"Kiss Me" by Tin Tin (obscure New Wave, should be re-made by SOMEONE) I would play this all by my lonesome while driving home from the club. I was in love with someone who I knew was going to dump me but I was getting all the touch I could until then.... The song pretty much sums up "unrequited" & quotes The Song of Solomon (in the Bible.) Very "cold" sonically too.
Re: Song & Memory: 96 Tears
There are so many. I'm such a music freak, I have very specific memories of certain songs. When I was 17, I had what I was then convinced was the most heartrending, soulcrushing breakup EVER. The gothy two-punch of "Prayers For Rain" and "The Same Deep Water As You" by The Cure was the most amazing thing EVER. Heh. There are bunches of songs I associate with MrsC, of course. "Only You" by Yaz always makes me smile and want to snuggle with her.
I'm pretty sure there was Billy Idol playing when I first did the dirty deed.
And hey wow MadMaxine, I have to go dig around for Stephen "Tin Tin" Duffy now. That's a groovy little tune.

Anything off SOAD's self-titled reminds me of running along the erie canal where I grew up and used to go on night runs all the time... Fortunate Fool (jack johnson), Mississippi Queen, and a few others that escape me right now all remind me of an amazing night I spent with a long-time long-distance lover... he'd made me a cd and we listened to it during a huge storm, curled up in his bed.... ;D Dialated Peoples' "Platform" makes me think of Chicago, where I used to work out to it non-stop at the YMCA.... Blink 182's first hit (names escapes me) and Live's song ("the angel opens her eyyyeeeeeeees..." yeah, bad with remembering titles right now) were covered by good friends' bands in 7-8th grade.... I have a LOT of music memories... I am the product of 2 musicians!
Good thread idea! :D
