My introduction, and I'm in need of help!
Hello all! I am new to the exotic dancer forum. I just started dancing. To be exact I had an audition Saturday, and got the job. Saturday was the first time I had ever been into a strip club. I started Monday afternoon. It wasn't bad. Then I worked Tuesday. Well, let's just say I didn't make much money either night. I was told by one of the more experienced dancers that I moved too fast, and was doing the same moves over and over. She ofcourse had to do that while I was on stage infront of two customers. I bit my tounge, and tried to take some advice. I need some serious help here. I am not sure how to move. Anyone got any ideas to help me out?

Read, newbie, read SW. Great information here. And it's a common mistake to move too quickly when one is nervous. Just remind yourself to slow down and you'll hit your stride. Good luck, neighbor!
Re: My introduction, and I'm in need of help!
Well that was kind of rude of her; she could have picked a better time! Don't fret, you sound like a very normal newbie her first couple shifts. Honestly, the customers do not care what you do as long as the clothes are coming off and you act like you genuinely like them! LOL. But seriously, being graceful doesn't hurt either.
Take some time to scour the site. Newbie section, which you've found, Hustle Hut, etc. There should be some great stuff to help you move. The biggest piece of advice you will get her is to just go to work and soak up everything like a sponge, watch the other girls, etc. If you're moving too fast, try moving extra slow; even in fast songs if you find the backbeat you can dance slow to those too.
Welcome to SW.
Re: My introduction, and I'm in need of help!
well, here's something free and easy... watch stripper videos on youtube. the good ones (obviously).
ps. don't feel bad, most girls look like jackasses their first couple of weeks. the only reason i didn't is because i gogo danced for yearrsss before i started stripping. you'll get better. just work hard at it. there's a decent chance that you aren't making money yet because you look too new. new girls almost always look like new girls on stage and a lot of customers (esp the big spenders) won't buy dances from new girls because it's too much of a risk. they'd rather have someone who "knows what she's doing". the quicker you start to look conifident and skilled on stage, the better.
Re: My introduction, and I'm in need of help!
Here's a link to a video on floor work, made by our very own Alenadowns. This should help you. Also check out her other videos and other videos on YouTube. Some girls have no tact in this business and you will encounter more rude comments. Best to build up a thick skin early. SW is your friend! I would be such a lost stripper without this site, so read as much as you can and you'll be making great money in no time!
Re: My introduction, and I'm in need of help!
Thank you guys so much! I watched the video, and I definutely want to learn to dance like that! That style is classy! I start back to work tomorrow evening, and I don't know that I will have the video mastered by then......yea right! I will however work on slowing down. This sight has boosted my confidence already. I feel more comfortable now then what I did when I came home Tuesday night. I want to make this work. I refuse to just give up. I've always wanted to become something. Dancing is what I enjoy, and this is something I would love to be good at. Thank you again!
Re: My introduction, and I'm in need of help!
Congrats on getting the job :) I would recommend getting some of your favorite music and practicing your dance moves at home. And sorry for repeating, but sssssllllllloooooowwwww is the key! Even when you think you're dancing slowly, you should still try to dance slower :) I've been dancing for a while and every now and then I still catch myself moving a little too fast. Just keep reading everything you can on here.. Oh and welcome to SW!
Re: My introduction, and I'm in need of help!
try renting Dirty Dancing, Footloose, Honey, Save The Last Dance, Flash, Showgirls etc... watching them again makes me happy and energetic while dancing without having to think about stereotypical stripper moves, but watching yourself in the mirrors will show how you look doing moves as compared to how you intend to. and always take advice from other dancers with a grain of salt, women are a catty bunch, lol.
Re: My introduction, and I'm in need of help!
Don't get too hung up on style. Us guys are more interested in your figure and personality - hence the advice to slow things down.
It's more important to 'flirt' with your audience by making lots of eye contact than being an expert dancer with all the moves.
Some of the dancers who seem to bank can't dance in the true meaning of the word. What they can do is walk slowly and sexily across the stage while maintaining eye contact with a good number of guys and similtaneously convincing each of them that he's the one she most likes watching her.
If you get a chance watch the dancers on stage at your club and also watch their audience.
You'll probably be able to pick up two levels of attentiveness from the guys.
(a) I'm watching because the dancer is naked.
(b) I'm watching because the dancer really interests me.
You'll probably find that different dancers generate different levels of attentiveness.
Watch the dancers that get guys looking because they're interested. I think you'll find they make a lot of eye contact and otherwise visually flirt with their audence. Try and learn the 'flirtation' signals those dancers use and incorporate them into your performance.

Re: My introduction, and I'm in need of help!
Congrats on getting the job!! The best advice that was given to me when I was a new dancer was from these veteran dancers at The Palace Mens Club in my town. This dancer, Linda, told me...."Get a full length mirror at home and practice in front of it everyday. Dance slowly and seductively to your favorite music and just look at yourself in the mirror and say over and over to yourself, I am beautiful, I am sexy, I am gorgeous, over and over again"......Even when I'm not working, I'm constantly playing music at home and going in front of my mirror every time a sexy song comes on...it'll become natural in time, and new moves will come also. Also...watch the other girls in the club to learn new moves...even an experienced dancer has to make the transition into the style of exotic dancing. Best of Luck...hope this helps you as much as it has helped me.;)

No, no, nooooooo no corny ass movies please! She will learn best by watching what other girls do, youtube, and S-Factor.
Re: My introduction, and I'm in need of help!
Hey pumpkin, just remember: don't bother talking to guys. They don't want to hear your whore-babble, they just want to hear you gagging on their cock.
I know you're nervous, but practice makes perfect. :)
