Carbs keep you feeling fuller longer because most people eat a LOT of carbs, they expand the quickest in the stomach...making you feel almost TOO full...and who wants to eat when they are too full? And carbs DO NOT keep you fuller longer. They raise your blood sugar and then cause you to crash. Protein and fat (but keep them healthy) keep you fuller longer.
You proved it yourself in your own post. You eat pasta and then you go to sleep. That would be the crash after the high.

pasta and water. and put lime slices in the water. I alsolike big fresh strawberries to munch on at work so I steal them from the kitchen atthe club.

i think its down to the person.
I lost 31 lbs over the past few months on a diet where we could eat unlimited amounts of pasta and vegetables and 2 portions of calcium a day, along with a controlled amount of other foods. the weight just dropped off me, and i struggled to eat the full amount that they suggested i should eat.
yet from what i hear this diet would make some girlies put on just the same amount of weight.
If you find something that works for you then stick to it: if you think pasta gives you better energy then thats great :)

Oh no doubt that you can lose weight that way. Sounds like you were on a controlled calorie diet.
I just know for me, that I don't want to limit the amount of food I eat; I have to limit what I eat due to my hypoglycemia so limiting anything else would just depress the heck out of me.
BTW, congrats on that weight loss!

I fall asleep after eating ANYTHING...pasta, steak, chocolate, pussy...If I'm full...I'm sleeping. There is no high in between!
I'll simplify everything...nobody eat pasta then...everyone just eat Chocolate nonstop, Red Bull, and Sex Shots.

No, but really, I used to weigh 180 lbs and I lost 60 in almost no time by eating pasta, bread, etc. I didn't limit myself. I just kept myself full with carbs and lost it all.

Wow, that's so funny, everybody's body is so different! If that works for you, go for it! Personally, pasta sits like a rock in my stomach and makes me bloated. Which is surprising, because I'm Italian, but hey.

I'm trying to figure out the point of making sure you only have 200 calories before work in pasta.... you're working out at work.. dancing a lot.. sweating... not eating again for 8 hours... you'd want more than that, certainly.

I eat pasta for breakfast some mornings. Helps with my energy for the day, especially if I am going for a run later. Yea I do have the crash later if I dont eat other things, like veggies and fruit.
Pasta before work helps me out a lot. Not tired and then when that crash does hit later, its tip out time and off to bed. It works for me.

I've been cooking (and thus naturally eating) wholemeal pasta with steamed vegies with some melted marg (not alot) and parmeasan cheese before work and finding that it is defiantely a help!
I don't fall asleep and it does energise me and helps me feel full for longer.
