Coming soon, after a 2 year hiatus
So I've been retired from dancing for 2 years now, and haven't been dancing full-time for about 4 years.
I'm nervous about jumping back in, but that's the plan. I currently live in Oregon but will be moving to Spokane where I'll be going back to working at Stateline Showgirls where I worked for 2 years before moving down here.
I have several questions, but I'll start with this...
When I left house rent was $35 with $5 taken from each dance. What is it now, if it's changed at all.
Another question to any of you who have left the industry and then rejoined...
Is it easy to jump back in and make money like you did when you left? Or did you go through a newbie phase getting used to it all again?
Anything and everything would be helpful.
Thanks! ;p
Re: Coming soon, after a 2 year hiatus
I don't know anything about Oregon, so can't help you there.
But thinking back (the first time I returned after a one year hiatus), I felt surprised when I asked someone to dance and they said "yes," because I had been away so long. But by the end of the dance I realized, "OMG, it's just like riding a bicycle!" You never really forget how to do it :) As far as making money like you did before, I guess that would depend on if the club is still doing well or not. But maybe you'll bump into some of your old customers. Good luck!

I was hoping to hear that it's like riding a bike.
Either way, I'm still really nervous for some reason. I feel like a newb again. Never thought that'd happen.

I'm about to start dancing again on September 1st. I to am nervous about it. I think we'll be fine. I only took off a year so hopefully haven't forgotten everything.

It's exactly like riding a bike. The first few tries might be bumpy but you'll be smooth sailing form there. Best of luck and much love!
