Who else will admit to strolling down every single row in the toy section at Wal-Mart? I can never resist!
Sadly I do this too, right after I walk every isle in the cooking ware section
And playing with EVERYTHING in my path?? Yep...even been caught riding skateboards/scooters/bikes, playign with balls and cool computer toys, checking out the new cool babydolls they didnt have when I was a kid....
Seriously, thease are the reasons why I go to walmart almost every day and can spend hours there, just browsing. It is a great de stressor!
And I'm mad that the kids have all kinds of cool toys that we did NOT even have growing up! I fucking love Wal-Mart!
Yeah, but kids today don't have the fecking awesome toys that we had. You know, the ones with take-someone's-eye-out projectiles, small swallowable parts, and real lead cast figurines. Feck, I loved my childhood.
As a small aside, while travelling down the toy aisle in Walmart, I came across the new Transformers. Am I the only one who thinks that they suck? I mean, first off, Bumblebee should not be a vette. He's supposed to be the fuckup of the group. VW bug, bitches!
^Them newfangled Transformers can gargle my balls.
I don't have a Wal-Mart nearby. There is a Toys R Us right by my club though, and if I've got a little time to kill before work I go wander around in there at least once every couple of weeks. MrsC gets annoyed with my silly toy purchases. "Where are you planning on putting that Darth Tater?" "Um...I dunno, on top of the bookshelves with the 12'' Boba Fett, and the bottle of Monty Python's Holy Ale?"
The only toy I'm really envious of is the giant Super Soaker water guns. Those things kick ass. We had puny little ones when I was a wee lad.
Toys rock! I have to play with everything, I'm just as bad as my son when he's in the toy section. I'm just a kid at heart. G's friends refer to me as the "cool Mom" because I'll sit down and play XBox with him and loose all track of time.
Unless one of the young'uns (not mine, nieces and nephews) has a birthday coming up, I can largely avoid the toy section of any retail store, esspecially now that the nephews are legally adults and need "adult" toys.
Although weirdly enough, the electronics section and the sporting goods sections are on opposite sides of the toy section, so I occasionally peruse the games section. Kind of weird that I'm more attracted to the simple old school toys.
Anyone remember back in the olden days when you bought a set of Legos and it was just a big box of everything and it was up to your imagination on what to build. Now all I see Lego sell in stores are these small sets specifically made for building a specified project. Snore. Thats the problem with "sophisticated" toys today. They don't leave much to the imagination.
I always thought wal-mart toys sucked..even as a kid lol. If my mom brought me there, i would make sure her day was RUINED! i demanded toys R us. Man i used to go nuts in there. knocking over kids smaller then me, running around, swinging barbies in the air, etc.}:D
I love toys. My mom does too so when I want to buy her a bunch of little presents put together I usually throw some kick ass toys in there.
I used to cruise the toy aisle before Bratz dolls came out. Now I can't bear it. I'm no prude, but ffs! Those dolls irk the hell out of me. Am I the only one disturbed by these?
I did notice some Strawberry Shortcake dolls the other day though, that made me smile. :)
Yea the Bratz dolls are EVERYwhere! They were cute to me at first, but they're like, taking over the girls toy section.
I used to love those little Treasure Trolls :) and those little virtual pets, like Giga Pets...I ain't even gonna lie, I still got one in my bedroom somewhere Lol!
I looooove getting new board games. I knew that my bf was the man for me when he played round after round of Mystery Date and Monopoly with me. :D
I'm a total toy nut... I could spend hours with the RC toys, action figures, cars, models, puzzles, electronic toys are a treat.
I love the ones you have to move or push a button on... I love setting all of them off. Sesame Street, had these balls once I think I was notorious for setting them off... they would vibrate and if you did it right you could get a whole aisle rocking!! My son seems to have the same habit....
I like toys r us better than wal-mart but the main sellers are the same. Toys R Us is bigger and has a bit better selection, and has the 'premium' toys. The RC lines are about the same though. The toys r us here does not have the deluxe power rangers :(
Oh my son loves RC toys, Power Rangers (the vehicles/robots) and Thomas the Tank Engine (wooden) We have an extensive collection.
I do find the toys from my childhood were much better quality. Even Power rangers from 5 years ago are much nicer... well the deluxe ones anyway.
Oh yea Toys R Us is better, but they don't have the same 24-hour luxury as Wal-Mart :)
24 Hour Wal-Mart is fun... but I have to resist the urge to go and buy stuff in the middle of the night while everyone else is sleeping!
^^ Me too! No lines and no small children running about.
It's so not fair what kids have these days!!!!
Bratz= Big Headed Hoochie Barbies.
.....
Mr Christopher I will add another $1 to Paige's $1 to see your balls being gargled LOL.
I have to see what new barbies are out.
I love barbie.
^^You'll want to check Toy Kingdom for that. The ones in Doncaster and Greensborough, had the special edition limited release ones. Unless you have a Toys R Us near you. I think the one in Melbourne central is gone. lol
Chadstone should still have a Toys R Us....
