I am an NRA Training Counselor and I've trained many women in the use of firearms. Personally, I'm a bit of a gun nut in that I like historical and odd ball firearms. If you are interested in learning how to shoot, the NRA has programs specifically designed for women, including Women On Target® Instructional Shooting Clinics and Refuse To Be A Victim®. There is also an extensive list of basic training classes. It is almost guaranteed that one is in your area.
