Am I getting f*cked at this place??
So, I've been dancing at this club for a few weeks - I knew it was small and slow and I'd never heard of it... but I didn't think it'd be THIS slow! I start at 6, and no customers EVER come in before 8 - which was okay because I like to practice pole work. But, sometimes people will come in and then leave, and there will be NO ONE for like, 2 hours. Seriously, not a single customer!!! Our "slow nights" are: no one, to about 5 customers. Our "busy nights" are like, 15 people. I'm sorry, but that is NOT my idea of busy! I'm a good dancer, I have a really nice body, and I'm really smiley and friendly to everyone - and I think the most I've made at this place in one night, after tip out, was close to (but not even) $200. Sometimes I think I'm completely wasting my time, but then I figure that I used to work a terrible job for minimum wage and it sucked - it's better than that. Shouldn't I be making MORE doing this though?!?
Re: Am I getting f*cked at this place??
Um, yeah. Find another club.
Re: Am I getting f*cked at this place??
What she said. Thats not normal. If you are attractive and fit then you can get hired almost anywhere, so vamoose outta there, even if you have to commute somewhere far, it'd be worth it.
Re: Am I getting f*cked at this place??
Geez that few of customers a night is way not normal. Im surprised your pulling that much which sounds like alot with that many customers through the door. Are you in a rural area or a busy city?
Re: Am I getting f*cked at this place??
Yeah, sounds like this club is at the end of its days, anyways. I'd run and not look back if I worked there.
Re: Am I getting f*cked at this place??
Yeah, this place is in Boston, but nobody's ever heard of it. There are two other clubs in Boston too, but I think they're nude clubs. I kinda wanted to work at a topless club or a bikini club or something. This place is really easy to get to, but I could totally make more somewhere else... lame. I should leave. :-\
Re: Am I getting f*cked at this place??
Does Boston still have the Combat Zone?
Re: Am I getting f*cked at this place??
Yeah, get your ass out of that club. That's not normal at all.
Re: Am I getting f*cked at this place??
BAHAHA that sounds like my club. I shouldn't be the one laughing because it means I'm not making money but oh well, times like these all you can do is laugh.
I'm going to give my club at most a couple of more months if I'm going to make a switch. A lot of the top earners have jumped ship, which I think pretty much signals the end...
Re: Am I getting f*cked at this place??
The club I started at has had REALLY slow nights for the most part also. Last Tuesday we had 6 customers..I'm not sure how I made 200. The most I've made so far was 475, and thats cause 1 guy tipped me 200 for talking to him, not cause the club is busy.
My problem is that I have weight to loose. I know I could probably get hired elsewhere, but for me to feel good about leaving I want to weigh less. I have goals, and plan on getting BA in the fall. After my recovery and once I can go back to doing tricks (which is FOREVER after a lift and implants under the muscle) then I'll go elsewhere. There's really not a lot of money in Maryland anyways..at least thats what I've heard. We have girls coming over from SCORES in Baltimore to our club and that place is supposed to bank!
I'm going to look into clubs in Charlestown WV...anyone know of a good place?
Re: Am I getting f*cked at this place??
I would go for a better club, something more known or with better advertising in your area. Small clubs are good for starting because it's less pressure, but if you really want to make your time worth it I'd change clubs. You seem like you would do really well in a busier club, you'll make better money.
In my area I've worked two clubs, I live in the Chicago, midwest:
Heavenly Bodies - elk grove, good advertising, small club
The Admiral Theatre - Chicago, legendary, large club
I made $300 tops at Heavenly Bodies, and that was once in a blue moon and on weekends. On average I made $100-$200...and it was hard work. Mostly during the week customers weren't that good or there just weren't any. Topless club with huge house fees, contact, and liquor.
I made $800 tops at The Admiral Theatre, which was more consistent. On average I made $400 every night I worked until winter, but I didn't have to work as hard. The club always had a crowd and they were rich. Full nude club, low house fees, no contact, no liquor.
So if you are good, move on!

Re: Am I getting f*cked at this place??
Dude. Under $200 max for this job is total shit money. You need to get to another club ASAP.

Absolutely.
In the Stripping(General) section, Bridgette wrote a thread where she asked about the most important factors that affect a dancer's earnings. One of the factors was how busy the club is. I stated my opinion in that thread...that even if you have all the confidence, sales skills, and looks possible, there isn't much you do can with those things if there aren't any customers.
I went through a similar experience at a club a few years ago. The situation you're describing is very very similar to how the dayshift(and sometimes even the later shifts) were at this particular club. I left for a busier better club, and found the money to be a lot better in a shorter amount of time.
Re: Am I getting f*cked at this place??
wow! How do you live on that money? I need to make minimum $200 a night. Run girl!
