Has your management ever done anything nice or helped you in any way that's memorable?
mine did my mom died the day before mothers day a year ago and im scheluled to work saturdays and a bunch of the girls wanted to take the day ff to drivee to denver and go to six flags and even if they didnt he would of still needed me to work because our dj slot is swichted on and off between two dancers so he made the girls who wanted to go to the adventure park stay and arranged a guest dj just so that he'd have enough people on staff so that i could take the night off and i didnt have to deal with the customers (especially those who sk about my tribute tatoo on my back) it meant so much to me. As did the fact tht te girls were willing to post pone they're plans by a day just so that i could have a very stressful day to myself! I must say that while sometimes i get frustrated by his unwillingness to regulate the girls properly he does a lot to help us all out in his way, and hes a great guy to work for!
When Bibs transitioned, I came in the next night to work. They let me go home early because they could see that I was in no right state to work. They also let me come into the club on the nights I am not rostered late (around 9-11pm)..... oh and allow me to still do private party bookings !! ;D
I know of clubs that will fire you and/or not allow you to work within their club because you do private parties... so it is good that they are flexible enough to do so.
As much as I bitch/whinge/moan about the percentage that the club takes from me during each lap dance I perform.... I know I wouldn't have the same conditions at another (across the road literally) club. That other club just seems more strict and inflexible to me.
My manager is always pretty nice to me actually. He is always respectful.
The best things my managers do are the things they don't do. ie: Not do live sex shows and not run a sleezy place
For my birthday he let me pick out jewellery from the case. :D
^Nice;D
My manager once allowed me to walk out on a shift so I could go home and try and find my bearded dragon, who had escaped out the open door earlier that day.
When I first started dancing, my manager( owner) told me to go down to the stripper store and pick out some outfits and shoes, and put it on his tab.
On my birthday or special occasons, or if I just worked really hard, he gave me free drinks all night.
He let me play games with the customers when I felt like it.
( instead of me doign my 3 songs and finished, I woudl play games, like couter ball, and I would tell guys anyone who got a $5 in the cup got a free dance. I made a ton of money on stage, and never gave a free dance!)
When it was slow, he allowed us to play in the jacuzzi and when we got really rowdy and made a huge mess and flooded the dj booth, he didnt get that mad.
I had my birthday party, and my going away party there.
Hed ALWAYS had my back, and never sided with a customer.
If I didnt want to drive home( i lived 45 minutes away) he would pay for the hotel room across the street.
The best thing managers can do is let me show up whenever I want, and be happy to see me and appreciative whenever I do show up.
One manager got us all gifts for birthdays, christmas, valentines, easter, etc. Another would get me a hotel room anytime I'd drive out to work there. One drove me all around and showed me the whole town and took me out to breakfast every night I worked. And one let me come over to his house and wash my dog with his hose.
A bad manager: he needed girls and was always begging me to come work, bring him girls, etc. I drove a loooong ways in one day to be there and work for him... and the club was dead and I made $73 and he still made me pay $50 stage fee and never once thanked me for driving all that way to work.
The manager John at CH2 in Philly offered to help me find a doc for my nasty sinus infection when I called him to say I was going home to AZ and wouldn't be back to work. This was after I'd only worked one night at his club. I never had any manager offer to do me any favor like that, and he was so nice about it. I couldn't believe he even offered to help me out just because I couldn't find a doc on my insurance on short notice in Philly. He made me wish I hadn't jumped to change my return flight and rushed to the airport so quick. But my sinus had gotten really bad, was getting worse, and I was suffering and desperate for relief.
My manager at my current club once paid my (expensive) taxi fare so I could go pick up my forgotten CDs at another club and go home when I was having a meltdown and threw my bag in the parking lot. LOL. Long story. My car was in the shop and it was a $40 fare one-way to my house. He probably just wanted me out his hair and the taxi fare was a small price to pay at the time, but I really appreciated it nonetheless.
Other than these two things, the only helpful thing a manager has done specifically for me in 12 years is STFU and stay out of my way. heh
There is a manager at a certain club in Vegas that pretty much allows me to do whatever I please. They don't allow off stage, but I'm allowed. I dont have to pay house fees. I can come in and leave whenever, even tho they have a strict 6 hour min. policy. They are the onyl club that knows my bf is my bf, and they not only allow him in, but they let him sit at the vip bar and give him free drinks.
To bad that club is to slow to work at, I actually miss it there. The bouncers were all cool as hell to me to.
( they were just absolutly desperate for hot girls, and I went there one night to party, I NEVER concidered working there, but sicne they made me such a sweet deal, I figured I'd try it out. My "audition" there was me licking whip cream off another dancer's boobies. I somehow ended up in my thong, giving her a lapdance and we had whip cream all over us. What fun!)
Oh..and every night at 6am, when the manager gets off work, everyone meets in the vip bar for drinks. Free.
ONLY club I have ever worked in Vegas that did that shit. It was just so laid back and cool there. God, I wish they would get busy. But then..they probably would run a tighter ship....
