Let's have a Drink first...
What do you girls say to customers like this? Some guys mean well by wanting to drink and then get dances but how do you know for sure? I rarely drink at work but at times I feel like when I do, it feels like I'm wasting my time waiting on the customer to finish his beer. Its a waste of my time to sit w/ a guy for a song or two, ask for the dance, and then hear, "lets get a drink first" Majority of the time they really do get a dance but they aren't multiples. Any suggestions?

Re: Let's have a Drink first...
I hate that.
I will try to sell the VIP: "we can have drinks back there!"
Or I have the best results with: "How about I work up a thirst with you first!"
If that doesn't work, I tell them I don't like to drink at work because I having to keep taking potty breaks, but I'd love to come find them later when they are done with their drink.

Re: Let's have a Drink first...
ive learned now that theyre more than likely stalling. i only stay for a drink if he's like one of the only 5 custys in the club so ive got nothing to lose by sticking around.
i always wonder why you would pay the extortionate prices for the drinks in my club insted of saving that money to buy dances???
WHY IN THE HELL ARE GUYS GOING TO STRIP CLUBS THESE DAYS!? it baffles me. youre NOT there to drink expensive drinks, so spend your goddamned money! lol

Re: Let's have a Drink first...
"Catch me later - IF you can!"
...as I'm bouncing off to the next target. These guys are a waste of time. Would you rather spend that time with that guy for the ONE dance he MIGHT buy, or spend it seeking out better targets?

Re: Let's have a Drink first...
I use something like "How about you just bring a drink with you so you can have your drink in one hand, (start the soft, sexy husky voice here) ...and hot naked little me in your other? - It will be this perfect moment in time for you baby" Thats enough to usually get them pretty quickly out of their seat and i find they have usually forgotten about the drink by the end of my sentence!

Re: Let's have a Drink first...
I'll do it on a slow night but not on a busy one. I have a limit of 2 alcoholic drinks per night and most nights I don't even drink any alcohol at all.
But some customers are worth investing some time in. The other week on a tuesday it was very slow and I chatted to a customer and had two drinks with him after which he asked me for a dance. He ended up spending about $500 on me and is coming back to see me this week :)

Re: Let's have a Drink first...
It depends how fast he drinks:P

Re: Let's have a Drink first...
argh, I hate that! No, let's NOT have a drink. I'm trying to lose weight, and that's not going to happen if I'm drinking every night at work. I don't even enjoy drinking alcohol--I hate the taste, I hate feeling my throat burning, I hate being dehydrated...fuck it!
But some of these custys act like I'm just ruining their whole night if I order something non-alcoholic. ::) I'm thinking of taking off my wristband and just telling them, sorry, I'm not 21. (I just turned 23 last month and I still get people guessing me to be 19-20...it could work.)

Guys like that are just angry because their whole goal is to get you drunk so that you will sleep with them. A guy who is going to get angry for you not drinking alcohol is a waste of time and is just trying to play the player.
I get this a lot because I look very young and have a very sweet/innocent persona about me at work. In reality, I am 21 years old and figured out 90% of the b.s. that males will do in an attempt to get laid by the time I was 15.

That's the million dollar question. I have no clue what, if anything, is going through their minds.

Kinda depends on the club and the legality of pushing drinks. In some clubs where it's legal, a dancer is required to push drinks to fill a certain quota. I sorta (well not really) sympathize with a customer who walks into one club where that pressure is applied and then walks into another where the dancer's impatient with the same activity. But yeah, most of the time that's not the issue.

Re: Let's have a Drink first...
if it's slow and i feel like i want a drink i'll order one. i only order shots anymore though (real or fake) so i can get away quickly if i need to without being rude and taking a full drink along.
if it's busy then i'll politely tell them that i've got too many dances waiting for me.

Re: Let's have a Drink first...
I don't really mind this, probably because it works well with my hustle. I'm a really good talker and I can use the ten minute drink to make him feel comfortable and chat up the VIP. But I work in a club where there a lot of older men who are truly gentleman, and I don't think they're doing this to stall. I think they want a scotch or whatever, to relax, and they're being polite and offering me a drink like they would to a girl in a bar.
If I worked in a club, which I have, where it was younger/ cheaper guys, I would interpret this move as a stall or them wanting a drinking buddy.
Have a drink with them, be friendly, when you see they're half way done with a drink, start talking up dances. If they don't bite, then thank them for the drink, finish it and walk away politely.
It all depends on the club, like I said. If you notice time after time getting a drink means they don't want a dance, stop.
But I look at it like obviously they have interest in you if they want to buy you a drink and talk to you.
Remember you don't always have to drink alcohol. My club has a "code drink" that doesn't have alcohol. You can do it as a drink or a shot. Also, I will ask for a "redbull on ice" and say it kind of quickly, and they don't know if I ordered a vodka redbull or what. If I drank alcohol every timea guy bought me a drink I would be vomiting in a garbage can by midnight.

Re: Let's have a Drink first...
If he just got there, let him finish his drink and come back later.
If he has been rotting for a while, tell him that he can take his drink to the VIP.
If he wants you to drink and he is not paying you, fuck that. (If you are thirsty, use him for water. Chug it and run like the wind.)
I only drink in VIP rooms because I don't want to be that sloppy, drunk ass, cracked out stripper walking around, embarrassing herself, and having a nightly total of $42. If you want me to drink, there is a price. And it's only champagne/sparkling wine.

Re: Let's have a Drink first...
I don't drink and get hasseled for it sometimes, when they start to hassel me i just tell them i am a cheep drinker and that they can spend their money on dances instead.
-
Re: Let's have a Drink first...
yeah, why spend your money on drinks wen you could be having way more fun buying dances with the same money.
-
Re: Let's have a Drink first...
The guys that want a drink, IMO, are the same ones that will try to date you... because, see, they're not the evil bad man who only buys dances, they're the cool guy who wants to get to know you first!
-
Re: Let's have a Drink first...
Wow, I'm surprised that I have such a different view on this from everyone. I take it as such a good sign when a guy asks to buy me a drink. Maybe I am mis interperting this, are you guys saying he wants to buy you a drink instead of a dance? In that case I would run like the wind!! I am thinking of when I sit down at a table and introduce myself, and the man introduces himself, then immediately asks if Iwould like a drink... I always take that as polite, and my club has quick waitresses, so to drink a drink takes like 10 minutes from time of order. Also, I don't feel obligated at all to drink alcohol, I am a giant whore for redbull and am always happy to get one of those.

Re: Let's have a Drink first...
^^^^
No IMO many men see it as old-school gentlemenly behaviour to offer a lady a drink.
Yes some are time-wasters but IMO you can usually tell.

Re: Let's have a Drink first...
Oh if a 60-80 year old man offers me a drink I usually accept... you can tell by the way a guy presents himself... usually when they offer champagne or something and smile sweetly.. hard to explain... those guys take time but they spend big.

Totally worth the investment. If it's a young guy be cautious with investing too much time in the drinking and chatting.

Re: Let's have a Drink first...
I don't drink, ever, so I get out of that situation most of the time. If a guy gets offended that I didn't want to have a beer/wine/whatever, he usually isn't a good prospect for me. This usually only happens with younger guys though, older guys don't seem to have a problem with me staying sober and retaining the ability to converse.

Re: Let's have a Drink first...
OK so how about we say.... "sorry i only drink when i am up in VIP?" Gonna give this one a go tonight. Will report back.
