Re: Girl Scout Cookie Time!!
I LOVE Girl Scout Cookies! I was in NJ for a booking this weekend, and my boyfriend called to ask what kind of cookies I wanted. I got some Thin Mints and more than 1 box of Samoas (now they're Caramel Delights, whatever). I chowed down on some of them as soon as I got home from the airport.
So good........
Re: Girl Scout Cookie Time!!
They took all the trans fat out. I might just give in this year. Still fattening but still yummy.

:yummy:
I have four boxes of thin mints and two boxes of Trefoils to polish off. So much for cutting down on sugar for Lent.

I am so looking forward to buying a few dozen boxes to hold me over til next year! Also, I'm pretty sure they're still doing that "donate a box" to soldiers overseas thing. I always try to donate a few box to the men and women who are away from the comforts of home - and living without Girl Scout Cookies!
That's what I need to do, because I wanted to buy more boxes, but I just didn't know what to do with all of them!!
I'll have to go back over the weekend and hopefully they're there again!

Yeah, I was in NJ, dreaming of the Girl Scout Cookies here in TN! I was kinda bummed about how my weekend ended up, so I would have gladly taken the cookies your man can't have. I think I need to go downstairs and grab a Samoa or two.
Re: Girl Scout Cookie Time!!
What are those peanut butter ones called... umm I could go for that.
Oh and in Australia Arnotts has a very similar line, but they are not sold by the Girl Guides.
Re: Girl Scout Cookie Time!!
OMG, frozen Tagalongs... with cold skim milk...
Re: Girl Scout Cookie Time!!
Mmmmm, Girl Guide cookies.......*drools*

That's really nice. I just sent my hubby 4 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies overseas. I was suppose to send more but I kept some for myself.::)
Re: Girl Scout Cookie Time!!
Yum! Thin Mints are the best!
Re: Girl Scout Cookie Time!!

Re: Girl Scout Cookie Time!!
Oh no, oh no, oh no..........
Re: Girl Scout Cookie Time!!
I just ate 3 Samoas, they were frozen and oh so good. I put my Thin Mints in the freezer too, so they'll be waiting on me all cold and wonderful.
Re: Girl Scout Cookie Time!!
Hehe, it's funny how some former Girl Scouts turned out to be strippers. I used to be a Girl Scout too, back in the 80's. One year I sold the most cookies out of my troop and I won a stuffed animal-an ostrich called Henrietta. I think my mom still has it somewhere. LOL
I love Girl Scout cookies. Thin Mints are definitely my favorite kind. They have a lot of the same cookies as they did when I was a kid, they just changed the names on a lot of them. Samoas used to be Caramel Delites, Tagalongs used to be Peanut Butter Patties, and Trefoils used to be Shortbreads.
When I was a kid, I used to go door-to-door in my neighborhood to sell cookies. It seems like they don't really do that anymore.

Its for the same reason we don't get trick-or-treaters anymore either. Kind of a sad statement of how the world is getting.
It seems Moms are doing most of the armwork nowadays. Both girls I bought cookies from just had their moms put a cookie order sheet in our break room at work. I honestly have never seen an actual Girl Scout come to my door in years.
Here's something I'm kind of ambivalent on. Secondary GS cookie sales (often whole cases) popping up on eBay, which the GS explicitly discourage.

Granted its robbing girls of the experience of selling the cookies (which is really what the cookie campaign is supposed to be about), but you think this could be impeded somewhat if the GS would find a more efficient way to sell cookies, like offer them online themselves AFTER the local scouts have made their rounds. Some people don't have easy access to a scoutmother.
Re: Girl Scout Cookie Time!!
They sell cases of GS cookies on EBAY?? Damn.....
Re: Girl Scout Cookie Time!!
I will not get on ebay. I will not get on ebay. I will not get on ebay.
Re: Girl Scout Cookie Time!!

Re: Girl Scout Cookie Time!!
I have always been so intrigued by American Girl Scout cookies. There are so many different kinds... I would love to try them.
In Canada there are only the classic cookies that are white cookie with white cream or chocolate cookie with chocolate cream that get sold in the springtime, and then the newer minty chocolate ones that they sell in the fall.
Re: Girl Scout Cookie Time!!
Tagalongs ( the Peanut butter cookies) dunked in a nice glass of hot coco, so the chocolate and peanut butter start to melt......Mmmmmmmmm
