)
It's true that it comes with time!
-
Re: do u know a time waster when u see one?
Yay for the Spidey Sense! Saved me a couple nights ago...
This group of 6 or so guys came in and bought into VIP immediately. Great, I think, n I checked em out- turns out they were pilots in from outta town to teach some training classes. Super great, I think! But then, it all went to hell- I couldn't get anyone to commit to an hourly rate, all they wanted to know was what my hotel rate was. GRR. So I just did some regular dances for one of em instead, but still the entire time he's grabby and yammering on about his hotel. After 4 I was fed up, and convinced the group was crap when I had to aggressively prise my $80 for dances outta him, so I left pronto and put word out they were bums.
Fast forward to the end of the night, someone didn't hear me or didn't listen apparently... I caught the trail of another dancer's rant about being stiffed by em. I'm so glad I recognized the loser signs and got out relatively fast.

Re: do u know a time waster when u see one?
I wouldn't know what a time waster looks like becuz if they don't show me money in 30 secs I already moved on and forgot what that person looked like and the 1's who do show me money after a while if they are my regulars I might remember them (I have only 4 or 5 I know by thier actual name only becuz they are soo regular I can pay my bills according to thier paydays), but generally I remember them as Frankie, or Bengies ...Washintons I rarely even bother with.
I know I miss out on money that comes with those customers who have to warm up to you, but that time I would have spent or wasted on them I spend making money with some1 else ready and willing on the drop of a dime to hand it over to me.
-
Re: do u know a time waster when u see one?
"no, what's your real name?" is my pet peeve to the point i've smacked guys for it.
I avoid:
grabby
french
baggy gangsta with big fake chains and the sticker still on thier hat
too trendy clothing (especially on the 40-something fake tanned with frosted hair type- you dont even have to get close enough for them to grab you cuz they always do)
guys with bad jokes who think thier great (corny's ok, tho)
and anyone who thinks they have any kind of connection/ insight
i got one goooood! I ignore the I'm friends with the owner ones, but this one guy always wanted me to dance for him. After the first time I always said no to him, but one night he had pissed about 6 girls off by whipping his dick out on them during dances. So I volunteered and when he did it to me i smiled real big, then whacked him as hard as i could right on the dick! He actually complained to the manager who almost died laughing and gave me free house fee for a week and when the girls heard, i got a round of applause in the dressing room.

Re: do u know a time waster when u see one?
Sometimes, it's the "I need a few drinks first" guys.
For the most part at my new club I have stayed pretty busy, but last Thursday night was slow. I asked a guy and he gives me the "I'm not ready yet, I need a few drinks, but come back" So an hour goes by and he is still sitting alone with his beer, I go back and again he says he still needs a few more. Normally if it was busy, I wouldn't be wasting my time coming back again, but he kept tipping me on my stages and showing interest. SO, I come back over the THIRD time and say "So, are you buzzed enough to where I can take advantage of you yet?" And give a flirty smile/wink thing. "Ummm, no, I'm still not ready"
Ok I don't care how slow it is. Third time's a charm and I am not coming back.
I tell him "You know, if you don't want to get a dance from me, all you have to do is say no thank you...I'm a big girl"
Then he starts in on "Well, it's not that but...."blah blah blah......
At this point I don't care anymore. I interrupt him and say "Ok, thank you have a good night" and walk away....

Re: do u know a time waster when u see one?
The guys I make the most money from are bikers and off shore oil workers. They have wasted other girls' time, but not mine. I told one of them, "sure, I'll sit and talk to you but it isn't free." He laughed and handed over ($50 )money with every other song all the time I sat there. He does this now every time he comes in. Dude actually bought me a biker jacket for Christmas several years ago. Tips me really well when I wear that as a costume on stage.
Obvious gothic fakes are time wasters too....(if it looks like hot topic threw up on them....RUN)

Re: do u know a time waster when u see one?
From what I saw last nite, there are a few pool tables in the back. usually the guy who's all alone, shootin a game and not even looking at the stage will not buy dances. found this out the hard way.
now some of the guys who start telling you how beautiful you are and start telling you all about them arent time wasters. this one guy was a combo and ended up buying 5 VIP(private) dances from me, tipping me everytime I went on stage.
there was another guy braggin about how he restores cars and had over 30k invested on more than one car. i was kinda of skeptical, but then when i went on stage, he stood at the end of our little catwalk (its at a height where if we're on our back doing some leg trick we're usually right at their goober lol.:P) and i was dancing for him and he was throwing out $1's right after another for as long as i danced for him. that was cool. and that was every time i went on stage.
Ill keep a lot of these tips in mind, I dont mind sitting and chatting, but if in the first few minutes it doesnt go anywhere, long awkward silences, im the only one talking, ill say "It was nice chatting with you!" and leave. :D
i agree with above, this thread is a gold mine, and great for newbies like me!

Hey. I've been dancing for 5 years, and I still found this very helpful!

Re: do u know a time waster when u see one?
"Let me see you on stage first", usually means he'll wait till you leave him alone so he can escape.
