Pussy Cat Doll Burlesque Style
I'm looking into mixing up my style at work. I wanted to do something alittle different and funky.... maybe similar to pussycat doll burlesque style. Does anyone have any suggestions for clothing sites that have outfits of this nature? I'm very unfamiliar with this style and don't know where to buy outfits like this. Suggestions??? ;D
Also, this is the link for the pussycat doll lounge http://www.pcdlounge.com/ I like what I can see of the striped outfit on the main page. Does anyone know where I can get this outfit? It seems like the top is a bikini like top....help me!!! LOL!
Re: Pussy Cat Doll Burlesque Style
There is a web site called "As seen on TV." They help you fimd stuff you have seen on TV or the movies.
Re: Pussy Cat Doll Burlesque Style
You could always find yourself a good seamstress. That's a surefire way to get one of-a-kind outfits. They'll fit you to a tee and you can design them so they can be taken on and off with ease. It can be a bit pricy, but if its well made it will last for years.
Re: Pussy Cat Doll Burlesque Style
pinupgirlclothing.com has a lot of burlesque type outfits
Re: Pussy Cat Doll Burlesque Style
I would go with a seamstress for something that particular. Or maybe you would like Trashy Lingerie for something similiar?

Re: Pussy Cat Doll Burlesque Style
I find PCD style is more about putting together your own outfits with random things and lots of accessories. For example, start with some black booty shorts with fringe or garters and a black push up bra, preferably with fringe. Add a thick sparkly choker or a thin one with another bling necklace. Throw on a hat. Put on some wrist cuffs or maybe a belt. Stockings are a must and they can be fishnet, striped, or whatever. Leg warmers work too and can even be worn with the stockings if done correctly. Don't pile on everything at once, add a few accessories to make it your own and take one thing off if you feel overdone (it is a strip club, not las vegas). That is PCD style to me.
This is how the majority of my outfits are put together now. Not necessarily PCD style, but in the sense that I rarely ever buy an outfit that is sold together as two pieces now. I don't want to see the same print one someone else in a skirt set, nor do I want to be stuck with just that outfit. Putting together different pieces from different places allows you to change it up a lot easily AND no one else will have your outfit (til they try to copy you, of course ;D . Lately my outfit is (was, I won't be dancing again til fall) a cut off white wife beater that said diva in old english and sparkly red and black, a white thong, and red skirt from BodyZone (excellent mix n match pieces). Add accessories - sparkly dog tags, red rhinestone choker wrapped twice around my wrist, and red and white striped socks cut off at the toe to make em into leg warmers. TADA - original outfit AND I can pair all those items with different things to make new outfits.

^^ AND it looked totally hot!!!
I soo wish I had some sense of style. I buy entire outfits I see on mannequinns cause I have absolutly no clue what looks good with what.
My whole leather skirt thing I need help on? I put togetehr a whole little thing, and I hated it. It looked bad. SO I went and bought a 2 piece, LOL.
But yeah...I agree that PCD style shouldn't be copied exactly, just use it for inspiration and do your own thing and look unique. Wish I knew how!

I forgot you saw that outfit. I think a top like my diva one would be really cute for your skirt outfit. Like a black tank with something on it in red. I'm totally going to create a line of hot tanks that can also be cut off into hot stripper outfits. Soon.
Re: Pussy Cat Doll Burlesque Style
Kaylinn I'm with you - I have no sense of style whatsoever! LOL! I can't put together an original outfit to save my life! Is there a class or something I can take on this? I was hoping the PCD style wouldn't require me to be creative.
I went to fredericks yesterday and it was sort of unsuccessful. I think I need a stripper big sister to come help me put together some stylish PCD outfits! :(

Let me find you some inspiration...

More PCD (vegas performers more than the recording artists)...
Re: Pussy Cat Doll Burlesque Style
You can add crystals to basic items yourself. Swarovski even makes a hot fix crystal that already has fabric glue on the back. You need to buy an applicator too. You can easily tie ribbon to the sides of booty shorts to make some cute bows. Think Hot Topic, not Fredericks. Go look at all their little punk accessories and pick some girly ones. Look at their thigh his and leg warmers, remember socks can be cut at the toe and turned into leg warmers. Kangol hats work really well for this look too, tilted to the side. Gloves or arm warmers are cute and don't be afraid to put some sparkly bracelets on top of them. I'll see if I have some pictures of when I've done this, but I have to wait til the bf is done with the other computer.

LatinaRose you are wonderful! :) I love the first picture of the white two piece with studs/rhinestones on them! Absolutely stunning. It looks like she layered the garter belt. I tried this at fredericks and it just looked funny/:O some of these bottoms look cute in theory but I feel they make my thighs seem chubby :'( the whole garter belt thing is so new to me. How could she wear that and not have funny scrunch lines?
I also love the striped bikini that is in several of the pics. I love your suggestion to tie ribbon at the sides of the bottoms.
I have a feeling though this will take a lot more time for me to search for good items to piece together. I am going to try to take some time this week and see if I can find some pieces. If I manage to get anything I'll definitely need some opinions and suggestions.
Now I know why people say being beautiful isn't easy!:P

I've posted about the hot fix wands before!

Those things rock!! You can find all kinds of the hot fix rhinestones on the internet. There are Czech stones too that have a little less sparkle and they're cheaper if you're broke, lol (I much prefer swarovski though). The difference is the amount of cuts, Czech have 8 and Swarovski usually have 12 so you get more light bouncing off the stones with more cuts.
You can also get pearls, nailheads and studs!
Kandi Kane Wand
Re: Pussy Cat Doll Burlesque Style
^^Yep, thats the one I have. I like the Swarovski ones more too and I don't think they're all that expensive either. They last really well too, I used to put em on the pockets of my jeans when that was popular. I did my phone too! I didn't know you get pearls and studs too. Now I wanna order some!
tROUBLEMAKER - you could get some crystals and make some booty shorts that say "DOLL" on the butt. I've always wanted to make those and never got around to it!

I actually have the L'orna but they're pretty much the same.
They get expensive when you're buying them in gross'! It helps to get them wholesale though ;D !
I like some of the nailheads and pearls, not all of them but I love to mix them together with rhinestones on and outfit! I think you would dig 'em!
Here's some pearls and nailheads from L'orna.
