Re: is this being too lazy?
heh, that's damn lazy. dirty gross too. but it cannot be a first.
Re: is this being too lazy?
I my 20s I had a roommate in Brooklyn who let the food-caked dishes pile up in the sink (it was his turn to clean) so badly that there was a swarm of flys over them. Funny enough, he was nailing this amazingly hot woman at the time, and she didn't seem at all disturbed by this disgusting health hazard.
Re: is this being too lazy?
a first what? letting it get dirty? or throwing them away? i really have never let it get like this before! i just forgot that they were in the sink and i wasnt coming back for a while.. my plan wasnt to be gone so long! :-[
Re: is this being too lazy?
We once had a roomie who neglected to do the dishes on her night. The now-wife and I went to St Louis for a week in the morning. When we returned there were MAGGOTS in the sink. We gave her one more night, and then piled the offending dishes in a box and placed it on her bed. That did the trick. I'm pretty sure she threw some away too, though.
Re: is this being too lazy?
I'd soak them in hot water and bleach & scrub them clean...Unless they're plastic or something.
I can't bear to throw things away...unless they're unusable.
Why not donate them to the Goodwill? No one will know they were in a sink getting funky for days.
Re: is this being too lazy?
Ive done it.... haha. I came home, they were SICK oh my god I can still remember the smell.. I threw those things away so fast and went and bought new ones.
Now I just do my dishes before I go ANYWHERE... haha
Re: is this being too lazy?
Hahaha, I had a friend who was so lazy that after my boyfriend went around to cook for him one day hejust threw out all of the used crockery.
Yeah thats pretty bad - he didnt wait for them to start smelling, lol!
Re: is this being too lazy?
I had a boyfriend who totally did that to some of my dishes when I was out of town. I was pissed as hell at him for it.
Re: is this being too lazy?
ok, at least im not the only one who has done it! the funny thing is i used to get mad at my old roommate for not washing her dishes.. then i started living alone and i got messy. oh well.. it gave me an excuse to go buy new ones! :P
Re: is this being too lazy?
Of course it's incredibly lazy!! But who cares? It's your money and your dishes and you can do what you please with them!
Re: is this being too lazy?
I've bought new underwear and socks because I was too lazy to wash them for a few weeks. I guess that's about the same.
Re: is this being too lazy?
I say..from now on get paper napkins, plates, and eating utensils. Evencups haha, cleanup was never easier.
Re: is this being too lazy?
Buck up and spend an hour washing them. You're going to have to bleach that sink anyway since it's been sitting for so long with rotten food in it. I used to have a friend who "kept house" like that, you didn't want to ask for a glass of water in that house, lol.

No way! Think of the environment!
I have to get out of this thread, it's making me feel antsy.:D
Re: is this being too lazy?
I'd throw them all out and buy new ones if my boy wouldnt bitch about how lazy it is.
If I come across a dish that is particularly crusty and would require hours of scrubbing, I'll just toss it out.
I HATE washing dishes. Even with my dishasher. I let them pile up so badly that they need to soak and get a prewash before the dishwasher, and there's so many dishes they wont all fit in one load anyway......
Re: is this being too lazy?
Lazy, yes, but don't feel too bad, I've done it before. I loathe doing dishes and I'm not much in the kitchen so I never spent a lot on them anyway. Just toss em out and buy some new cutes ones at Target!!
Re: is this being too lazy?
haha I haven’t done this but it sounds like something I’d end up doing in the future!
Re: is this being too lazy?
Been there, done that I'm afraid to admit. So no, you are not alone :-)
Re: is this being too lazy?
THe night before I was flying cross country to spend a week with my family-i got cought up talking with my boyfriend on the phone. Forgot I was supposed to have done the dishes. Talked to him RIGHT up until I was at the air port. came home a week later, to mold, no maggots though. some of the plastic containers(i always wash and reuse) i just threw away, but everything else I just bucket up, boiled water, washed, and boiled them!
Boy was i embarassed...
Re: is this being too lazy?
whaaa? yes it is being too lazy lol! wash ur dishes, stinky!!! ;D ;D ;D
Re: is this being too lazy?
Re: is this being too lazy?
I used to have this problem sometimes-though not to the point of it smelling up the house. My solution was to have fewer dishes. I seriously only have a few things. If you entertain guests, have a special set of dishes that you only use for when people are over. This works wonders. There's never much to wash, so it gets done.
Re: is this being too lazy?
^ That is my solution as well.

i guess i named this thread wrong, haha, because i know just how lazy it is but ohhhh well! i bought fewer, too, and i definately wont ever let them pile up that way again. (i say that now...haha..)
