Worked SKIN Cabaret in Scottsdale last night.
I love this club! Definitely my favorite place to work in the area. Arrived about 8:30 pm and worked til 1:15 am. Left early since it was my first night dancing in a while and I was whipped! Made just over $300 after tip out w/o hustling too hard. I think I could have pulled another hundred in the last hour, but I was just too tired. Club was super busy and they do something really cool on Tuesday nights - they have a dj at the back of the stage with turntables set up and he actually spins on the stage. Great music, lots of energy, and the club was packed from 10pm to close. Like seriously packed, as in no tables standing room only. Fun place to work, they don't make you sign out to have a drink or any of that bullshit. (I dislike CC b/c there are just too many damn rules!)
Planning on working this weekend, so I will update then and let y'all know how it goes. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Re: Worked SKIN Cabaret in Scottsdale last night.
I was going to go in there last night . Now I wish I would have.....;D
-
Re: Worked SKIN Cabaret in Scottsdale last night.
You should have!! If you come in, let me know, I'll make sure they take care of you. If I'm not there, tell Warren you are Giselle's friend. He loves me and treats all my friends really well.
Just wanted to add that I know this club has a rep for attracting a younger, party crowd. Not everyones scene, but I have always made money AND had fun here.

Re: Worked SKIN Cabaret in Scottsdale last night.
hey LR, do you find it tricky to work Arizona or Nevada being from Canada? Do you go through an agency, or just carefully? Or do they care?
I'm so sick of this snow. I really want to go somewhere hot and dry, if only for a little while (and hopefully make money while I'm there).

Re: Worked SKIN Cabaret in Scottsdale last night.
I'm not from Canada, I just live there. You won't be able to work Vegas, but I'm pretty sure you would have lots of options in Phx. I think I remember reading that Cally worked at Bombshells w/o a problem and I know Skin has had some girls from Canada that were visiting.

Re: Worked SKIN Cabaret in Scottsdale last night.
I keep hearing how awesome Skin is from customers and dancers! I went there once and my friend said it was a dive, I didnt think it was a dive.. but the girls that night.. weren't that attractive. Maybe it was just a bad night, Sunday around 8 I believe is when we were there.
But I do hear alot of good things about Skin- I'll have to visit it again sometime!

Re: Worked SKIN Cabaret in Scottsdale last night.
LAtinaRose, missed ya! ITs brandi! Will you be there Fri?? Skin is the BEST! Mileage is low and the guys still tip! Hope to see you FRI!
-
Re: Worked SKIN Cabaret in Scottsdale last night.
Glad you had a good night Latinarose!
Nina, Skin was never my cup of tea, but I wouldn't call it a dive. Warren is fantastic to work for. And if you're good at working a young crowd I say go for it.

Re: Worked SKIN Cabaret in Scottsdale last night.
Be careful there. I would recommend keeping to yourself, or atleast, be cautious of you who choose to associate with inside the club. Skin has been under investigation and has constant survellaince by law enforcement. And I don't mean for dancers breaking the 3 foot (or whatever it is now) rule.

Hey gorgeous! I didn't know you were on here. Not working Friday, but I'll be there Saturday definitely. Will you be there on Sat? Might work tonight if I don't go out.
Thanks Britney! You are so right about it not being for everyone. I can't imagine why anyone would call it a dive tho. Sunday is a slow night and a lot of the hot girls come in around 10 or later. Sometimes I would even come in at midnight and work a quick 2 hour shift!!

I know exactly what you are talking about. Kinda fucked up, but I've worked there for awhile and only talk to those I know. Still a fun place to work tho!!
You look familiar...did you used to dance at Skin? There was a girl that used to dance there by Lola, could that be you? I always wondered what happened to her.

I didnt know about this. What are they watching out for? Good thing I do keep to myself and only talk to a few select people.

Nope, never danced at Skin. South Scottsdale is my stomping ground though, so maybe you have bumped into me somewhere around town?
Fitgrlaz, sorry, I'm not privy too share, just take my word on it.

Re: Worked SKIN Cabaret in Scottsdale last night.
Just an update for anyone that is interested in working here:
Worked Saturday night, made about $400 w/o hustling hard. Got dressed 15 minutes early. All in all, a good night. I was steadily dancing and making money and having fun. Some girls were bitching, but they were also the ones sitting in the dressing room, not working.
This club is my fave in the area. Anyone interested should check it out!
On a side note, I am so anxious for a trip to Vegas! If any phx girlies wanna go, pm me so we can talk about it!!

Re: Worked SKIN Cabaret in Scottsdale last night.
Fascinating LatinaRose! Thank you for your honest post. I had what I consider to be a rough week at CC, but you helped me put it into perspective.
I gotta wonder though....why are you limiting your financial potential by (in your own words) "not hustling hard" What is "hustling hard" in your opinion. Dancing every song? What do you think your earning's potential at Skin would have been if you DID "hustle hard"
As Glamazon and Lola Lee will attest, I am a hard worker. I don't set foot in the building unless I'm going to give it 110% (let alone fly in from outta town!!!) I also worked Tuesday night. It was dead, Glam and I sat around in the dressing room snacking for about an hour of the 4 hours I was there....but I still walked with $400. I was pissed b/c that is not a great night for me during "Season", and the place emptied out at midnight. I was cursing and making excuses that "Christie's just isn't the way it used to be" and doing the typical stripper reaction to a bad night.....thinking" Oh, Bourbon or Skin must be better"
The next day when I read your post, it put it back into perspective for me. I guess $400 isn't too bad for 3 hours of "hustling hard," one hour of snacking, and being in bed by 1 am. Did I have "fun" as you put it? Not really, I define "fun" as hiking with my husband, laying out in the sun by my pool, going to the beach, playing fetch with my golden retrievers. I don't go to work to have "fun" I go there to make as much money as possible for the night.
I also worked Saturday night at CC. It was PACKED. The way it should be during Spring Training. Standing room only. Not enough girls (ahem Miss Lola Lee where were you???) Guys tipping 5s, 10s, and 20s on stage just to secure the next dance from you. I "hustled hard" which to me means not sitting and talking for free. This one guy said to me "Can you wait til my friend gets back from the bathroom" I looked at the next table over that was waving 20s in the air and said, "Sure, I'm just going to dance for this guy til he gets back....every 3 minutes is $10" Hmmmm...come to think of it I never went back to that first guy because the next table over was paying $20 a dance.... I had what I consider to be an average weekend night at CC during March ($900) I was kinda miffed because I missed my goal (1K) because I got stuck in traffic on the 10 and didn't get started until 8:30, and the place was busy at 7. Yep, I'm all about the $$$$.
Sooooooooo, getting back to my point. Thank you Latinarose for putting things in perspective to me, and saving me the time and energy of club hopping. I've confirmed I'm where I should be.
For any of you girls reading this who are still thinking of traveling to Phx to work: I think this is a great thread to give you insight on two of the top clubs in town.

Go figure! The one Saturday night that I take off for some playtime. Well, hopefully next weekend will be a repeat.

I'm just here on vacay. Anything I make is just for spending, so I'm not really trying to work that hard. I don't really have any bills to worry about right now and I just want to enjoy myself. I haven't danced since November and it is exhausting! So I don't want to push myself too hard b/c I really don't need to. I like working at Skin b/c I have fun there. It's cool to see all my friends and be able to enjoy myself. It's not often that I'm in the position where I don't have to worry about anything except working on my tan and making enough money to go out to eat and shop. So I am taking advantage of it ;)
I think if I had put my all into it, I could have made $500, maybe more. I know you make a lot of money at CC, but I don't think that is the average in this town, esp w/o regulars. Girls thinking of visiting should be aware of that. I didn't even get to everyone that wanted dances from me, but I just didn't care. Also, from reading your posts on here, I can tell you have your VIP/Champagne room hustle perfected. If I was better at selling VIPs I would make a lot more money here. I did get one last night, but looking back I should have pushed him to get another hour. Oh well!

Re: Worked SKIN Cabaret in Scottsdale last night.
Hey guys, is there a thread or anything about good motels/places to stay while traveling? I'm a little afraid to make a post, security reasons I guess. :)
Anyway, after a horrendous, horrible incident in NYC, I have flown to Albuquerque (where I lived for two years) staying with my bf at the moment, but I really want to come out to Phoenix at least until the summer.
I <3 u girls and thanks so much. :)
-
Re: Worked SKIN Cabaret in Scottsdale last night.
Just so you know, Phoenix sucks balls in the summer. I suggested staying here to another member:
If you are planning to stay for several months, I would look for a sublet on craigslist. Should be fairly inexpensive since summer is the off season.
-
Re: Worked SKIN Cabaret in Scottsdale last night.
Is it summer yet? Lol it must be in Phoenix. I wanted to stay till June or at least until I'm not pissed off anymore to come back to NYC.
Thank you so much for yr awesome posts LR.

Re: Worked SKIN Cabaret in Scottsdale last night.
No it's not summer yet, but will be soon. May is when business starts dropping off.

Re: Worked SKIN Cabaret in Scottsdale last night.
Bummed I didn't try for Amateur Night at Skin last week when I was in PHX. I went to Christies on Monday (see review of that here) and after it didn't happen>:( , it deflated all my enthusiasm. I remembered that Skin had one on Tuesday but I didn't even know where they were located or any of the particulars. Plus my friends weren't into trying again (they were going for support.).
Maybe next trip...
-
Re: Worked SKIN Cabaret in Scottsdale last night.
Skin does not have an amateur night on Tuesday or any night.

That's interesting. That info was passed on to me by someone else. Guess it's good we didn't go then. :P
