Stupid Question about table dances
Am I the only person who would prefer to not do these? The new club I'm working at offers this, and Ive never worked at a club that has them...well one but it was strict no contact and I could talk them out of buying them.
Anywho, at this new club table dances seem to be the norm. My issue is that there is no room to do them, plus I feel "put on display" when I am giving them a table dance.
Is there anyone here who prefers strict table dancing over lapdancing or vice versa?

Re: Stupid Question about table dances
Im a contact princess so I prefer them because this way im out on the main floor and I don't have to worry about guys trying to grope me or do anything stupid. Also I find that I tend to sell more dances by doing table dances because other guys see how 'hot' my dance is and they want one for themselves.

Re: Stupid Question about table dances
As in dancing on the table or dancing at their table as compared to VIP?
-
Re: Stupid Question about table dances
^^As in dancing at their table. Contact (one way) is involved, light contact

Re: Stupid Question about table dances
Ooooh. Hmm. Well that is the primary dance form around here. Some of our clubs have VIP areas, or couches for dances too (though the couches in the main club area are not considered special therefor the price is the same as the table dances). Now that I work in a club with a VIP area, I try to go for that for the obvious $$ reason, which isn't hard because NONE of the girls here sell the table dances. Many customers don't even know they exist. I never felt weird about dancing so out in the open though. I guess since it was the norm for this area, I got used to it ASAP. I guess if it came down to preference, not including prices, I'd not care about where I do the dances. Where they are doesn't phase me whatsoever... just how much I'm getting lol. Plus I see it as another way to advertise mah skills. Stage + table dances = more dudes seeing how awesome I am ;)

Re: Stupid Question about table dances
i dont even offer them. i tell them id rather not give everyone a free dance around him on his dollar and that for x amount more he can have a better dance. i rarely get turned down.
-
Re: Stupid Question about table dances
We can offer them for $10 (i do $15) but we don't have to. I never mention them unless asked, even the managment says they're silly to do because its kinda like a guy getting a dance for him...and all his buddies to watch. I've only done ONE ever, on a slow Monday afternoon because the guy just wanted me to dance "out here".
If a guy ever brngs it up I always tell them that its not as good of a dance and I give a much better one out back, and with the exception of this one time, they always go out back.

Re: Stupid Question about table dances
I'm still not sure if I understand what we're talking about. Forgive my ignorance, in my 9 years I've only stripped in Phoenix and Vegas. What is it you're used to? What do these table dances entail? Are you like on top of the table? Again sorry for my ignorance, I'm trying to understand.

Re: Stupid Question about table dances
^^
At my club its the same as a lapdance out back...but you do it right there on the floor in front of the guy at his table. When I 1st got hired I had the same question "you mean i dance on the table?" lol. They're a pain in the ass though, because the chairs have wheels on the bottom...so you can't even use the chair for support...so it really is a shitty dance for the guy.

Re: Stupid Question about table dances
Okay, thank you Lyssa Lynn, I had the same damn question! Here a table dance and lap dance are pretty much the same darn thing! As far as I know anyway. And I'll be honest, I don't mind them at all! As long as I get to do my job that is. If I have a gropey, handsy guy who is bothering me, then I hate them (the dances) but if I get to do my thing, I kinda like it....but I'm a pervert. ;D

Re: Stupid Question about table dances
i didn't answer because i don't think this question applies to me. out club only has one type of dance.. it's a light to medium (but no grinding and mosttly one way) contact dance. it's not really a "lap dance" cause there's no grind, but it's not really a "table dance" either, since we do get really close, lay on the customer, etc.
all the dances are 20 a pop cept for the VIP and VIP is pretty much the dame contact with more privacy.

Re: Stupid Question about table dances
I dont even offer them If they bring it up, I'll tell them that for $10 more(table is $10, friction is $20) they can get privacy and be allowed to touch. And not be paying for the same thing every other guy around him will be ableto see for free.If they insist on it, I'll do it..but they HAVE to keep their hands at their sides and cant touch me at ALL(mind you my club is HEAVY contact so this is a big deal). If they complain..I tell them they can do the next dance in the back where touching is allowed.
I think in the last few years I could count the amount of tables I've done one hand. It just isnt worth my time.

Re: Stupid Question about table dances
I HATE table dances. And the worst thing is we do like 2 minutes worth of 'dollar dances' on busy nights, where I have no choice unless I want a fine. But I do whatever I can to get away from the table into VIP/Champagne, or at the very least, to an empty table/chair away from the crowd... But I won't bring it up as an option, it only happens when they specifically ask for it and are to frickin cheap to buy a VIP pass. At least I still got the $30...

Re: Stupid Question about table dances
I chose "No, I don't even offer that type of dance." but now I think i may be confused.
There is only one type of dance available at my club, and we call it a lapdance.
It is done on the main floor right at the customers table, but involves one way contact and grinding. (we have no couch room or VIP or champagne)
So it's at his table but not on his table, and his friends and everyone else can see it but it's on his lap. Is that a table dance or a lap dance?

Re: Stupid Question about table dances
^ Table.
And I knew a girl that actually got on the table when she table danced. It was so funny. You think she'd learn after watching the other girls but nope - there she was, rockin' out on a table, a week later.

Re: Stupid Question about table dances
I like em, b/c it's like advertising, and when it's busy you can do one for him, then turn and do one for the guy next to him, without wasting a song.
they're 20$.
-
Re: Stupid Question about table dances
I don't do them, but some of the girls at my club do. When a guy asks me to dance at the table, I politely tell him that I'd be glad to take him to the back or that I would love to see him at the stage, but I do not dance for dollars at the tables. I don't see how there is any real money to be made this way in my club. Obviously there is the upsell, but the table dance type girls at my club are the ones you never see in VIP. I guess that explains their motivation to do it.

Re: Stupid Question about table dances
I do NOT do table dance. Uh no way jose. I feel as you put it Cinn.,put on fucking display. IT sucks dick.
I always wisk em' away to a place against a wall or something. Plus considering I work in an airdance club I tend to knock drinks over.Which is my excuse in order to get away from where they are wanting it at ( the table.)

They're both basically the same thing. I call them either/or. I prefer them. We have a nice, private bench area in my club where most of the girls give them and you can still see the whole club and the stages. I'd rather do $20 table dances song after song with a guy anyday, then having to go through our 3 stage rotation that we have and put myself on display to the cheap custys we have here in this friggin' town. Did I mention that I want to get the fuck out of SA?

Re: Stupid Question about table dances
At my club we have to do a podium every hour or 2 hours. We dance in a bikini and do not take our tops or bottoms off unless someone tips $20 and then we do a table dance which involves the dancer being naked on the table but focusing on the customer who paid the $20. I dont really like them because all the cheap asses come and watch for free but I suppose it's advertising too and after I have done these types of dances I have then been asked for a private dance.
we have no VIP or CR at my club so it's either table dances or private dances in a semi private dance room.

Re: Stupid Question about table dances
Yeah--I just recently posted about the "dollar dance"--this is what I was talking about. At out club, these dances literally net a dollar, sometimes more. I would love to get all the girls together and train them to say "TABLE DANCES are $5" not "Would you like a dollar dance?"
-
Re: Stupid Question about table dances
Table dances are par for the course out here. You dance at (not on!) the guy's table for $10, or do VIP for $25. A table dance is one way contact and VIP is two. The VIP room is a separate but still open room, so it's not really all that more private, just more contact. Some guys don't want the whole VIP thing so I can't imagine turning down a dance just because it's at their table, it all adds up.
-
Re: Stupid Question about table dances
I don't mind doing them if the price is right. I've worked place where they are $5 and that's no good for a whole song. I did some $20 table dances this weekend-better money, but I feel like a tool out there on the floor. Still, money is money and it gets you noticed a bit.

Re: Stupid Question about table dances
I sat with a customer today who told me he wanted to buy a dance from this one girl, yet she informed him that she doesn't do table dances ($10) only lapdances ($25). He was pretty turned off by her approach.
I don't want to put a sour taste in a customers mouth, but how can I word it to a customer that by spending an extra $15 he'll be getting a much better dance?? I want as much money as I can, but I also don't want to come off as a snob.
