When is the best to pay??
I did a search but couldn't find anything related to this topic, so I apologize ahead of time if this has been asked....
My question is when is it best to pay a dancer for a lapdance? Do most of you want the money prior to dancing? Do many of u ask after each individual dance or do you ask at the end of the dance(s)?
I've met some who want the money up front, because they've been burned by customers before, which some customers may not be open to. Others ask for it afterwards, especially after a certain number of dances in a row; however, there are times when disagreements may happen with the number of dances that were done between both the dancer and customer. The other option is to pay after each dance, which seems fair on both parties, but in a way, at least for me, it seems to ruin the moment lol
Anyway, I was just curious to hear everyone's thoughts on the pros and cons and which method you use :)
Thanks!

Re: When is the best to pay??
Usually after. Dances are 10 dollars on the floor. Even if we have done a slew of dances, I get the money after. I do remind them how many it has been every couple of songs. I have not had a problem in 2 years. In the CR I settle up sometimes. I know customers can get carried away back there and I do not want to waste my time so I let them know how many songs it has been every 2 or three. Sometimes I get the point that the guy does not care. I have had maybe 2 problems in the CR in 2 years, but I like my system.
In seattle I would often ask for the money upfront.

Re: When is the best to pay??
This depends on where you are and what is customary there. Dances are $20 here, and the norm is to pay after.
I always collected after the dance, or after the row of dances. However, at about 3 dances I prefer to settle up before doing more. This is so that I don't get burned for large amounts of money or waste my time.

Re: When is the best to pay??
If the minimum is less than $20, I don't mind waiting until after. If the minimum is $20 or more, I insist on payment before the first dance, then if the custy wants more, I'll trust them to pay up when we're done. I've only been stiffed like 2 times in my entire 8 years or so working in the clubs, so this has been a pretty good system for me.

Re: When is the best to pay??
i always ask before it seems less ackward to me to ask then i even have a little speech i run with about how it is a club rule some guys get a little insulted but most understand completely

Re: When is the best to pay??
I love it when guys hand me the money before the dance, but then I usually get bummed out because if it's a $20 VIP dance and he hands me a 20 right off the bat, I feel like it's going to be harder to ask him to stay for more.
Usually after the first song I ask if he'd like another, by the third to fifth song I'll ask to get paid. Like you, luvsdancers, I don't like to stop in between each song to do biz, it really kills the mood.

Re: When is the best to pay??
Once you're flat on your face after they've grabbed your ankles while you were making a run for the door. ::)

Re: When is the best to pay??
I prefer to pay after each dance. It avoids embarrassing scenes at the end of the string. I just wear a shirt with a front pocket to put the dance money in, or cargo pants where I can easily get the money out.
Nothing will sour your night like some argument over number of dances or amount of money owed. I just like to stay paid in full as I go.

Re: When is the best to pay??
if I'm doing a $20 lap dance then I usually like a guy to wait until we're done dancing to pay me. But if it is a VIP show then I always get the money up front.

This is how I operate. After the first dance of paying upfront then we can start a running tab. :)

Re: When is the best to pay??
i don't like getting my money first because it limits my ability to "upsell" more dances. the only exception is when i have regular customers who like to pay me a certain ammount before hand. i have a couple who'll just give me Xammount (usualy 2-5 hundred) or whatnot as soon as i sit down with them. but, that's more for "established" customers who prefer to do that. the only time i ask for my money up front is when a customer gives me the "handsy/pain in the ass" vibe.

Re: When is the best to pay??
At my club we have to be paid upfront - its just the club rules and how it works here in Melbourne. If I sell a second dance I will take that money upfront before I continue. Yeh it interupts the flow but still saves arguments afterwards.

Re: When is the best to pay??
I ask for the money up front. If they ask why I make a sad face and explain I've had guys just run for the door after they're done before, not that I think they would do anything like that but it's just so awful being disappointed... They've usually got the money at hand by that point and really, if they start arguing that they don't wanna pay until they know for sure that I'm good they aren't intending on paying up after the dance either.

Re: When is the best to pay??
Pay them after the dances but be careful the count does not pile up out of control.
-
Re: When is the best to pay??
I get my money for the first dance up front, and then unless I feel like he may try to stiff me, I wait until we're done with all of the dances. Sometimes it just depends on the guy. For VIPs though, it's all upfront.

Me too. You've gotta pay me up front, and I always place the blame on the club. It works for me.

Re: When is the best to pay??
If you show that you have money to spend and demonstrate it by spending your money there I think very few dancers ask for prepay dances. Most dancers know if someone has money or not by the way you spend, or just by looking at your cash wad when go to your pockets. Not too many men make a break for the door when they have hundreds to spend.

Re: When is the best to pay??
If I'm asked to pay up front, we're done. I've never been asked for this and would take it as an insult. Now, I'm not a young man, not that I'm old either which I think adds creditability. I also do not remember the last time I spent less than $100 if I'm getting dances. But I do settle up every $100 to keep things simple and we have no misunderstandings, which happened once. She had been drinking pretty heavily, and thought I owed another $20, even after I tipped her. I went ahead and paid her, knowing, I don't lose track when it comes to money. This left me feeling like she didn't appreciate what I had spent & this made a nice day for her. She even said she would work the next day if I wanted to spend the time together again. So, do you think I did? Hell no.

Re: When is the best to pay??
If I think a guy is iffy(will be trouble, handsy, may not pay, etc...) I'll get money up front. Otherwise I'll get it after, but i will let him know after every song where we are(unless he says not to). "this is 5 songs, $100...want to keep going"..etc..
just do NOT wait forever to pay. i had a guy last night...pain in my ASS...went to the ATM afterwards..put the money in HIS POCKET and continued to talk a blue streak until I had to finally tell him to pay me. If she is ok with you paying afterwards...pay her IMMEDIATELY afterwards. Not later, not after a drink, not when you are done talking....you can get a drink and talk if she has time...but she's just going to be stressed wondering if you are trying not to pay her if you wait.

Re: When is the best to pay??
It's not so much to do with age, it's more to do with your state of mind at the time. If a guy is kinda drunk, I'm getting my money up front atleast for the first one. And for VIPs, we HAVE to get the money upfront as this is club policy so that we can be admitted into the VIP room.

Yep. She summed it up nicely.

Re: When is the best to pay??
If I ask a guy to pay up front it is because I think he's shifty. I lack prevarication so I'll tell him that if he is insistent about asking ("I'm worried that I might not get paid if I do it after. Please pay me now.") If they get offended and refuse, I generally accept that as confirmation of my feelings. That is, I don't look at it as a lost sale, I look at it as a failed attempt to rip me off. Hey, I trust myself.
If a guy doesn't pay me immediately after the dances I say "Shall we settle?" It's polite, it doesn't necessarily end the conversation or interaction it just reminds him (because sometimes they are unsure about when to pay - they frequently don't want to get out their money and hold it out while I'm like putting on my panties or something). It's a signal that yes, this is a good time.

Re: When is the best to pay??
This is sort of strange but many clubs in Wisconsin have you pay the bartender if you want a dance. You have to decide how many dances you want before she even starts. The whole thing seems detrimental to the dancers and their earnings potential. Why would these clubs set things up that way? This one club even gives you a sales receipt for your dances. I would like to see someone try and use that for a tax deduction.

Re: When is the best to pay??
Unless as stated before, the guy is shifty...I get my money after the dances. I will stop at 10 ($100) for a break and ask to "square up" before we continue. But if you want the best of me, hand me $$ up front and ask for X amount of dances...less dances than the $ calls for....as long as you're not a total perv, you'll be my best friend and get the best dances I can give! (tipping is SO rare these days).

Re: When is the best to pay??
the norm around here is right after. ill pay whenever the lady wants.
i have a couple "friends" that dance for me, sometimes its hours befor i pay them. :O they get called to stage or see another customer they promised a dance to or something and run off.
