How to get your (hustle) groove back?
I've been dancing for about seven years and I feel like I just don't have IT any more. I have to drink now to talk to people and I'm always sad. I'm probably in better shape now then when I first started but I just can't make money. I just read a topic on race in strip clubs and I use to think maybe they just didn't like black girls. Now I think its just me. What can I do to get that groove back.:(

Quit dancing. Work a regular job for $9 an hour. You will be happy to go back to dancing. ;)

That's totally the truth. I worked a "regular" job where I was working part time, and it was a good job, at $23 a hour. But I HATED it. I wanted my freedom back. It made me want to come back at 110%. It really isn't a bad idea to go back into the real world for while, it might change your perspective.

I've always keep at lease a part time real job. I look at my check every week and want to cry. When I go get ready for work at the club, I have to go get me a small bottle of e and j or tequila and make myself get happy. I've even stopped dancing for a while and had two jobs but it just made it worse.

Getting a real world job does put everything in perspective. When I lose my hustle I just do everything that the other girls are not doing and make fun out of it. If all the girls are sitting with each other and talking, I just roam the club looking like I have somewhere to go and chat the customers up. It's funny to me because I look like the odd one when all the girls are hanging out with themselves. I just just keep walking the floor until my head spins or I run out of customers.

Goal setting worked for me this weekend. I can relate to how you are feeling. I felt out of the loop and really frustrated, I wrote a post about it, and then I set some ambitious goals before work yesterday. I went in with a good attitude and I had my best night ever. :)
For me it has to be a lot of money in a short time for a nonessential item. Like vacation or something. I am not the OMG I need to make rent TONIGHT type of girl.

Is there any way that you could try working in an area outside of TX? From what I've read from other SW girls, TX can be pretty rough. If trying another club in a diff city isn't in the cards, take like a week off and have some "me" time. Get hired at a new club and become a new you. Hell, even change your stripper name.
As a black dancer myself, in the past I would find myself thinking "oh they must not like black dancers" too. Now I don't keep that negative attitude. All men have a preference. Trust me, there is always SOMEONE who is totally feeling your look.

Have to agree with Cin, change of environment would probably do you well...help you get out of the rut.
