Never bothered really. The real $ was to be made on the floor for me.
I made it up to the VIP area once (you have to be invited - no going up there on your own whim) and did do well there once yet you do have to hang out with the guys before/after the dance etc because it is the VIP area and all that... hence I decided to stay "on the floor" from then on.
I just don't like wasting my time 'hanging out' with customers after they have stopped paying me to do so even if they are VIP type of customers and have the potential (as not all VIP patrons spend money unfortunately) to make good money... I could do so 'on the floor' without wasting too much time... if you get my drift?
But dont they have to pay $500 in 1 hour blocks?
No, they can pay in half an hour blocks of time. Regardless, I can easily make $500 doing 10 lap dances... and I have easily done that ;D down there.
Think of it this way... 5 guys at $100 each. Either they purchase a $50 dance and get another or they opt for the $100 up-front or they opt for $70-80 lap dance up-front and tip the extra dollars ....you make $500.
It may seem like alot more work ... yet with the VIP at Rhino you (the dancer) have to be invited to be up there. I'm not going to wait around and play the politics just so I can be invited up there.... then waste alot of time having to hang out and drink with them.
Once again, much rather those five separate customers to the one VIP. To me it is less work overall.
Good point!!
What is the standard dance price there anyway? I heard it was more than the other clubs ($50).
I have a feeling now that its winter, tax time, the no smoking law (coming in next month)
and now this shooting business is going to hit an all time low in Melbourne especially down king st... I wish they didnt say spearmint on the news.. or stripper for that matter.
From what I have seen in other states, the no smoking law will kill business for a while and then people will get used to it and it will be fine. winter also sucks because no one wants to go out, hell I don't even want to go to work when its cold! and this shooting will scare people away from king st for a while. I remember when there was a big fight and a guy got stabbed outside of bar 20 last year and it killed business for a month.
Why is the world so deadset against having me go to the one city I want to be at the most?
*sigh*
I still think that you should come!!
I will keep u updated on how business is.
It's $50 for three songs like every other club tho' I tried to sell $70/$80 or $100 dances up-front.
As for all this making business slow, it might. It's the reason I'm waiting until September to go back down to Melbourne.. the no smoking law will be around (and people generally used to it), everyone would have forgotten to a certain extent the shooting, the weather is warmer, the footy finals are happening, etc etc.
People will be out and about more often in September.
Have yet to decide on a club for that trip.
At the same time, I honestly think due to the shooting that business will only be slow for like a fortnight as people do 'forget' rather easily as the next big news story will take their fancy ... not to mention tax time will be on everyone's minds.
well they named the girl who was involved, her name is Kara Douglas, a night club promo girl,
Here is a photo of her

in this news report they refer to her as a dancer:
http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/news...019055871.html
In that news report they said she was known as Kaera Douglas, and here are more photos:

Here is a closer photo of her, also dabbles more into her modelling career:

This is the stripper:

I hope her parents knew she was dancing....
oh, and they just said on the news, he turned himself into a melbourne police station :)
Yeh I heard that too. They also showed her myspace page.
I just did a search and couldnt find it tho
^^^^ OHHHhhhhhh so the stripper was the one doing skanky lapdances in barcode? and the hot model chick was the one shot? bummer!
her myspace page is probably under her stage name tho
It was naughty autie or something but I searched and it didnt come up. It might have been myspazz (I havent heard of that before now).
Yeh apparently she was doing lapdances for the boss as it was his birthday or something. WTF?? I would NEVER give me boss a lap dance esp not in a place that is not a strip club.
"This woman started taking her top off and you could see everything. She was giving this guy with a bald head a lap dance," Mr Jobson said
Sounds like a certain long time Manager at that club. He is also part of a Kiss Tribute Band... would I be thinking of the right person? First name starts with S ?? It certainly can't or wouldn't be the other manager (starting with M) nor the American one ... M the manager doesn't come over as that type of person.
S on the other hand.. I caught him with the shot girl (his girlfriend supposedly) more than once here and there in the club.
I don't think it had anything to do with spearmint or the managers there, they where at a different party that morning/night and the bar code thing has nothing to do with them.
ok I am totally confused now?
I thought the girl getting dragged was Kaera Douglas, not Autumn Daly-Holt.....
I would say it could still have something to do with the managers of rhino, as they are owned by the same guy + the managers + dancers commonly hang out there before and after work :s
So was Autumn Daly-Holt a dancer ? or was Kaera?
Autumn Daly-Holt is the dancer and the other girl is the promo model.
The dancer got her jaw broken in bar code. The promo model got shot.
They were friends.
thanks!
What's this about him hurting his own wrist or something? Damn as if anyone is going to feel sorry for him. Its the poor man's funeral today who was killed, how sad.
