You can do it Kat. I thought of you when I posted this, as you've said you don't have people over because you don't want to clean! :P

You can do it Kat. I thought of you when I posted this, as you've said you don't have people over because you don't want to clean! :P
I've put off cleaning due to the maybe impending move. If we get the greenlight, I'll start packing, if not... I'll clean!
And I seriously did a happy dance when I learned that the house we might get is in a non-HOA area.
I hate our HOA. But we don't just have one, we have 2! I think they add up to about $300+ a month. One being for the community, and one being for the gated part we live in.
I'm pretty good about everything but the dishes. I hate doing dishes and I have a tendency to let them pile up for a week or so, and then clean them on Friday afternoons. I don't like seeing a huge pile of dirty dishes in the sink, but I hate washing them.
I do all the rest of the cleaning around here, so I can usually pass the dishes off on K, heh.
I'd have to wait until R figures out I'm not cleaning the dishes for him to do them. Like I get tired of him leaving his crap in the sink and not cleaning the dishes once in a while, so I'll leave them in there for about a week until he gets frustrated and does them. Guess he knows how I feel!
I hired lawn service to come cut my lawn 1x/wk since a creek runs through my yard and I injure my back every time I cut it. I trimmed all my flowers this week. Today I watered the flowers & plants, potted two plants, spread hay in the pen for my dog, got my patio furniture out and i=am in the middle of cleaning it all. I tried to clean my gutters but can't quite figure out how to use the ladder so I'm gonna have to wait for a guy to go to the bar next door.
Inside my house I finally cleared all the clothes off my bathroom counter and put them in a basket. I hung up and folded some clean clothes. i mopped the kitchen and dining room floors yesterday. I need to finish cleaning upstairs bathroom, start downstairs bathroom, clean off my desk, and clean off ym dresser. Next week I'm going to steam clean my carpet in the living room and up the stairs.
I couldn't imagine my house looking like a disaster from the outside, considering I live alone and everyone would think I'm a slob, especially all the people that go to the bar next door and know my family. I try and do a little bit each day and it'll enver all get finished but every part helps.
Wow, go you SS :)
Oh I totally know what you mean! I got my dog shaved, but the cats are shedding-machines right now. I have to constantly go around and scoop hairballs out of the corners. I'm really glad to have all hardwood floors!
I'm proud to say that, for once, my house is totally clean...ok....MOSTLY clean. The bedroom looks like a torando with a shopping habit hit it. :P
K, three loads of laundry and one kitchen floor and counter and a clean fish tank....I feel pretty productive.
It certainly looks tidier, which is a good thing. Done for the day though, my lil sis is coming over for advice...hmmm... So more tomorrow, I never did get to washing the dog.....
Thanks CF, it was a very motivational thread!
I have those big tumbleweeds of cat hair too.
My place is a disgrace. I kep meaning to clean but then I get sidetracked on this damn SW!
The bf and I are cleaning up our space today since our roommates are having family come to visit.
We have literally not vaccuumed since we moved in (about a year ago). Our floor was about 1 foot deep with clothes, too. :D
Ok, cleaning: I honestly believe its a talent much like music, writing, athleticism, languages, etc....
Growing up, I always had to spend my saturdays getting the house spotless. Even when we had a maid help, it was never good enough for my mom, who is so anal about it. No shoes were allowed to be worn in the house. But that is also a russian thing, w snow and all.
Once I went out on my own, I became such a slob. It really seems to take me forever to adequately clean up a room. That is why I am so happy to outsource the task. Really, I fucking hate it. Even when I have energy and am blasting good tunes, it takes me forever to get through a room.
Truly, I am so happy to be able to pay someone to clean my place up, I always tip generously. That is one of my most important goals in regards to financial freedom. I fucking hate cleaning! As an immigrant here, we always had some russian to help us out with some labor work I abhor such as painting. And these were PHD's doing this!
When I lived in Holland and got stuck w a job as a dishwasher I truly realized the value of my skills. So, by all means, please help me w the cleaning, I need it!
.....
Hey I dusted my computer, it really sucks in the dust!
Oh and Kat, anything, like that you begin to hate. I used to enjoy cleaning till the empress bitched too much about my quality. I still make that tam toilet sparkel and smell nice, more than she ever will. I really do hate doing the dishes though.
I finally finshed setting up my office/study room in my new home. I need to catch up on laundry. Boo laundry.
:rotfl:
You kill me LM.
Pull weeds? Nah its called roundup. If your cheap you could try napalm, but the house might go with it.
Not good enough for the HOA.
I'm in some prestigous "golf course" housing community where we have a golf course and natural lakes spread in between the houses.
Blah. Can't afford this place no more!
^^Then they could use some napalm! LOL I'm destructive today!!
Oh wow - I think I have been cleaning nonstop since I got back home from the hotel - or so it seems. I am doing some kind of hardcore "nesting" thing that women go through when they are about to have a baby. Suddenly everything is filthy, I must rearrange all the furniture and buy candles, area rugs and more items for the first aid kit. :O
I woke up at 9 am today and started peeling the old linoleum tiles off of the kitchen counter with a butter knife. Jess woke up eventually and joined in. Tonight before I go to bed, I will hang pictures, clean the remote controls with Q-tips and remove some stray adhesive from the bedroom door with lighter fluid. Maybe I will even vacuum the cat tree.
This place has been re-carpeted, painted and the walls have been scrubbed. The flooring guys are coming early monday morning to put new tiles on the kitchen floor as well.
I am nuts with the cleaning! I should be watching movies and eating ice cream but I can't stop. :P
um...don't tell anyone, but I've actually thrown dishes away before b/c I really, really, REALLY just didn't want to wash them. :-[ One time I just looked at this pan that I'd cooked eggs in three weeks before, and it had been sitting in the sink soaking in nasty slimy egg-crusted sewage-like reeky water for weeks, and I thought....fuck it, I'm buying a new pan. It's too far gone. :P One thing I do miss in this apt is a dishwasher!
But hey, I just finished picking up my apartment...I can see the floor now, and I found all sorts of CDs and costume pieces and stuff that I thought I'd lost forever and/or didn't realize I had :P I also re-arranged all the furniture in my bedroom...I like the new set-up! Tomorrow I finish vacuuming and cleaning the kitchen and bathroom, and doing laundry (hey I have to...I have to work tomorrow and I have no clean costumes at all, lol) :) Then I can stop making excuses to not have people over, b/c after all this work I'm not letting it look like a pig sty again!
I'm sorry I'm going to delete my post, it was insensitive.
