I bought a pack of 4 dollar nails from the drug store and glued them on. They look ok and many people have complimented me on them. Is this acceptable for stripping or should I have them professionally done?

The cheap drug store nails will eat at your nail bed super fast and they are known to cause infections from long term use.
Remember you get what you pay for.
They're ok for a quick fix but not long term.
Odds are the cheap nails are going to pop off. At least, they do when I try and wear them. But damn 75 bucks??? You can get professionally done nails for less than that, if that's the look you're going for.
professional. personally, i think it's noticable when you have press on one's on.
I would also think that these would pop off easily at work. I really don't like artificial nails personally. I like short natural manicured ones, much classier. I understand that some people need them tho. My one friend gets them b/c she says she has man hands if she doesn't have long nails. You should be able to get them cheaper than $75!!
Yeah..they wont last long. i could never get the cheap do it yourself nails to stay on for more than a few hours.
$75??? I never paid more than $40 for a full set of acrylic nails...and even then I thought $40 was a lot(I was out of town and the one
salon was the only game around). I normally paid $30 for a full set(plus tip) and about $18 for a fill(plus tip)
I paid a little more when I got gels or pink and whites....but even then..never close to $75
I get a full set of gel nails with airbrush design, a pedicure with design and my eyebrows done for $90 in one of the more expensive areas.... where did you get the $75 price for a manicure?
I'd get them professionally done. Drugstore press ons are best for costumes and one time only stuff.
I love my pink and whites and would not trade them (or the girl that does them) for the world. I pay $55 for a full set and $30 for fills.
I have very short, bitten nails and in a pinch if I havent gotten my nails doen will buy thoes cheap glue ons. They are the devil! Every time I buy them, I remember why I swore I'd never wear them again. They ruin your nail. Trust me, when they come off, your going to spend more money trying to repair your ruined nails than you would have just paying for them professionally. They also wont last more than a day before they start either popping off, or chipping, or cracking and splitting. Espicially wearing them to work.
They also collect moisture underneath them when you get them wet from washing your hands....once I grew mold on my nail, and had to have it removed.
They are the devil. Dont wear them. Ever.
Yeah, screw the drugstore nails, they end up being a pain in the ass. I get pink and whites, and a pedicure for $50, and it's WAY worth it!
$75?? egads! I get 1" acrylics for $30 (for a full set).... damn.
I've seen full sets for 20 bucks, all the way to 40 bucks...but 70? GAWD.
I also get the pink and whites I love them. I pay $45 for the pink and whites, with a gel overtop to keep them pretty. Problem with me is, since i bite my nails, I need to get them filled about every 4 days, because as soon as they start lookign a little old to e, I start biting, and if I dont keep them in perfect condition, I will rip em off. My nails get very expensive.
Regular acrylics are a little cheaper than the pink and whites, but in my opinion, the higher price is worth it. With the pink and whites, your nails alwyas look good, they never can chip or fade.
