getting back into the groove
For the past 8 months I have had....a "regular" job. No dancing, put my shoes in the closet and my clothes in box in the basement. I must say I miss it, but I dont. ANYWAY, this summer I am going to be out of work (since i have been teaching) but I need some way of income. I have been thinking about going back to work at the clubs, but I am scarreeeeeddd. I dont know why? I would appreciate anybodys advice on how to get back into the swing of things. any stories? inspiration? thanks gals :)
also now living in a different city. i know there are some Philly dancers here..talk to me ladies
Re: getting back into the groove
I know some jobs have "moral clauses". If your school district has something like that, you may want to think twice about going back to dancing especially if it is in the same area where you teach.
For those of you unfamiliar with what "moral clauses" are, you basically agree not to do anything that the community would find, well, immoral. It doesn't have to be illegal. For example, it was big news a few months ago where a police department was getting rid of married officers who cheated on their spouses. :O You see many instances of stuff like this where nurses, females in the military, etc.. pose for magazines or sexy photos that wind up on the internet. Next thing you know, they are fired (or discharged from the military).
I know, pretty shitty, eh. I wasn't debating that point, I was just stating watch out.
