Do any of you ladies shoot? I'm not 21 so I have very limited experience with smaller hand guns, but I have been using a rifle/test (practice) sniping for about 6 years now.

I used to, but haven't in a long time. I was a great shot as a kid, but when I was a teenager my eyesight went bad and now my aim isn't as good as it was.
Gah that sucks.
I haven't shot anything in awhile but my brother and my ex used to take me shooting, handguns and rifles.
^^ Me to. Never handguns, just rifles tho.
Pooka can handle a gun. :) I'm in texas yanno, though, so just hunting kinda stuff.
My crazy psycho sniper ex taught me how. It was fun. }:D (at the range.) maybe i'm a lil nuts too...
I love guns, but I'm better with a bow.
^^^
*narrows her eyelids* This one gang keeps asking me to join, cause I'm pretty good with a bow staff.
Yes, what would you like to know?
I've shot handguns a little, I'm going to the range this weekend.
I took my class to get my concealed carry permit, and my accuracy was better than my bf's. Beginner's luck.
I shot rifles competitively as a kid when I was like 10-16. It seems like a pretty useless skill now but I found it somewhat relaxing since I was focusing my concentration so intently. I'm not a gun nut by any means now, in fact after being robbed at gun point at my old job I'm pretty uneasy around them --any of them.
The only good that ever came of it was one time when my psycho gun nut ex was boasting about how great of a shot he was in front of his friends and someone started bragging about men being better shots than women (noo idea where they got that crock of shit reasoning). Anyways, we're out in the middle of nowhere and using an empty liquor bottle shaped like a soldier. My ex and two other guys take shots --mostly misses and one or two nicks on the leg. I try just for the heck of it. I hadn't shot in years and wasn't sure if I could do it. I shoot it first in the head and then in the crotch. I was lucky I guess. The guys shut their pie holes after that. I'd be quite content to never touch a gun again after that.
I prefer archery anyways.
^^^ Thats awesome
I have a 38 that I really like but it's titanium and weighs 11 ounce unloaded. It's so light that when I shoot it my shot drifts to the left. not very good for target shooting.
If you want to learn how to shoot a pistol start with a 22. It's a really easy gun for a small woman to handle and shoot and in a self-defense situation can kill or do some damage if shot in target areas.
If you are looking to get more into shooting, you may be able to find a chapter of the Second Amendment Sisters in your area which is run by women for women that want to get into shooting. Here's their web site:

Probably not. I have taken many gals to the range, and they are always a better shot than the men. It never fails. My theory on that is, women don't seem to have their ego in it, take instruction well, and generally do what you teach them. Men on the other hand...As a rule, women are better shots, at least in the beginning.
Me and my husband have several guns and we love to go to the range and go shooting. (just target....no hunting for me)
Keeping your shots at the same height is a weight issue, but drifting to the side means you're losing control of how you're holding it.
If you want to get some additional familiarity, you could get one of the airsoft pellet pistols and practice at home on an old phone book. Pellets aren't particularly accurate, but at short distances, it can help with your coordination so you have something to build on when you're at a range.
It's far cheaper than a .22 and the consequences of poor marksmanship are much more limited.
Then again, a friend of mine went and got his federal licenses for silencers and automatics, and he uses a silenced .22 for practice while home in his basement.
My dad was a marine.
There is a good chance I may have at one time used guns. :)
I love to shoot.....I have a 9mm for personal protection, and a .22 for fun at the range (cheaper ammo.....though I *do* practice with the 9 fairly freqently, I take the .22 if I just want to blow off some steam). I've never fired a rifle......strange......I'm alright with a bow, but I'd only target shoot....I think bow-hunting is something I couldn't do, there's always the chance that you'll just hit your quarry and not kill it.....bad news.....
Women and guns, cool...
If you have never handled any type of firearm before, it might be a good idea to track down an NRA instructor so that you don't start with bad habits. And remember the 3 cardinal rules of gun safety:
ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
ALWAYS keep your finger off the tringer until you are ready to shoot.
ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded and the action (where you put the cartridge) open until you are ready to shoot.
And also
TREAT EVERY GUN AS A LOADED GUN!
