stripper satisfaction (rant/funny story)
Work for me sun night was unusually slow. i always like sundays, but for some reason it was dead. i went over to a youngish guy sitting alone at a table. asked why he was sitting all alone, could i join him, blah blah blah. he gave me a lame excuse- he had a good view from back there. he spoke so quietly ON PURPOSE, being rude. he said he was watching the game and the girls on stage, didn't like many of the girls and had it all just sitting in the back watching. (to me this was a lame excuse; you want a beer you go to a normal bar.) he was acting very rude, and i was grumpy, SO i said 'basically you're too cheap to tip the girls, and are being an ass.'
i normally try not to say this stuff, but i was just not having a good night. in the dressing room, i told a girl about it, and she said he was the same to her, rude, etc.
fast fwd to me being on stage; he actually comes over to the tip rail, to tip me, i guess he liked what he saw now that i was nude and dancing. i may be a snot, or have too much pride, but i didn't go over to get his dollar. i don't need a dollar from guys like that. i refused to give him the satisfaction.
SOOOOO-
after my stage set, i'm walking the floor, going over to another guy who was interested. the first guy (rude guy) tapped me as i walked past him, asked if i wanted to do a lapdance.
my response: ' Not with you! ' and walked off.
This gave me SO much satisfaction! i don't even care that i had a slow money night, that made me feel so good! i know i shouldn't have, but i just didn't want to give him the satisfaction of knowing i needed or wanted his money.
hahahaha
yay. ended up getting a champagne room from the nice guy later anyway.

Yeah, sometimes you need to take back your power. It feels good after feeling dependent on approaching losers in order to get paid. It's impossible to be perky 100% of the time at this job.

Good for you :) Sometimes putting assholes like that in their place (and realizing that you don't have to put up with all that shit to make money) is healthy, and can shift your whole mindset and attitude for the better. I think it was Bridgette who posted awhile back that "it might seem like I'm walking away from a lot of money, but actually I'm walking TO the *better* money." You know you'll make money--if not from one guy, then from another. You don't have to put up with rude custies to make a dollar. Walk away and you'll get yours from a nicer guy. ;) And you did!
(edited b/c I just noticed you live in MD. Where do you work, if you don't mind my asking? Just curious--you can PM me if you don't want to post it. :) )
