I've shot a lot of guns but haven't for a while. They were all my dad's or brother's guns. My brother has some funny video of me shooting a big shotgun that practically knocks me over when it kicks.
i've only fired guns a couple of times. it was kind of an awe inspiring experience the first time though. i had a police officer teaching me, which was great. but it's been a pretty long time. i'd love to get back into it.
the only thing is, being around strangers who also have guns totally freaks me out. like, a Lot.
My experience in this community has been really good. If you go to a good range and practice I think you will find many very open people that will be more than willling to help a newbie. That has been my experience in the shooting sports. Don't be afraid to give it a try.
My coworker has been trying to get my to go to the shooting range and practice. I was a decent shot when I was younger, and used to shoot w my cop friend. Sometimes I get really frightened at night living alone, and have been wanting to get a gun and LEARN to shoot. Plus, it seems relaxing....
being a 'country girl', I've fired handguns for decades (as well as shotguns and rifles). But seeing as how I travel to dangerous big cities, my latest pistol is an IMI Baby Eagle .40
granted, the .40 ammo is expensive, but if you're going to use a handgun for self-defense it damn well better have an intimidation factor (young punks seem to just laugh at 22's) as well as the stopping power to put down an assailant with the first shot if you are ever forced to use it. Besides, my brother is a real hunting fanatic with a reloading press, so I just trade him empty shell casings.
I agree Melonie, a larger gun is more intimidating but a smaller gun can kill just as well if shot in the correct place with proper skill.
it's not about feeling embarrassed. i'm actually a pretty good shot. it's about not trusting the mental stability of those around me enough to be comfortable with them possessing functioning firearms while i am so close by. i know it's so unlikely to happen, but i still have that fear in the back of my mind.
ah, i see. i'm not surprised by that. i realize that my anxiety in the situation is fairly irrational...i mean, anyone walking down the street could have a gun and i wouldn't even be prepared in those circumstances. it's just one of those quirky fears i suppose.
Chicks and guns...
I don't know, but the image of Linda Hamilton cocking her shotgun with one hand in "Terminator 2" always turns me on.
Yes, I'm weird. :)
Chicks and guns = sexy
Christine Mendoza in case your wondering

I just wanna say that I love women who shoot guns. It's sexy and I think more women should know how to handle guns!
Yep it is aesthetic sort of thing. However evry girl with a web page should have a pic like this. Keep the Stalkers guessing.

A long time since anyone posted a response here, Probably there are probably new members since the last post.
I was raised rural so lots of experience w rifles but not a lot with handguns. Since moving to Massachusetts I haven't really been able to dabble in my hobby, the gun control here is very strict and I just can't afford it right now :/. Bullshit lol
It is hard to imagine living somewhere like Mass. or Ca. I would have to find a way to move.
I have experience with guns.
