Photoshop is not free, but you can download it on file sharing sites and such. You can purchase it at Best Buy etc.
You can buy/download from www.adobe.com.
Also, unless you're doing work for print, I suggest Photoshop Elements. Cheaper and easier to use for web images.
I'm glad somebody asked! I was wondering the same thing!
Echo what Samantha said. If you're just getting used to it, the full Photoshop is overkill. Photoshop Elements will be fine.
I've heard good things about too. Haven't tried it yet. Big advantage: It's free.
Another alternative is to buy an older version of Photoshop. Most people don't need the latest one, that way you're learning to use the best, and you can upgrade later. Ther's a new version every 2 years...
Picasa is more of an image organizer than editor. It has some nice features but you'd have to try it out to see if it will handle what you need.
I use Picasa for all my image organizing needs, very good program.
The latest is CS2 I believe for Photoshop. 6 and 7 will still be more program than you'll need I bet.
I get mine from my Herd Of Nerds, usually.... like most programs. But yeah, I saw it for sale at Walmart recently.
this reminds me. Mine is being a douchebox. Time for a new copy.
GIMP was recommended to me. It's just like Photoshop but you can download it for free off the web. Just google it.
Umm.. well you can *cough*getitforfree*cough* download a trial version *coug*withacrack*cough*.
I have Photoshop 5.5
It's a way old version yet I have never found the need to upgrade as it does everything I need it to do for me
It's far cheaper to buy an old version and then upgrade plus by using the older version you can get used to the program... and so when you upgrade.. it won't be so overwhelming a program to use...
You know, I might actually have an old version I'm not using anymore that I'd be happy to send ya. I used to be a web designer, so I had several versions...Let me know if you want me to try to find it!
Yup...CS2 is equivalent to a 9.0 version, with CS obviously being 8.0. I had 7.0 previously, and upgraded to CS courtesy of my employer, with only a very few minor differences separating the two. I've never used CS2, however, so it may be a completely different animal for all I know...
I still have a spare copy of 7.0 lying around with about a billion different plugins, so if you all need any just let me know.
