50 Cent has two certified bangers out, "AYO Technology" with Justin Timberlake is on fire and the new song with Robin Thicke "Follow My Lead" is very catchy.
I can't understand this 50 Cent hatred, I'll agree his music is repetitive, however, 50 is very aware of what his buying audience is interested in hearing (a listening audience doesn't buy CD's).
We all need to root for 50 and hope he does well! Hip Hop recording sales are way down, if 50 flops, the rap music industry is doomed!
No, No, and YES.
Hatred would imply I acknowledged his existence or cared......
Maybe if the boys down in the lab could come up with a ray gun or aerosol spray that could convert unbridled unwarranted asinine ego into talent then maybe all will not be lost.....maybe his *cough, cough, vomit, hurl, spasm, cough* "music" needs a little more cowbell::) .
If he sounded like he could read or write I might listen to him, but probably not.
I love 50! but I probably won't buy this album. *shrugs*
Can they both quit?
Fiddy needs to offer a little more with this whole promise if he wants to impress us. Something more than a partial retirement, how about pulling the back catalog from any form of media airplay. Total withdrawal of Fiddy's content from the internet too, and no publicity around the act to get the kids excited about him.
Um, in the purest sense of the word 'emcee', kanye is leagues better than 50. In addition, Kanye produces his shit. So lyricially kanye shits on 50, and talent wise he eclipses 50. 50 is just 'candy shop' trash...dude sells records, but that's because of where he came up from (eminem) and all the producers that have put out bangers for him. Does anyone honestly think 50 would have been shit if he hadn't hooked up with Eminem and Dre? Meanwhile, Kanye had been the mastermind behind Jay Z's production in the background while no one even knew his name.
Kanye may be a shithead in person, but he's probably the most gifted writer/lyricist/producer in the game right now...so if anyone emcee is allowed to be cocky, it'd probably be him. I love it how he's not affraid to take chances on his production either...from james bond rifts to techno japanese shit.
I just heard the new fity today. I've heard the Kanye a few times, noticed it flipping through the radio and thought they were playing Daft Punk. I must say, Kanye did a good job with "Stronger" and fity's shit sounds like the same old shit. I did noticed that 50 sampled the Windows XP "error" audio sound, when it can't find a file, etc. I definately don't want to hear that shit, lol!
I have never heard of either of these guys....guess I am old...;D
Ehh.. I don't care if they're assholes in person or whatever.. if it bumps, I listen..
This is a pathetic WWE style hype ploy on 50's part tho.. kinda sad. Loser leaves town match. meh.
I liked 50's older stuff.. not impressed with the newer songs I've heard. Kanye's just been very consistantly great in my op.
Going back to my mix cd's.. Kanye's songs are always present..
Through the Wire
All Falls Down
Jesus Walks
Gold Digger
Hey Mama
Heard 'Em Say
Touch the Sky
Grammy Family (some help)
Gone
Drive Slow (some help)
Throw Some D's (ripoff but great)
Stronger
Can't Tell Me Nuthin
50 Cent, like I said, pretty strong on that first cd.. ever since then not as much..
Magic Stick (some help)
PIMP
21 Questions
In Da Club
If I Can't
How We Do (some help)
Candy Shop

Then he completely disappears.. haven't had a 50 song pop up on my mixes since Oct. '05.. wow..
Umm, I agree with "almost" everything you said, EXCEPT for Kanye didn't produce for Jay-Z until 2001 (Blueprint). Let's not have people thinking (not saying you think that Filli) that Kanye made Jay-Z.
To someone unfamiliar with the specific relevant anthology, your statement could be misconstrued.
Jay-Z was out (recording, performing & videos) waaaayyyyy before 2001, and he was mainstream in 1995 (maybe earlier).
Let's not forget about Hawaiian Sophie in 1989.
Kanye has a LOT more talent. He's a writer and was so before he did his solo album. I think he used to work with Jay-Z.
Let's hope Kanye wins the battle. I don't know anything about 50s "talent."
Kanye is not lyrically better than 50! Kanye throws in a slick one liner here and there, and because of the current state of popular rap music is so poor, everyone thinks he's a great emcee (the same can be said about the way overrated Lil' Wayne). Have you heard the Classic Material with Kanye, Nas, KRS-One, and Rakim. How weak did Kanye sound on that song? 50 would've been able to rock right along side them.
Don't sleep on 50, he's repetitive on topics only because the buying audience isn't interested in lyrics but a catchy hook and a good beat. If this was 1989, he'd rhyme about black power, and if it was 1992, his rhyme would be filled with diggity diggity diggity. It's obvious, 50 isn't trying to improve the artform, just trying to sell a lot of records.
FilliPeenis, aren't you from brooklyn? How could you forget that 50 & G-Unit had not only NYC, but the entire country, on fire just off of mixtapes! 50 Cent changed the game, Eminem and Dre had to sign him, he would've been hot regardless.
Watch your mouth. Nobody real hip-hop fan shad ever said Lil' Wayne was a great lyricist. He's not......yet.
Although, he's getting MUCH better.
He's not "overrated" for lyrical content, he's hot 2 death, because he's original, and distinct. Songs like "I feel like dying", and "Prostitute Flange", show that that he's maturing and willing to take risks as an artist/lyricist, and guess what?..it works!
Back to 50 and Kanye.
^ I wanna have Lil'Wayne's baby ! No, not really.. but it sounds good !
He is hot as hell currently, the only rapper I'm listening to.
" I feel like dying is on hit" stays on repeat while I'm driving.
Of course he still has a way to go but, lyrically. I can see him surpassing a lot of the greats.
He already has passed Jay to a point. The only thing that turns me off is his need to rep gang banging so hard. Not the message to put out there, especially to young people.
If 50 retires then that'll be his lost ! I like both Kenye and 50 but, come on now.
The world isn't going to end if any of them walk away from hip-hop. That's stupid as hellto walk away from $$ over one's ego.
As much as I admire Jay rap was alive and doing well w/out him ! That's the plain truth.
There are so many undiscovered, talented rappers that would blow a lot of these boys outta the water .
WTF?! Lil Wayne has passed Jay?!
I can't believe I hear this as much as I do! What has Wayne ever said that was iller than anything Jay said on Blueprint 2. That's right, blueprint 2, Jay-Z weakest lyrical composition is still stronger than anything Wayne has ever spit. Don't let these guests appearances fool you, I've never rocked to an entire Lil Wayne solo song, and neither have you! 50 Cent said it best, tell me the first single off his last album! On some real shit, Wayne couldn't beat Fabolous or Cassidy in a battle.
What ??!! Wayne couldn't beat Fab or Cassidy..Pleeeeaaassseee. Cassidy is no competition what so ever ! I gotta give Fab his props, he has cool lyrics..yet, still no competition.
But..come on, you can't be serious ::) If you were you would'd came stronger..So I'm gonna over look this one.
Now, I said Wayne has passed J to a point. Meaning not fully on his level yet..He still has more cultivating to do in some ways..However there are certain areas where he has passed him...although JZ was my #1 for many, many, many years..He wasn't even where Wayne is now when he was the same age..Believe me I've listened to J's OLD shit ! Before the ROCK.. It's wack ! Anything he did before Bonnie & Clyde was..That song made him !
What J is a learned, suave, determined businessman and an intelligent brother. (I gotta give that to him)
He had the Rock and all it's people behind him that helped heighten his flow.
That's what made him great !
( Now if you think you can prove me wrong, do it..but do it w/ music..find me something that I might've over looked)
Also how do you know what I've "rocked" to ?? It's obvious you're not privy to the same music that I am ;)
I suspect your hating on Lil' Wayne so hard, cuz he's Southern.
Don't you dare come back and list Scarface and a host of other Southern rappers that you like, that would be the same as saying I like____people, some of my best friends are_____!
Fab beat Lil Wayne in a battle???? WHAT!!! I feel like dying., calling the Fireman, and smoking some Cali dro, all while saying "Go D.J." while I'm "Over Here Hustlin".......pun intended.
Wayne's verse on "We Takin' Over" is better than ANYTHING Fab has ever rapped. "I am the beast, feed me rappers or feed me beats....its a bullet hole, it is not a tumor"!!!! Hell, Duffle Bag Boy is the hotter than most of what Fab's done, and Wayne is only on the chorus!!!
Holla at me when you get your mind right CT!!!
