Re: The most u have ever spent on dinner?
Well, we've had quite a few dinners over $500, but that's what we like to do. You can't put a price on your "hobby", if you truly love it.
We love Peter Luger in Brooklyn, NY, The Red Square in Atlantic City, NJ, Emeril's Tchoup Chop in Orlando and Victoria & Albert's also in Orlando.
But, to be fair, this is including alcohol, we usually do tasting menus and if caviar is available, I'm having it. That all adds up.
Edited to add: This is for two people.

Re: The most u have ever spent on dinner?
I took my sales team to a dinner at a steak place in San Diego once, and the bill came to a little over 1700 bucks with tip (12 people total). It was a reward for achieving sales goal that year.
I took a group of customers out to dinner once, 10 total people, and the bill for that was 1200 bucks.
I have been part of a dinner that cost over 5000 dollars, but it had close to three dozen people.

Re: The most u have ever spent on dinner?
^^
My boyfriend works in advertising and his boss pays for the Christmas party every year at a nice city restaurant. The year before last some of the staff made pigs of themselves and just tried to purposely run up a huge bill (I thought it was in poor taste).
They were having blue label jim beam with coke (im not a drinker but i have been told this is not a good thing to do) and ordering $500 bottles of wine.
The bill ended up being $7k for about 12 people and resulted in last years Christmas party being held at a local pub - $10 chicken parmas for all hehe.

Re: The most u have ever spent on dinner?
Imagining having a grand to spend on dinner is like porn in my brain. I am so hungry right now.

pretty much ditto for me.
usually, it's the alcky that pushes things over the edge. fancy-schmancy wines and such that i have no clue nor any desire to taste but my metrosexual friends do. whatevah.
that and manhattan prices. name-brand restaurants are nice to say you've gone to such-and-such but ime it still just boils down to wherever's signature dishes rather than the whole experience being worth the markup. but i still do it to hang with the friends (they're still fishing ;D ).
business dinners don't count here. schmooozing clients is a totally different thing and price level. :O

Re: The most u have ever spent on dinner?
Top has been maybe $250 for two. A good bottle of wine and a drink or two and that's when it starts getting very expensive. The most I've spent without getting wine and drinks is maybe in the $160 for two range. I love fine dining though so I don't mind spending that kind of money on a great meal.

Re: The most u have ever spent on dinner?
around $275 for sushi in NYC.

Re: The most u have ever spent on dinner?
I am a thifty one..only like $150 for three people at Red Square at the Trop in AC.
-
Re: The most u have ever spent on dinner?
$180 for 2 people, wine for one person. Flemings in Austin!
It was before I was stripping, to celebrate the receipt of my first financial aid!

As I mentioned, that's one of our faves. But I'm a caviar whore and when in the Red Square....
That and the champagne are what makes the bill go sky high because the food isn't really expensive there.

Re: The most u have ever spent on dinner?
Maybe $300 for dinner for 2?? I can't really remember exactly what the bill was though, I didn't actually pay for it.
But money that I forked out personally? I spent $2250 on catering for my wedding.

Me neither, I've been treated to them. The most I've personally spent is $100 @ Nobu in Vegas, amazing sushi and sake for 2 people.

Re: The most u have ever spent on dinner?
I got so drunk at Sammies Roumanion Steakhopuse in NYC one night we had a party of 16 people and I picked up the tab. I got the credit card bill and it was $5000.00. Now I know why they treat me so well when I go there now, I can't imagine what kind of tip I left them, duh.... Never again will I be that stupid.

Re: The most u have ever spent on dinner?
Wow!!! You gals have spent a lot of $$$ on food! I think the most I've ever spent on dinner was $150 between me and my ex! This was in Venice, Italy with a table right next to the Grand Canal...with baby portions for a meal. Something I had to do just once. We were simply paying for the scenery. I thought THAT was a lot! :O

Good girl. This is the only acceptable answer. :)
I think my record is $4,200 for a table of eight, seven of them being girls who have been exceptionally good friends of mine for a long time and really deserved a meal like that a lot earlier in life. This was at Citronelle's in Washington, D.C., easily my favorite restaurant, a magnet for the politicians, TV personalities and lobbyists in Washington. And yet a place where the staff saves the best tables for the regs. I think the reason they do it in my case is that they wonder who the hell I am bringing in next. Wait until the incomparable Nicolina graces their doorway. They will never stop talking about her.
The restaurant has a wine list to die for and a sommelier with exceptional taste and sophistication. The food is insanely great, overwhelming really, with phenomenal artistic presentation and an ongoing list of surprises.
Oh, and the cost of dinner did not include the cost of the little blue boxes with white ribbons at each setting. Well, it was Christmas, OK? So shoot me.
The day I was at Tiffany's to collect the diamond earrings was a late Sunday afternoon, and while I was standing around waiting to have them all wrapped up (this takes forever, I swear) I was just dumbfounded when Newt Gingrich walked into the store to pick out some diamonds with his mistress. My guess is that he figured that it had finally become public (but had been common knowledge to Washington insiders since the Clinton Administration) and he had nothing more to hide.

Re: The most u have ever spent on dinner?
Probably around 200 bucks for two people.
-
Re: The most u have ever spent on dinner?
I dont spend much on food at all... I try to make sure food is around 10-15 and I tip up to 10, so all in all it's 20. I've had much more expensive meals but my man is of the mentality that he should show me a good time and that my money should be kept in my wallet... I think last time we went out total for teh two of us was $120 including tip food and one alcoholic drink.
When I turned 21 however I overdrew my account by around $400 on alcohol... most of it was overdraft fees, but still... that was not so cool. I have since learned to get other people to buy me drinks! :) And I only go to bars where I know people, so drinks are generlly free and my tip is between 20 and 40 bux.

Re: The most u have ever spent on dinner?
I will have one of those $1000 sundaes. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday.

Re: The most u have ever spent on dinner?
About 350$ for parents' 30th anniversary dinner (3 people). We steamed lobsters ourselves at home, served with wild mushroom risotto and a nice bottle of Dom with a tiny but of Chambord. We like to cook together when it comes to family get togethers, even more than going out to restaurants.

Re: The most u have ever spent on dinner?
I looove going to out eat at expensive restraunts.
But I've never spent anything crazy. Our biggest bill was about $200 for 2 people, 2 drinks included.
Liquor...another story. I've had bar tabs over $600 in strip clubs before.....for 3 people!
I'm a lush!

Re: The most u have ever spent on dinner?
$225 for two people (dreadful, final date with an evil witch), including wine.
-
Re: The most u have ever spent on dinner?
I'm pretty big on fine dining, only problem is, it used to be men taking me out= free! lol! Now that I'm in a relationship I feel bad if we go out too much as I know how much we both make! But we try to fine dine once every 3 months or so. The most we've ever spent was $400 for two.
But the most ever was the Christmas party for the Venture Captialist company I used to work for. My bosses spent approx. $10,000 on maybe 10 people. I know I that alone drank at least 2 bottle of their finest ice wine (my fave!), talk about a horrible hangover, lol!

Dylan!!! I <3 you!!! next time you're in orlando we should double date!!!

Re: The most u have ever spent on dinner?
Most I've spent was about 250, including tip and wine for italian food at this AMAZING place in downtown SLC. (2 people, bf's birthday). I've had pricier dinners, but I didn't pay, so I'm not sure how much they were. We typically stick around 50-80 bucks if we're going out to eat though, including alcohol.
