Specific goals and accountability
Mods, feel free to move this if you deem it necessary. :)
This is the thread for us to post our goals for the next shift, week, etc. and then report on how it went. I'm finding that when I decide on a few specific things to focus on, and make a point of writing them down and holding myself accountable, things usually go better for me. Lately I've been fucking LAZY, and I'm hoping this will give me a kick in the butt.
Join me, won't you? :) They can be monetary goals ("I intend to make $500 this Friday night"), quantity goals ("my goal is to get 25 dances tonight"), or behavior goals ("I'm going to limit myself to two breaks per night for the next week"), consistency goals ("I'm going to suggest VIP to every custy I get a dance with tomorrow night")...whatever you want!
Okay. My next shift is Thursday night, and my goals are:
1. fill out a schedule card for next week.
That way I can't do the "i don't feel like working tonight..." crap anymore. It will also force me to manage my time during the rest of the week, because I know I can't say "well, I'll just screw around today, and do xyz on Sunday instead of going to work."
2. No dressing-room breaks.
My shift on Thurs is only 6 hours. That's not a long time; there's no reason for me to be wasting time in the dressing room.
3. NO bothering the DJ, or hanging out in the DJ booth.
If I want to make changes to my song card, I can get to work a few minutes before we open on Sunday and do it then.
4. Actually put some effort into my appearance before going to work.
Nuff said. I'm going to use my break between class and work to give myself a little home spa treatment--condition my hair, use self-tanner, wax/epilate, exfoliate, moisturize, etc.... instead of haphazardly patching myself together and stumbling into the club looking rather ordinary if not unkempt.
5. NO sitting at the bar.
If I want a drink, I have to get it by sitting with a custy and having him buy me one.
I'll do monetary goals next week. This week I just need to get back to basics and back into making every minute COUNT instead of wasting time at work.
Re: Specific goals and accountability
1. prepare myself for work, BEFORE i get there
2. approach every customer, regardless of how i feel about them when i look at them/if they ignore me wen i look at them/if they look away wen i look at them.
3. actually do some exercise...

yep, i need to steal that one from you too. god, i dunno what happened to my motivation and confidance the past week when talkign to guys.
id also like to make $500 each night i work.
oh, and stay after 3am, if theres still money in the room.
Re: Specific goals and accountability
I like this thread, cool idea! If you want to meet a deadline, make it public so everyone knows about it...
1) Work 3 more shifts this week and 5 next week.
2) Earn a total of $5000.
3) Make time for hair and nail salons.
Night #1 (yesterday): I made $530. Good start.
Re: Specific goals and accountability
I've only been dancing a month, so I'm going to set goals which are easily achievable.
1. I want to make atleast the same amount I pay as house fee on Saturday night, which is £70. That only means I have to do a minimum of 14 dances all night on Saturday, which isn't exactly difficult.
2. Smile, nobody is going to want to buy dances off me if I continue looking like it's the last place in the world I want to be and that I'd rather be pulling my teeth out with pliars than dancing for them.
3. Approach more customers, don't get lethargic. Don't waste my time chatting to the other dancers or talking to guys who aren't spending. Float from group to group, smile, ask how their night's going, where they're from, then ask which one of them would like to see me naked first. If the guys don't want a dance, don't take it personally or let it derail me. Thank them, smile, tell them I'll see them later and that I hope they have a good night, then off to the next group.

Re: Specific goals and accountability
I am going to start working 8-2, M-F. No more just taking off when I want to, just because. I wanna have planned weekends off, so I can enjoy that time with my husband and not worry about how much money I need b/c i missed a day. I have never been to work earlier than 8:30 (usually 10). So the past few days I have been in an hour earlier, and I am working my way up to 8.
Re: Specific goals and accountability
My only goal for work is always MORE MONEY. That motivates me to do everything I can to meet that goal. Keep up appearance, adjust attitude, keep working all shift no matter how much I've made (or not made), be careful of politics, etc.
I don't have a set dollar goal per shift or week because 1) that encourages one to slack off once the goal is reached and 2) it is a source of feeling defeated if the goal is not reached (and therefore causing me to make even less in following days) - basically I see dollar goals as a hindrance to making the MOST I can.
So I always get ready and go in with the desire to make MORE. Not more than yesterday or last week or last year, just MORE. Always MORE. So it makes me keep going all night long, even when it's slow or I'm having a hard time, OR if I'm having a great night I keep going because I always want MORE.
This "goal" makes me always strive to do my best in all ways and that's the best I can do :)
Re: Specific goals and accountability
2 out of 3 so far, still slacking on the exercise but my belly roll getting in my way tonight is more than enough motivation!
had a good night despite it being shit night in the club and its because i didnt drink, stayed positive, approached everyone and didnt go home early
didnt make much but i made more than i would have if id had a worse attitude.
Re: Specific goals and accountability
My Goals For the rest of this week are.............
#1 No Dressing room breaks
#2 make 1500 hundred before Monday
#3 Get nails done
Re: Specific goals and accountability
My goals for tonite are to try out the sales techniques ive been reading up on , on every customer. Not getting depressed or angry with the losers who are cheap or abusive and to smile smile smile!! :)
Re: Specific goals and accountability
I like this thread! My weekend goals are.
Today I will get to work on time. I will not spend a lot of time with the same customer that doesn't spend money (a lot of the guys in this club really piss me off) I will smile, smile, smile and then smile somemore. I will take 1 15 minute break then Iwill be back on the floor. I will NOT PLAY MEGATOUCH and I will not get frustrated when guys piss me off. I will not sit and the bar and I will not guy myself any drinks.
Re: Specific goals and accountability
my new goal, stop being so bloody nice! i get taken advantage of and its why the other girls in my club get the money, they dont take bullshit from the guys, they pretty much demand their money wen the guy starts bargaining/whineing/playing dumb. most of the guys in my club love to get something for nothing.

i'd have to say most people in general love the something for nothing concept, but it doesn't happen often!
Re: Specific goals and accountability
OK, so I was absolute shite as far as every single goal I wrote down. yikes!
Several things threw me off on Thursday though. First off, the announcement that they were weeding out the music collection. They're trying to go towards playing mostly dance music, and had gotten rid of a lot of music over the week. So I made FAR more than one trip to the DJ booth. Asking "is this song still here? Can I see what's left in the Latin folder? Please tell me they still have some Santana! aww, they got rid of the Maroon 5; ok, can you play me some Tatu instead?" I still need to make a new dance card though.
The one "goal" that I neglected to write down is the one goal I actually accomplished! gotta love irony. My goal was to convince a manager to change my stage name. I'd been using my real name for the past few months, and it was really messing with my hustle. I can't hustle for real when there's a big part of the real me in the club. If I'm going to get into character, I've got to do it 100%, and that includes having a stage name that's different from my own. When I hear everyone in the club calling me by my real name, I just feel like...me. And that messes with my head and my confidence, and makes me a terribly ineffective salesperson. So...I did talk to them, and they did let me change it! :)
Failed miserably at taking some extra care with my appearance as well. I once again slopped myself together and dashed into the club--wearing the only outfit I have (now that I retired all the outfits that were ratty and/or unflattering), no tan, and hadn't washed my hair that morning, so it was all piecy and blah.
Also failed at limiting myself to one dressing room break for my 8-hour shift.
But, the money was easy yesterday. I didn't get rejected once! And only one group was really set on wasting my time--99% of the guys I talked to were totally straightforward: greeting, introduction, 2 minutes of chitchat, let's go for a dance!
I got one CR as well, and didn't even have to ask for it--he suggested it :) Nice break! I also asked every one of my LD custies if they'd like another after the first dance--half of them said yes. Not bad there!
Ended up making $250...BUT, that got me thinking. If I'd been more persistent, how much MORE could I have made? That $250 was surprisingly easy to get--how much more could it have been if I'd worked harder?
Re: Specific goals and accountability
onward and upward. goals for Sunday:
1. same goals again as last time.
2. Get to the club early and make a new dance card BEFORE the shift starts. That will leave me with NO excuse to waste time in the DJ booth. All the new songs will be on the card, so I have no reason to be constantly coming back there saying "can you play x y and z?" I also need a new one b/c of the name change.
3. Ask every custy that gets an LD if they'd like another. Ask with CONFIDENCE, and eye contact...more like telling/suggesting than asking. ;)
4. Do not sit with guys that aren't buying. If they're getting my company for free, why would they pay for it? Don't sit with a custy who isn't buying within 3 songs.
5. Approach EVERYONE...use the Minesweeper analogy that 21stcenturyfox so cleverly came up with and posted in Stripping General :)
6. Slow it up during LDs! Draw the time out more, add more tease to it; only start really grinding toward the end. I still find myself moving way too quickly during LDs, and have to check myself. I actually get better responses most of the time when I do more tease and less grind...and it seems weird, but I was getting more repeat dances when I was doing less contact!
Re: Specific goals and accountability
good ones picaresque, you and i seem to be on the same level! :D
my goals for tonight:
1. approach everyone and dont forget my own strippers minesweeper!
2. do not drink too much or hang out with my friend insted of working
3. do not sit with guys who are not spending
4. be more ruthless, dont let the guys walk all over me
5. tease more, less contact to get repeat dances.
remember:
"we're going to hav so much fun tonight!"
"you'd LOVE a hot sexy dance right now, wouldnt you!"
SMILE, LAUGH, FLIRT, CONFIDENT, SEXY, SENSATIONAL! :D
