Does anyone have any experience with lessons in the Alexander Technique?
Only a very little, but I loved it! I dont remember ever feeling better than after my first session reallt - everything just felt so right!
Yes, but it's been a VERY long time...6-7 years...
yes i do! i did it for a long time, learned to do it to others and now i dont do it at all, heh. but i do have a bit of experience with it.
What is it?
Hmm. I'm considering taking private lessons this summer... I have a lot of free time since dancing's my only obligation right now (I'm also going to start volunteering at a local museum). I wanted to just take a yoga class or something, but the problem is those are either very early in the day, at noon-1 pm, or at night. None of those really work well for me. So I think that private instruction would be good and this is something that sounds like it really needs one-on-one teaching.
It's a bit costly but wow, it sounds like a great way to kind of reboot myself. And I'm glad to hear positive things about it here... it's so obscure that I'd kind of worried that it might be a weird ripoff.
well worth it! after the first lesson I learned how I was utilizing faulty posture my whole life and one little lesson of telling me to release the tension changed everything! Now I have to work out the extremely tight neck and shoulders of mine :(...
I tried it years ago and loved it. Seriously I have never felt more perfectly alligned than after the session. Unfortunatly it isnt popular here and the only practitioner moved away. I still use a few of the tecniques though, its great!
