love my job!
Right now I'm counting out the money from tonight... putting it into the 'bills' envelope, the 'credit card debt' envelope and the 'savings/taxes' envelope.
I just wrote a check for the start of one of my student loan payments. The other monthly student loan bill I have is higher than my rent. But I can afford to easily pay off all three of those things monthly.
Right now I'm eyeing a $200 watch... but I'll wait and just pick it up the next time I net $650.
Two days ago I sat down with a good friend of mine and told her that if she decides she wants the experience, then I will buy her ticket to Burning Man. :)
After this I'm going to work on updating my resume... all of the volunteer work I've been doing during the day for the past several months is really paying off! I actually have a ridiculous abundance of opportunities in this area.
Since I graduated last May, I've only asked my mom for money for two things: $500 toward filling a cavity and $200 toward my bed linens/mattress pad (I covered the other $100 myself).
I just can't believe that I'm not even a year out of college (liberal arts at that!) and already I have so many freaking opportunities in my life. I definitely live below my means but that means living comfortably, especially at my age. I'm so grateful that I have the opportunity to focus and carve out a really great future for myself.
Just wanted to start this thread for other girls to post their inspirational bits. It's late/early right now and I'm just so happy. :)

Re: love my job!
That's awesome! It's really nice to read a happy post, lol. We do so much venting that sometimes this place just feels like Bitchfest :)
You sound very happy and on the right track, just keep that living below your means attitude and you'll be set.

Re: love my job!
Me too, me too! Love a positive thread.
Last night, I was giving this guy dances at the end of the night when this really nostalgic/chipper song came on. He had such positive energy it made me remember why I thought this job was fun in the first place.
Sometimes in the middle of the rat race of the night, I forget to have fun.
