PHILLY GIRLS--what is this mystical "good season?"
Alrite, I work at delilahs. I was there all of January, it was decent, but the girls kept talking about "the good season" coming up (spring/summer). Now, in June I came back to philly and all the girls were complaining about the "slow summer" and how "the good season" is coming up (aka fall). Is this just an excuse for laziness, or does it really get poppin?
Having spent the winter hustling my ass off in NJ, I'm doing pretty well right now that I've honed my skillz ;). I don't want to be selfish, but is the fall supposed to be some magical season "when you can make 1,000 a night without even trying" (so says a chick from my club about the fall). thanks everyone ;)
Re: PHILLY GIRLS--what is this mystical "good season?"
Philly is the type of city, where each club's "good season" can be very different form another's. I can't personally speak on Delilah's, but I do know that the nude clubs' good season does mirror bachelor party-football season, due to the b.y.o.b. rules.
I too have heard from a g/f that Delilah's was/is shitty the Summer.

ah, such is the stripper way it seems. every season but now is "the good season," and the reason you don't make money now is because "it sucks in the spring/summer/fall/winter"
So pay no mind, and log your earnings on spreadsheet by day and month so you can make your own conclusions about when is the "good" season!
Re: PHILLY GIRLS--what is this mystical "good season?"
When we started, we found that real data was nearly impossible to come by. Folks who own/work at clubs tend to have their perception skewed by their personal best times, not the club/industries best times. If a floor host got one miracle high rolling/high tipping client one Tuesday in June, they will always think that "June is the time for high rollers" despite the fact that it only happened once. 4 years ago.
Then there are the people who always want you to think that they make $8K/week every week for whatever reason. These are the folks that constantly talk about how "next weekend will be great because of <insert any reason they can think of>." Or how the reason last weekend was bad was due to some mild random factor ("Everyone went to the UFC fight instead of coming to the club.") Over time, it was clear to us that folks working in clubs were not great sources of what really goes on month over month…
In LV, we found the best way to track and predict the seasons and events was to talk to non SC business folks; restaurants and nightclubs owners, convention folks, travel services, casino execs, entertainment directors, etc... They had no reason to lie (usually), and as we were free with our info back to them it allowed us both to tweak our biz models better.
LV is certainly a different town, but there is probably some value to asking local business folks who've been in place a few years what their busy and slow seasons are.

it's seriously from mid-september til around Christmas in Philly. You can trust me since I've been dancing in Philly for over 5 years.
P.S. August is the worst!
