Re: Just a few questions...
Never heard of a bouncer driving a girl home, just calling a cab. 50 bucks is fifty bucks. Better you you then to the cabby I guess.
Re: Just a few questions...
At most of the clubs where I have worked it was very common for girls to tip bouncers and for customer to tip them for finding them a table on crowded nights or bringing them a girl of their liking, or opening there champane(sp).
Re: Just a few questions...
I tip bouncers only when they've actually done SOMETHING!!! My old club had freakin' fantastic bouncers who were constantly backing you up. I mean, they were reprimanding wandering hands during LD's before I even had a chance to say anything. One time, while onstage, a guy smacked my ass - the bouncer was literally ON TOP of the dude before I even fully turned around! I always tipped them out.
At both of my new clubs, though, the bouncers are useless wastes of flesh. I mean, USELESS. They sit and stare off into space or watch the stage (and not in a helpful way, but in a zoned-out way). On the rare occasion where they reprimand a customer, I'll tip them (and I've tried tipping them immediately after the dance with the incident is over, in an attempt to reinforce this behavior, like giving the puppy a treat, but it seems to have no effect), but never otherwise. And walk us to our cars? HA! I'm 100% sure it's never even crossed their minds.
I mean, I literally had two items of clothing STOLEN from me IN the LD area while the bouncer was apparently picking his fucking nose. We all had the pleasure of watching it clear as day on the security cameras later. He never even apologized. I'm sure it never occurred to him that keeping an eye on the LD room might be part of his job.
Can you tell this has been bugging me recently? ;) In a nutshell: happy to tip if anything at all is done to help us. Sit there and use up vital oxygen for no reason, HELL no.
Re: Just a few questions...
Is this a smaller club? The club I work at is fairly small and I think the smaller the club the more personal it is. And NOT personal as in sexually, but personal as in friendships. I've seen plenty of incidents where a girl got too sick to drive or even passed out and the bouncers or floormen we call them, drove the girls home. I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: Just a few questions...
At my club in Vegas, the valet guys will give girls rides home if the girl don't have a car, or don't want to take a cab. At the small club I worked at in WV, the bouncers took me home quite often. If I were to drunk to drive, they would not only take me home, but pick me up the next day for work.
Re: Just a few questions...
At my club the boss sometimes has to have the bouncer take a girl home if they're too drunk..if she was left in the club all night she may cause an issue or at the very least it looks bad. When you work at a club that there isn't 1 person assigned to 1 job ...everybody is doing everything.Shit I play house -mom/psychiatrist/maid/nurse/hostess.......the list goes on.I once had to take a girl to the hospital. If you trust your guy then no biggy...
Re: Just a few questions...
Sometimes bouncers drive girls home. In some clubs, it might be part of the job description. The girls are of course, expected to pay for that.
But most of the time the girls just pay bouncers for in-club services like hooking us up with good spending customers.
I love how the girlfriend uses "we" in reference to benefitting from HIS job ::)

I'm sorry, but after reading your previous posts, I don't think your insecurities are "petty" at all..I wouldn't worry because he's a bouncer driving girls home (not standard practice as far as I know but if a girl is too wasted to drive home it might be considered part of the job)...I would worry because this guy seems to be no good...I don't mean to be sticking my nose in your business but really, run as fast as you can...
Re: Just a few questions...
I don't think giving rides home is ever part of a bouncer's job description. Legally, they may have a carry different auto insurance if it was. The bouncers may be asked to take somebody home, just as a boss could tell someone in an office to run to Office Depot for supplies.
As Kaiarose & Kaylinn stated, sometimes friendships are formed, and friends carpool. When I was a bouncer, I drove girls home. As a DJ, I still do it. If time permits, I'll pick them up too. That way I know I have dancers at the club on time! ;D

Re: Just a few questions...
my bf is a bouncer, most of the clubs he's worked at tipping security is required by the girls, its just part of tipout. i've tipped bouncers extra before for little things too, like walking me to my car. outside the club and out of the parking lot, they are never required to do anything extra besides the job description: keeping us safe. it sounds like your fiance is just a nice guy. :)
Re: Just a few questions...
I've worked at clubs that don't let you tip the bouncers. The one I'm at now wants you to only tip the one who walks you to your car. I've never had a bouncer HAVE to give a ride home, that I can recall.... but some do to be nice. It really depends on the club in question.
