I Auditioned - Several ?'s
So I finally got up the nerve to audition at a local club. I'd say it's somewhere in the middle. It's by the airport though so it seems like there's a lot of men from out of town on business - at least half the guys I talked to were. If anyone's in Columbus, OH area I'm at Centerfolds hoping to move to Kahoots when I get a little more experience.
According to the other girls I did really well but I'm afraid to try anything crazy although some of the pole tricks looked really cool. Honestly though, the girls doing the acrobatics didn't seem to make much more than those that did it but I'd still like to learn. When/where can I do this? I don't want to go out and buy a pole as a newbie but I don't want to practice and fall on my face in front of custy's and new coworkers either.
Also, oddly enough, this is a gown club for most of the week - ankle length. I don't have a problem with investing in some stripper wear but if I'd like to move to regular topless club in the next year I don't know if I want to buy a whole bunch of gowns. I've tried looking on ebay without much luck. Any tips? I could always start out at a different club but I've already auditioned here.
It wasn't a bad first day - I only made $80 but I was only working for 4 hours and half the time I was standing around just trying to figure out what the hell was going on - lol. Custys weren't bad - I got 2 dances from an out of town guy who was alright until he started getting really drunk and then he kept looking like he was going to try to kiss me at which point I'd just hide behind my drink.
And does anyone else feel like they're being really repetitive when they first start. It's like the same moves for a minute and then repeat. Is this just a newbie thing? Do other people notice?
Re: I Auditioned - Several ?'s
I can't help with finding the gowns.
If you want to learn pole tricks, the first advice any lady here will give you is to watch at work. You can also ask if you're allowed to come in before the club opens (or after it closes if possible) to just practice either on your own, or ask a good pole tricker at your club to work with you. You could also go to Alena Down's website polejunkies.com, or check her out on youtube under the name "AlenaDowns". Alena has some of her videos up on here in the Picture sections, and she's taught a couple of ladies here how to pole dance and feature. She's also a member here, so you could also PM her. Pole videos are also available to purchase.
As far as being repetitive, yes, we've all been there. Most guys don't care as long as you look sexy. And you're right about the pole trickers not making much more, if any more, than the non pole monkeys do on stage. Guys are simple creatures, so they don't pay too much attention to that and those ladies mostly do it because it's fun. Most customers that tip for pole work usually are:
Other dancers as custys in the club
RARELY some guys
Women
Good luck!
