The Ring gave me nightmares for years. Still, in fact.
ooooh this is my subject. Im a total horror movie geek. Black Christmas, Texas Chainsaw (both old ones, new ones can suck my chocolate salty balls) Sleepaway Camp, Carrie (with sissy spacek) Prom Night, Dont go into the woods, The new Hills Have Eyes, Hostel, Dead Silence....Ill stop now, my full list is a few pages long and ya wont find half of it at blockbuster
I'm a horror movie addict.
The Descent was awesome...but after discussing it with my sister...once they started crawling through those tiny lik tunnels that they could barley squeeze through...thats just asking to be eaten by ancient cave creatures...
Love the Ring...and all the Saw movies.
And yes I'm a fan of modern gore...Hills Have Eyes, Hostel, Texas Chainsaw Massacres....
i hated the hills have eyes, i thought it was gross and not scary. pet semetary is one of my all time scariest, too. dead silence, however.. i thought it was absolutely horrible. there was not one good thing about it.
im so picky when it comes to horror movies.. i thought the ring 2 was stupid, and texas chainsaw, i saw when i was 10 years old and i was like thats it? the town that dreaded sundown, though, i loved that. and another one that really scared me when i was younger was called april fools day.
ive been watching horror movies my whole life, my friends used to have to get permission to come to my birthday parties because i just wanted to watch scary movies all night. another good one is poltergeist. i actually enjoyed the sequels, too.
^^^
yeah it was gross...but I tend to go for movies that make me wanna shut my eyes. Pet Cemetary...i love! I remember watching that when I was being a kid and I wouldnt stand next to anything big enough for a child to hide under....because I knew the dead kid was waiting to slash the tendon at the back of my ankle!!!
I am seriously addicted to horror...when we go to movie gallery my bf has to beg me "can we just for once...watch something not scary??" But usually we do anyway.
Scary movies are easier to get him to watch than weird artsy ones...Pans Labrinyth...I'm gonna have trouble with that one...its subtitled...he'll HATE that.
^ the scariest part for me in pet sematary was the sister, zelda, near the end. and the dead bike guy that comes and kneels down by the doctors bed in the beginning.
i'm the biggest horror movie fan i know lol.
i love gore. hills have eyes, hostel, saw, etc.
i love the classics... friday 13th, halloween, nightmare on elm street, it, pet sematary, etc.
but my favourite horror movie ever, the one that scared me more than any other is...
house on haunted hill.
yeah it's lame but it's fucking SCARY. maybe it's just cos i have a huge fear of anything nurse/doctor/surgical/hospital related, but that movie scared the crap out of me. it's very, very rare for a movie to scare me at all, but house on haunted hill scared me so much that i couldn't walk through my house at night because i was convinced that doctor vannacut was going to be there.
totally agree. the first one was scary because you only saw their faces for a split second and you didn't see much of samara... but the sequel went for the stupid "in your face" stuff, like "hi, i'm samara, in your face, and here i am, again, and again!". it really made that movie suck a lot.
I absolutely love the Ring. I remember that it was so scary that there were people walking out of the theater because they couldn't handle it. You really thought that little girl was going to pop out of the screen and pulverize you.
I love Night of the Living Dead and just about any zombie movie. I am a zombie fan. I love the new Dawn of the Dead as well as 28 days and 28 weeks. And yes, I know 28 days and 28 weeks are not true "zombie" movies.
has anybody seen the messengers? i wanted to see it when it was in theaters but never got around to it. that looked good...
- "Jeepers Creepers" was memorably menacing.
- Although it was a thriller versus a horror flick, Joe Pontaliano's riveting performance during the last 10 minutes of "Bound" freaked me out. My wife and I actually paused the DVD a couple of times in order to take a breather...
Pet Cemetary and Misery.....Stephen King is THE father of horror
i just watched the messengers and it was boring. i might get a little creeped out when i get home from work tonight, but overall it was nothing special.
CareBears: The Movie :( sooo many sleepless nights due to...tummies....shooting at me....
I cry sometimes.
I didn't like the messengers either. I hated the hills have eyes..I walked out, it was really ridiculous and the rape scene made me walk out. yuck.
My favorites though are 28 Days later and 28 weeks later because I like to think of what I'd do in the same situation. And the music is very creepy.
As much as I love horror movies... they are rarely "scary" to me. Most of the new stuff bores me too, especially the remakes. It's gotten to the point where if it's new and American, I will wait to see it when I can use one of my free rentals at werk to view it. I think the biggest disappointment for me was Hostel. The trailers made it seem like it was going to be ever so ground breaking and sick.... but all I got was tits, tits, tits, gore. Well, ok. I could get the tits + gore thing in the '80s but at least those movies made me laugh too. These days I cross my fingers that a horror movie is going to be eye candy and little else... like um... oh like the remake of Haunting, or the remake of 13 Ghosts. Very pretty visually, but that's about it.
When the ring came out...I think I was a freshman in highschool...and I had a bunch of people over and we watched the ring. My mom and I had this fabulous winter rental. It was this little inn with 4 rooms right in downtown Ogunquit...my favorite place we've lived. Anyway...there was an old phone in the basment (with the dial numbers) that wasnt used. So of course after we watch the ring...the fucking phone in the basment starts ringing...and its the old creepy piercing phone ring. Needless to say none of us answered the phone. I did notice that after that the phone in the basment would periodically ring...it used to scare the shit outta me.
The Village was scary as fuck for me.
spiceworld.........lol
There's a japanese horror movie called 'Exte' It's about killer hair extensions.
