I'm so tired of this type of customer!
The ones who are just SO sure that they can buy you! Ugh! I haven't seen a certain customer for a few months so I forgot he was like this... He texted me the other day and said he was in town and if I wanted to get together. I texted back that Thursday was good (I always and only work thursdays at the club I met him at... I've never seen him OTC). He texts back, "Okay, what time and where?" UGH! I haven't responded yet because I'm not sure if it's even worth my time. Obviously at the CLUB, you idiot! Then he texts and offers his home as the meeting place! I still haven't responded. Any advice? Maybe something simple like, "I meant at *insert the name of the club here* and *time* is good for me"?
Re: I'm so tired of this type of customer!
Just say "why don't we have dinner/hang out at xyz club, I'm on schedule that night and I can't get out it and I'd really like to hang out with you". If he says no then say, sorry, I have to work that night. When I first started I had so much more tolerance and patience and now I'm basically this is how it is, take it or leave it, not seeing you OTC. Of course I don't say it like that but that's my attitude, I just keep inviting them back to the club and when they don't come back anymore then time to move to the next one!
Re: I'm so tired of this type of customer!
I'm just trying to decide if he's worth it. Argh, he may just come in to hang out and not spend money and be like, "what, you asked me to come in!" He's always bought four or five dances, which isn't HUGE but I'd rather take it than leave it.... but then again, he always made me talk to him before and after and I had to dodge all his attempts to meet me OTC. Decisions, decisions... A regular (as in, every time I work he spends at least $100 with NO hustling) is going to be out of town this week, so I guess that's why I'm considering it.
Re: I'm so tired of this type of customer!
Tell him you'll be at the club from xx-xx. When he comes in, if its dead, hang out and get your dances. If its busy, just say hello and make your money until you want a break. Then sit with him for his required time alottment, and get your dances. Win/win if he comes in.
If he gets mad that you don't want to meet him at home, act offended. If he doesn't get it, fuck him, its not that much $$$.
Re: I'm so tired of this type of customer!
I get guys like that all the time. They spend money in the club and seem ok so I exchange numbers. They come back to the club again, and then the next time they call and ask when I'll be back in town and if I want to go to lunch. They always have an excuse to why they can't come in.
We have to face the reality here. Guys DON'T like coming in the club. They are searching for girls that they can spend out of the club time with. They don't analyze our business and see that we are just there to make money and don't and can't possibly hook up with every guy that likes us.
What gets me is that these guys are so much not our types for the most part. The smart guys know that if they are much older and fat, they don't have what it takes to be our boyfriends.
Many guys just don't want to accept the fact that this is a business and not a social arena.
I worked with one female DJ the other week who was a real sweetheart. She had LOT'S of game and constantly reminded the guys to tip or the stage would be shut down, that the girls weren't prostitutes and no way were they going home with any of the customers, to not ask for dates or to see my girls outside the club, no biting and grabbing, and to sit back and remember that a strip club is a place to have fun, enjoy a few drinks, and have some dances.
I wish that push were made at every club with conviction.
The business is slowing down, and I'm seeing less of the regular clientele. It seems like these guys are discouraged, and no longer want to come to the club once they see that they don't have a chance to develop a relationship with us OTC. It's no fun to them.
Re: I'm so tired of this type of customer!
Honestly, I don't go to work to make friends. I'm sure you don't either. If you want, tell him, " I would love to go to dinner with you on that nite! But I really need to make some money at work..... I hate to ask this, but do you think you could take care of me with 500 dollars if we do that?"
If he says no, fuck it, he wasn't going to spend money anyway. I also reccommend taking a cab wherever you are going so he can not follow you or get your liscence plate number.

well, you can pull out the, "yes, i totally *want* to hang out with you but i have to make money here. <insert sad face>. *sigh*"
and that^ works like a freakin' charm.
Re: I'm so tired of this type of customer!
Tell him to come to the club, if he doesn't spend, ignore him.

Text him back and tell him to come see you in the club and bring at least $300. Put a smiley face after it so he can take it as if you're just kidding if he wants to.
If it works, great. If it doesn't, he wasn't worth the effort anyway.
Re: I'm so tired of this type of customer!
i know exactly what you mean, and honestly, i'm tired of about 75% of the customers in general. the ones i'm most tired of are the ones who don't give a flying fuck how you feel about anything (pushing contact, what they say to you, etc.) and unfortunately... that type of customer is a growing breed.
there's a lot of "i DESERVE to do etc. etc. because i paid etc. etc." and "who cares? she's just a stripper" mentalities. don't believe me? read the blue side or come visit tampa for a week. :P
Re: I'm so tired of this type of customer!
First off ladies, let me say this, I AGREE with you. It'd be nice if the customers stopped asking you. But I'll be the devil's advocate and explain the other side you girls may not see.
Do you know why so many pharmaceutical reps and computer sales reps are females? Their primary customers ARE men. They spend time with their customers (doctors and techie guys) over lunch, dinner, & drinks. Using their looks and feminine wiles to get sales. Why should a doctor prescribe Viagra over Levitra. The drugs do the same thing, but that hottie who went to lunch with him works for Pfizer (viagra), and he wants to see her again. Does that mean that all these sales reps are having sex with their customers? Of course not. I'm sure you've heard the expression, deals are made on the golf course, not in the office (or something to that effect). It's like the good ol' boy network.
You have to realize that you are in a sales job too. The product you are selling is you (or the fantasy of you). Your competition is every other dancer you work with. Why should a guy buy product A over product B? Both products are 5' 6", blond hair, blue eyes and cost $20 per song. (you get my point). This is where your hustle comes in. After they spend money on you, yeah, they want to hang out with you. It makes them feel as if you are interested in them, not just their cash. Don't get me wrong, I know what they want in the long run.
Okay, back to my DJ self here. The reason you don't want to spend too much time with customers OTC....If they see you OTC, they don't spend money on you in the club (which means I don't get tipped). But if you never ever see them OTC, that can shorten the time you can keep him as a regular who always gives you cash. Like I said, it'd be nice if that wasn't the case, but you are these guys fantasies.

Re: I'm so tired of this type of customer!
La de da. I sent him the text telling him when I'd be in the club tonight. One of the door guys told me that someone had called the club, asking if I was there... But he didn't show up (unless he just missed me, but I didn't get a call or text tonight from him). Oh well.
